Chase Anderson RP | TEX
Brewers' Chase Anderson: Works five innings in no-decision
Anderson gave up one run in five innings Saturday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out one in a no-decision against the Nationals.
Milwaukee eventually fell to Washington after an extended rain delay and late Nationals rally, though Anderson gutted out a useful outing to set up Milwaukee for a win upon his exit. The right-hander will often disappoint in the K column -- he hasn't recorded more than six since June 23, a stretch of 11 outings -- but can still deliver useful stats in the right matchup. His outlook feels brighter heading into his next turn, a Friday home effort versus the Giants.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Effective in no-decision
Strasburg threw six innings of two-run ball Saturday, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out seven in a no-decision against the Brewers.
Though he was in line for the loss before an extended rain delay and a Nationals rally for the win, Strasburg matched his inning and runs allowed from his Aug. 27 effort. The right-hander has been working on shortening his stride during his delivery, according to Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post, and said it started paying off in this outing. He delivered a whiff on 14 of his 57 strikes (24.6 percent), an encouraging sign that he's not just giving lip service. He'll face another tough NL Central foe in the Cubs on Thursday.

Kevin Gausman SP | CHC
Braves' Kevin Gausman: Delivers quality start against Bucs
Gausman didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 5-3 win over the Pirates, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits over six innings while striking out four.
The right-hander was on the hook for his second loss in six starts with the Braves before the offense bailed him out with a four-run eighth inning. Gausman still boasts a stellar 1.66 ERA since the trade to Atlanta, but he could have trouble maintaining his momentum in Thursday's road start against the Diamondbacks.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Drops decision to Cubs
Eflin (9-6) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk over five innings while striking out four as the Phillies fell 7-1 to the Cubs.
The right-hander has hit a rough patch, failing to last at least six innings in any of his last three starts, but his issues date back further than that. Eflin headed into the All-Star break with a 3.15 ERA, but his numbers since then have been decidedly mediocre -- a 5.53 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 35:13 K:BB in 42.1 innings, with only two quality starts in eight trips to the mound. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing Friday on the road against the Mets.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Nationals' Tommy Milone: Spins two scoreless rehab frames
Milone (shoulder) threw two scoreless innings for Double-A Harrisburg on Saturday, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out two, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports. The start was cut short by weather issues.
The southpaw might need one more outing before returning to the Nationals. Milone might have a shot at another start this year after the club traded Gio Gonzalez to the Brewers, but he'll likely wind up in the bullpen instead.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Stifles Phillies for 11th win
Hendricks (11-10) picked up the win Saturday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks over six innings while striking out four in a 7-1 victory over the Phillies.
It was the right-hander's fourth quality start in his last five trips to the mound, and Hendricks now sports a 3.26 ERA and 48:8 K:BB in 49.2 innings over eight starts since the All-Star break. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next outing Thursday on the road against the Nationals.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Wins in strong effort
Castillo (8-11) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out 11 across 6.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday against the Cardinals.
Castillo flashed his tantalizing potential again Saturday, dominating the Cardinals by recording 18 of his 20 outs via either strikeout or groundball. He was plenty deceptive -- he generated 20 swinging strikes on 104 total pitches -- and set a new career-high with the 11-strikeout performance. Castillo has been much improved since the All-Star break, turning in a 3.15 ERA to go along with 46 strikeouts in 40 innings despite two starts in which he allowed five earned runs.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Fans 11 in seven-inning no-decision
Matz allowed just one run on three hits and one walk while striking out 11 in seven innings Saturday, but he didn't factor into the decision as the Mets eventually defeated the Giants in 11 innings.
The southpaw told a familiar tale with some of the Mets' best arms -- chiefly Jacob deGrom -- by twirling a gem but not getting the reward of a win. Matz (5-11) now holds a 4.20 ERA, 8.7 K/9 and 3.2 BB/9 on the year. His inconsistency has hid signs that he could enjoy a breakout in 2019, but the 27-year-old's longtime battles with injuries always present caution when banking on too many innings. Still, he's started a career-high 24 times this year and might surpass the 132.1 frames he logged in 2016, and his skills still carry long-term intrigue. For the near future, he'll look to build on this brilliant turn Friday, when the Mets host the Phillies.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Braves' Kyle Wright: Contract selected by Atlanta
Wright will join the Braves as a September callup after his contract was selected Saturday.
Wright is one of a number of highly touted prospects in the Braves' system. He has long-term potential as a No. 2 starter, though he's likely to pitch in a bullpen role down the stretch. The 22-year-old has a 2.51 ERA in 28.2 innings for Triple-A Gwinnett following a late-July promotion.
