  • Chase Anderson RP | TEX

Brewers' Chase Anderson: Left off NLDS roster

Anderson is not on the Brewers' roster for the NLDS versus the Rockies.

Instead of adding a couple more starters, manager Craig Counsell opted to only carry three regulars from the rotation and move forward with multi-inning relievers such as Brandon Woodruff and Junior Guerra. Anderson hadn't pitched since Sept. 18 against the Reds and it became evident that Counsell just had more trust in other options during the homestretch.

  • Zach Davies SP | WAS

Brewers' Zach Davies: Not on NLDS roster

Davies was left off Milwaukee's roster for the NLDS against Colorado.

Manager Craig Counsell elected to add 11 pitchers to the 25-man roster but withheld Davies and fellow starter Chase Anderson from the team. In their absence, multi-inning relief options such as Brandon Woodruff (who is starting Game 1 on Thursday), Freddy Peralta and Junior Guerra are on the roster. Since rosters are able to change after each round of the postseason, there's a chance Davies will be back for the NLCS should the Brewers advance.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Initial out getter for Game 1

Woodruff will be the Brewers' initial out getter in Game 1 of their NLDS matchup with the Rockies on Thursday.

In layman's terms, Woodruff will start for the Brewers on Thursday, but Woodruff has operated solely as a reliever since September, so it's unlikely he will go too deep into Thursday's contest. Woodruff has been brilliant in small doses out of the bullpen since Sept. 2, allowing only one earned run over 12.1 innings (0.73 ERA) while giving up just 10 hits and posting a 16:3 K:BB.

  • Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Confirmed as Game 3 starter

Manager Dave Roberts said Buehler will start Game 3 of the NLDS against the Braves on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

As expected, Buehler will get the ball for Game 3 after propelling the Dodgers to a division title in Game 163 with his 6.2 scoreless innings against the Rockies. The young right-hander has been stellar in his first full season with the big club, posting a 2.62 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 151:37 K:BB in 137.1 innings during the regular season.

  • Tyler Anderson SP | LAA

Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Lined up to start Game 2 of NLDS

Anderson is scheduled to pitch Game 2 of the NLDS against the Brewers on Friday, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

Anderson will follow Antonio Senzatela in the rotation, lining up Kyle Freeland and German Marquez to pitch the next two games fully rested. The southpaw owns a 1.83 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB in his last three starts (19.2 innings). In his only other playoff appearance -- against the Diamondbacks in 2017 -- Anderson allowed two runs on two hits in one inning of relief.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Confirmed as Game 1 starter

Senzatela will pitch against the Brewers in Game 1 of the NLDS on Thursday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

As expected, Senzatela will take the mound for the series opener in Milwaukee after Kyle Freeland started Tuesday's wild-card contest against the Cubs. Over his past three starts, Senzatela has posted a 1.62 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 13 strikeouts in 16.2 innings.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Expected to start Game 1 of NLDS

Senzatela is the likely starter for Game 1 of the NLDS against Milwaukee on Thursday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Senzatela was available out of the bullpen during Tuesday's victory over the Cubs in the NL Wild Card Game, but manager Bud Black was able to avoid using the right-hander. During his final outing of the regular season, Senzatela allowed one earned run across 4.2 innings versus Philadelphia on Thursday. Look for the Rockies to confirm Senzatela as their starter by the end of the day Wednesday.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Set for Game 2 of NLDS

Kershaw will start Game 2 of the NLDS on Friday against the Braves, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

Kershaw would have been able to start Game 1 on normal rest with his last start of the regular season coming Saturday, but Hyun-Jin Ryu will instead take the mound. Kershaw can still pitch a potential Game 5 next Wednesday on regular rest, so this simply eliminates the possibility of him pitching on three days' rest for Game 4, a strategy which the Dodgers said they will not utilize this postseason, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

  • Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR

Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Will start NLDS Game 1

Ryu will start Game 1 of the NLDS against the Braves on Thursday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.

The assumption was that Clayton Kershaw would take the mound for Game 1, but manager Dave Roberts selected Ryu to take the hill instead as Kershaw gets Game 2. Ryu was excellent after coming off the disabled list in mid-August, posting a 1.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 53:5 K:BB over 52.2 innings.

  • Jose Quintana SP | COL

Cubs' Jose Quintana: Pitches five innings in no-decision

Quintana (13-11) took the hill in Monday's loss to the Brewers and wound up with a no-decision. He went five innings and gave up one run on six hits while striking out six.

It was a solid performance by Quintana to close out the regular season, although it did mark the fourth straight start that he only lasted five innings. He'll finish the year with a 4.03 ERA and 1.32 WHIP and hope that he'll make a start in the postseason if the Cubs can get by the Rockies in the wild-card round.
