German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Saddled with loss in Game 163
Marquez (14-11) allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out nine over 4.2 innings and taking the loss Monday against the Dodgers.
Marquez surrendered a two-run blast in the fourth inning followed by another two-run homer in the fifth before exiting in a 4-0 ballgame. The 23-year-old failed to lead his team to a division title, so the Rockies will take the field Tuesday in Chicago for the wild-card game. If Colorado can beat the Cubs, Marquez figures to pitch on Sunday against the Brewers.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Notches win in tiebreaker
Buehler (8-5) pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out three and securing the win Monday against the Rockies.
Buehler managed to keep Colorado off the scoreboard and led his team to a division title in Game 163. Following Monday's outing, he's given up just two earned runs over his previous four starts and recorded 29 punchouts (26.2 innings). The 24-year-old right-hander figures to play a key role in the NLDS. He could start Friday on short rest, but the Dodgers will likely play it safe and save him for Game 3 on Sunday.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: To start wild-card matchup
Freeland is slated to start Tuesday's wild-card game against the Cubs, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Freeland is set to toe the rubber with the hope of sending his team to the divisional series against Milwaukee. He's been outstanding on the hill over the last month of the season, going 5-0 with a 2.61 ERA and 31 strikeouts over 38 frames in September.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Delivers quality start versus D-backs
Lucchesi allowed two runs on four hits with no walks across six innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks. He struck out eight.
Lucchesi threw 70 percent of his pitches for strikes as he stifled the visitors for most of the afternoon. He allowed solo home runs in the fourth and sixth innings to account for all the major damage done against him, but unfortunately that was enough to keep him from earning his ninth win. Lucchesi was a pleasant surprise this season for the Padres, pacing the staff with a 4.08 ERA and a 10.0 K/9.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Struggles in season finale
Ray allowed two runs on five hits and four walks across four innings Sunday in a no-decision against the Padres. He struck out eight.
Ray allowed a constant stream of baserunners in this one, with the first run against him coming on a solo home run in the second inning. He settled down just a bit until he came back out for the fifth, but he allowed hits to the first three batters and was chased from the game after another run came around. After a dreadful start to the season, Ray finished on a much better note by allowing two earned runs or fewer in each of his final eight starts to bring his ERA to 3.93. He also posted another strong 12.0 K/9 and is eligible for arbitration this winter.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Gets win in season finale
Anderson (7-9) got the win against the Nationals on Sunday, giving up no earned runs on four hits over 7.2 innings, striking out five and walking three as the Rockies cruised to a 12-0 victory.
Anderson got scratched from his last start with a shoulder issue, but he appears to be fine as he logged an excellent outing to record his seventh win of the season. The left-hander wraps up the regular season with a 4.55 ERA, a 1.27 WHIP and 164 strikeouts over 176 innings.
-
Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Lasts only 2.2 innings
Flaherty (8-9) allowed four earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three across 2.2 innings to take the loss Sunday against the Cubs.
Flaherty worked out of a jam in the first inning to keep the Cubs off the board, but wasn't so fortunate in the third inning when he allowed five consecutive batters to reach base. He ended the season with a 3.34 ERA and 1.11 WHIP despite allowing 12 earned runs across his last 12.2 innings. On a more positive note, he threw 182.2 innings between Triple-A Memphis and the major-league level, meaning there shouldn't be an impactful innings restriction in 2019 for 22-year-old.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Tosses gem vs. Giants
Hill (11-5) got the win Sunday, allowing just two hits while striking out seven across seven scoreless innings against San Francisco.
Hill looked sharp on extra rest during Sunday's regular season finale, pitching a second consecutive seven-inning masterpiece after shutting down the Padres last weekend. The left-hander was able to lower his ERA to 3.66 and finished the campaign with 150 strikeouts in 132.2 innings.
-
Ranger Suarez SP | BOS
Phillies' Ranger Suarez: Throws three solid innings
Suarez allowed one run on one hit and two walks over three innings during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Braves. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.
Suarez likely would have been afforded a longer lease at a different point in the season, but he likely had a limited pitch count since he hadn't been used as a starter since joining the Phillies at the start of September. The 23-year-old had two unimpressive starts earlier in the season, but allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits across his two September appearances (six innings).
-
Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Takes loss in regular-season finale
Gausman (10-11) took the loss in Sunday's game against the Phillies, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits across five innings. He struck out six and walked three.
Gausman ran into trouble during the first inning as he gave up two runs on two hits and a walk, including a solo home run to Cesar Hernandez. The right-hander finishes the regular season with a 3.92 ERA and 1.30 WHIP across 183.2 total innings, but had a much improved 2.87 ERA and 1.14 WHIP after being traded from the Orioles to the Braves.
