Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Goes 5.1 innings in Game 5
Woodruff gave up two runs on five hits with one walk over 5.1 innings in a loss to the Dodgers in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series. He struck out eight.
After Wade Miley walked the first batter of the game, Woodruff limited the Dodgers to only two runs in 5.1 innings. Unfortunately for Woodruff, Clayton Kershaw was spectacular, and the two runs would be enough to hang the loss on the 25-year-old. The right-hander now has 15 strikeouts with a 2.45 ERA through 10.1 innings in the postseason.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Wins in Game 5
Kershaw gave up one run on three hits with two walks over seven innings in a win over the Brewers in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series. He struck out nine.
A double off the bat of Lorenzo Cain was the only blemish in a stellar outing that earned Kershaw his second win of the postseason and has the Dodgers one win away from the World Series. The dominant performance was a return to form for the left-hander after he took the loss in Game 1, giving up four runs in only three innings. The 30-year-old is now 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 14 strikeouts in the playoffs.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Brewers' Wade Miley: Set for Game 6 start
Miley will start Game 6 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Friday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Miley started Game 5, but in a surprising twist, manager Craig Counsell elected to remove the left-hander following just one batter. Per Rosenthal, this was the club's plan all along, so Miley will be ready to go for Game 6 after using Wednesday's start as a light bullpen session.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Added to NLCS roster
Davies was added to the Brewers' NLCS roster versus the Dodgers, taking the place of Gio Gonzalez (ankle).
Gonzalez suffered the injury during the second inning of Tuesday's contest. Due to his removal from the active roster, Gonzalez will not be eligible to return for the World Series should Milwaukee advance. Davies was left off the postseason roster for the Brewers' first round and the start of the second after compiling a 4.77 ERA and 1.33 WHIP across 66 innings (13 starts) during the regular season.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Confirmed as Wednesday's starter
Kershaw will start Game 5 of the NLCS against Milwaukee on Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Kershaw had a rough outing in Game 1 at Miller Park, surrendering five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while recording just two strikeouts. He'll aim for redemption in his home park after Rich Hill takes the hill for Los Angeles in Game 4 on Tuesday.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Brewers' Wade Miley: Lined up to start Game 5
Miley will start Game 5 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Wednesday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Miley will get the ball on short rest after blanking the Dodgers through 5.2 innings in Game 2 on Saturday. Through two starts this postseason, the southpaw has allowed just five hits and one walk across 10.1 scoreless innings.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Expected to transition back to rotation
Martinez is expected to transition back to a starting role in 2019, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Martinez pitched out of the bullpen for the final two months of the 2018 season after making three trips to the disabled list with arm and right-side issues. He eventually took over as the team's closer for the final three weeks of the season and converted all five of his save chances. While manager Mike Shildt acknowledged he wouldn't mind Martinez back in the ninth inning in 2019, the skipper noted the plan is for the right-hander to prepare as a starter this offseason. "I think the front office and everybody would like to see him show up in spring training as a starter. I like those sentiments," Shildt said. Across 118 career major-league starts, Martinez owns a 3.36 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 8.9 K/9.

Hunter Greene SP | CIN
Reds' Hunter Greene: Hopes to begin throwing in December
Greene (elbow) said that his arm feels "fine" and that he hopes to resume throwing in December or January, Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Greene has been rehabbing in Arizona for the past two months after suffering a sprained UCL in his right elbow in late July. Though this sort of injury typically requires Tommy John surgery, Greene elected to go the non-surgical route since he didn't feel any sort of pop in the elbow when the ligament was sprained. A better sense of his timetable should come into focus once he's able to resume throwing.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Added to NLCS roster
Urias is on the Dodgers' 25-man NLCS roster against Milwaukee, Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports reports.
Urias wasn't on the roster for the club's NLDS versus Atlanta, but will join the fold ahead of this round as a left-handed option out of the bullpen. In order to make room, Scott Alexander was left off the roster. Urias only appeared in three big-league games this season after undergoing shoulder surgery last June. In those outings, he allowed just one baserunner while striking out seven across four scoreless relief innings.
