Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Another rehab start on tap
Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that Kershaw (shoulder) will make another minor-league rehab start, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Kershaw had a successful bullpen session Saturday to set the table for his second rehab start next week, though it has not been determined if he will head to Double-A Tulsa or Triple-A Oklahoma City. The veteran left-hander threw 61 pitches over 4.1 innings during his first rehab start Thursday, so he should continue ramping up his workload from there. If all goes well, Kershaw could seemingly return to the majors for his 2019 debut shortly thereafter.

Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Notches first win in relief
Anderson allowed one run over three innings of relief and picked up his first win of the season in Friday's victory over the Cubs.
Anderson served up a homer to Willson Contreras, but that was the only baserunner he allowed after replacing starter Brandon Woodruff in the top of the fifth inning. Anderson has allowed just two earned runs (3.60 ERA) and three hits while posting an 8:2 K:BB over five innings of relief this season, but he isn't on the verge of reclaiming a spot in the rotation as of now. He presumably would be the top option should the Brewers need another starter down the road, however.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Fans eight in no-decision
Woodruff didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 13-10 win over the Cubs, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks over four innings while striking out eight.
The Brewers gave Woodruff plenty of run support -- they had an 8-0 lead after three innings -- but the right-hander just wasn't efficient enough to take advantage and land in the win column, throwing 57 of 88 pitches for strikes before hitting the showers. He'll take a strong 13:3 K:BB through nine innings into his next start Wednesday on the road against the Angels.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Hammered by Brewers
Quintana (0-1) took the loss Friday, coughing up eight runs on eight hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over three innings while striking out three as the Cubs fell 13-10 to the Brewers.
Oof. After a solid relief outing to begin the season, Quintana's first start was a disaster, as he dug a hole the Cubs' offense couldn't climb out of. The southpaw's HR/9 rate has been creeping up steadily over the last few years, and with MLB's official baseballs appearing to be livelier once again in 2019, keeping them in the yard could be a challenge for Quintana. He's next set to take the mound Thursday at home against the Pirates.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Brilliant against Marlins
Gausman (1-0) struck out seven and picked up the win Friday, allowing two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings in a 4-0 victory over the Marlins.
Making his first start of the season, Gausman walked the first two batters he faced but then got a double play to squelch the rally and settled down after that. The right-hander will get a much more challenging assignment in his next trip to the mound Wednesday on the road in Colorado.
-
Pablo Lopez SP | MIN
Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Struggles in Atlanta
Lopez (1-1) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings as the Marlins fell 4-0 to the Braves.
The young right-hander didn't show the same dominance he did in his first start, managing only six swinging strikes among his 89 pitches (52 total strikes), and two of the hits against Lopez left the yard. He'll look to rebound in his next trip to the mound Thursday in Cincinnati.

Sonny Gray SP | BOS
Reds' Sonny Gray: Deserves better fate in loss
Gray (0-2) allowed one run on three hits with three strikeouts and didn't walk anybody across 6.2 innings during a loss to the Pirates on Friday.
The right-hander deserved a much better fate, but for the third straight game against the Pirates, the Reds failed to score a run-- with Gray suffering the loss in two of those three games. The good news, though, is he was much better in this second outing, retiring 16 straight batters at one point. Gray has a 2.89 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and seven strikeouts in 9.1 innings this season. His next outing will likely come against the Marlins.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Tosses seven scoreless
Musgrove (1-0) threw seven shutout innings and allowed three hits while striking out eight and walking one in a victory over the Reds on Friday.
In his first start of the year, Musgrove was outstanding. He pumped the zone with 18 first-pitch strikes through 24 batters and induced 17 swinging strikes. He made it through seven innings in just 88 pitches, and fortunately for him, the Pirates broke through with their first run in the bottom of the seventh to give Musgrove the win, which he certainly earned. He hasn't allowed a run in nine innings over two appearances -- his first outing was a perfect two innings in relief Sunday. Musgrove's next start will likely come against the Cubs.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Hurls five shutout innings
Flaherty allowed six hits and two walks and struck out six over five scoreless innings Friday against the Padres. He didn't factor into the decision.
Flaherty dealt with runners on base throughout his day, although he managed to escape without surrendering a run. He left the contest in line for the victory, but his offense and bullpen would ultimately let him down. Flaherty is still searching for his first win of the 2019 campaign despite putting together two decent starts (four runs allowed over 9.1 frames).
