Mike Soroka SP | ARI
Braves' Mike Soroka: Twirls a gem in win
Soroka (2-1) gave up one run on four hits with one walk while striking out eight through six innings to earn the win over the Padres on Monday.
Although Soroka only induced eight swinging strikes, he got 22 called strikes on his way to eight strikeouts and his second win. The 21-year-old was efficient, pitching six innings on only 81 pitches. He has yet to allow more than one earned run in a start and has a 1.62 ERA through three outings this season. Soroka will get his next start Saturday in Miami.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Reds' Alex Wood: Headed for exam
Manager David Bell said Wood will have his back examined Wednesday, Bobby Nightengale of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Wood experienced a setback after throwing a bullpen session at extended spring training last week. Look for his status to clear up following Wednesday's exam. In the meantime, Tyler Mahle should continue to fill in for Wood in the rotation.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Cleared to rejoin rotation
Peralta (shoulder) will rejoin the starting rotation this week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Peralta has been cleared to return after completing a minor-league rehab start with no issues, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk while striking out seven across 4.2 innings of work. It remains to be seen when Peralta will start and whose spot he'll take in the rotation. Prior to landing on the shelf, the 22-year-old compiled a 7.13 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 22:7 K:BB across four starts (17.2 innings).

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Activated ahead of start
Freeland (finger) was activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Brewers.
As expected, Freeland is set to rejoin the Rockies' starting rotation after missing just one turn in the rotation due to a blister on his left middle finger. The southpaw, who owns a 4.23 ERA and 30:10 K:BB through five starts (27.2 innings) this season, shouldn't face any restrictions in his first start back. DJ Johnson was optioned to Triple-A Albuqueque in a corresponding move.

Merrill Kelly SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Merrill Kelly: Misses out on two step
Kelly has been pushed back an extra day in the Diamondbacks' pitching schedule and will make his next start Wednesday at home against the Yankees, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Due to off days Monday and Thursday, the Diamondbacks could be planning to get by with a four-man rotation temporarily that would exclude struggling starter Zack Godley. That plan could still be in place, but Kelly won't benefit from a two-start week as a result, with ace Zack Greinke now in line for two turns by virtue of starting Tuesday's series opener. Kelly's fantasy managers shouldn't be too disappointed about him missing out on two starts, since Greinke's second turn is set to come Sunday at hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: In line for two starts
Greinke is scheduled to make his next start Tuesday against the Yankees, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
The Diamondbacks had initially listed Merrill Kelly as a starter for the first of their two home games versus the Yankees, but the team elected to take advantage of Monday's off day and move Greinke up in the pitching schedule. As a result of the change, Greinke may line up for a two-start week, with his second turn set to come Sunday against the Rockies at Coors Field in the event the Diamondbacks proceed with moving Zack Godley to the bullpen on at least a temporary basis.

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Ready to go after IL stint
The Cardinals activated Wacha (knee) from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday versus the Nationals.
St. Louis optioned reliever Ryan Helsley to Triple-A Memphis to clear a spot on the active roster for Wacha, who was sidelined for just over the minimum 10 days with the knee injury. The right-hander didn't require a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being reinstated and isn't expected to have any significant restrictions as he rejoins the Cardinals for what should be the first of two starts this week. He tentatively lines up for his second turn Saturday in Chicago against the Cubs.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Picks up win in relief
Urias gave up one run on three hits and one walk over two innings of relief Sunday against the Pirates, capturing the win in the Dodgers' 7-6 triumph. He struck out three during the 47-pitch outing.
Urias was making his second appearance out of the bullpen since losing his rotation spot just over a week earlier when Hyun-Jin Ryu returned from the 10-day injured list. Though he ran into some trouble Sunday in the eighth inning, he ultimately escaped with the lead before Kenley Jansen closed things out with a scoreless final frame. While the move to relief makes Urias' workload less dependable from week to week, he should at least deliver strong ratios on most occasions when he's called upon.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Slated for Monday's start
Freeland (finger) will be activated from the 10-day injured list to start Monday's game against the Brewers.
The Rockies will likely make Freeland's reinstatement official when the team releases its lineup for Monday's game in the hours leading up to the 7:40 p.m. EDT first pitch. Freeland missed the minimum amount of time due to the blister on his left middle finger and shouldn't face any restrictions in his return to action after completing two bullpen sessions recently without issue.

Trevor Rogers SP | BAL
Marlins' Trevor Rogers: Solid start at High-A
Rogers has posted a 2.01 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB through 22.1 innings for High-A Jupiter to begin the season.
It's always nice to see a pitcher not give up runs -- in fact, he's allowed only one unearned run over his last two starts -- but the rest of Rogers' line so far isn't that impressive. The 21-year-old southpaw isn't generating whiffs, a disappointing performance after he managed a 10.6 K/9 in his pro debut at Low-A last year, and he'll need to start dominating if he's going to live up to his billing as the 13th overall pick in the 2017 draft.
