Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Removed from Saturday's start
Syndergaard exited Saturday's start versus the Cardinals with an apparent right hamstring injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Syndergaard came out for the seventh inning just short of the 100-pitch mark and limped off the field in the middle of his second batter of the inning. The 26-year-old allowed five runs (four earned) over six innings, with two inherited runners scoring after he left the game.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Doesn't expect long absence
Hendricks doesn't think his shoulder injury is serious, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Hendricks was placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Saturday. He didn't think the injury occured on any one pitch, but instead felt a growing discomfort over the last few days. He hopes to be back after a brief period of rest, though the Cubs should know more after further tests.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Saddled with fourth loss
Strasburg (7-4) permitted six runs on nine hits and one walk over five innings in a 10-3 loss to the Diamondbacks on Saturday. He struck out five.
The Diamondbacks got to Strasburg early, scoring in each of the first four innings with the aid of four solo home runs. Strasburg yielded homers to Ketel Marte and Adam Jones in the first inning, Christian Walker in the second, and Marte for the second time in the fourth. He put up his only zero in the fifth inning and was removed after 95 pitches. The 30-year-old still has a 3.75 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 115:24 K:BB and will look to get back on track Thursday at home against the Phillies.

Cole Irvin RP | LAD
Phillies' Cole Irvin: Set to pitch Sunday
Irvin will be called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to pitch Sunday versus the Braves, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Manager Gabe Kapler neglected to say whether Irvin would work as a traditional starter or follow an opener, but he's set to see the bulk of the innings Sunday regardless. The 25-year-old allowed one run over seven innings during his first major-league outing of the season, but he has a 7.53 ERA and 1.47 WHIP over 14.1 innings since then.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Out with shoulder inflammation
Hendricks was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The injury perhaps explains Hendricks' poor start against the Dodgers on Friday in which he lasted just 4.1 innings while allowing five runs. He'd cruised to a 1.99 ERA over his last eight starts prior to Friday, so it doesn't appear as though this is a problem he's been dealing with for a long time. It's not clear when the Cubs expect him to return. Rowan Wick was called up in a corresponding move.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Expected back Wednesday
Williams (side) is tentatively scheduled to come off the IL to start Wednesday against the Tigers, John Perrotto of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
This is a positive development for the Pirates and fantasy owners, but Williams only built up to 71 pitches in his rehab start for Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday. He will have a nice, soft landing in a Tigers team that ranks dead last in the AL in scoring, but with the likelihood that his pitch count is limited in his first start back, Williams is not a slam-dunk starter in mixed leagues.

Huascar Ynoa SP | LAA
Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Called up from Triple-A
Ynoa was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.
The 21-year-old owns an unimpressive 4.87 ERA split across the three highest levels of the minors this season. His 11.0 percent walk rate is poor, though his 26.2 percent strikeout rate is fairly strong. Dan Winkler was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move.
-
Chris Flexen RP | CHC
Mets' Chris Flexen: Recalled from Triple-A
Flexen was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse prior to Saturday's game against the Cardinals, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Puma reports that the Mets have given up on Flexen becoming a major-league starting pitcher, but they want to give him a shot to carve out a role as a reliever. He has given up 12 runs in 11 innings as a big-league reliever.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Next start coming Monday
Wheeler will make his next start Monday against the Braves in Atlanta rather than Sunday versus the Cardinals, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.
Wheeler was in contention for two turns this week after starting in Tuesday's doubleheader with the Yankees, but Jason Vargas -- who started the other game of the twin bill -- will instead get the two-step. Though Wheeler remains the more intriguing arm for fantasy purposes, it's hard to quibble with manager Mickey Callaway's decision to push the right-hander back given how well Vargas has pitched over his last eight outings (2.20 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 7.4 K/9). Wheeler, meanwhile, has allowed three or more runs in six consecutive starts and may have a difficult time curtailing that streak on the road against a tough Atlanta squad.

Max Fried SP | NYY
Braves' Max Fried: Bailed out by late rally
Fried didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 9-8 win over the Phillies, giving up five runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out four.
The southpaw had trouble commanding his pitches, uncorking two wild pitches and serving up two homers, but Atlanta scored seven runs in the final three innings to take Fried off the hook for his fourth loss of the year. He's been shaky lately, failing to complete six innings in three of his last four outings, and Fried will carry a 4.11 ERA and 70:21 K:BB through 76.2 innings into his next start Wednesday, at home against the Mets.
