Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Pitches well in no-decision
Anderson allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Thursday.
Anderson and Ross Stripling were locked in a rare Coors Field pitchers duel before the bullpens combined to allow 11 runs. It was a nice bounce-back performance from Anderson after he was rocked for seven runs in Milwaukee his last time out. He will look to chip away at his 4.48 road ERA (3.47 ERA at home) next week in Houston.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Returns from DL
Stripling (toe) was activated from the 10-day DL prior to Thursday's start versus Colorado.
As expected, Stripling will be back in action after missing one turn through the rotation due to a toe injury. The right-hander has started 16 games out of his 27 appearances with the Dodgers this season, logging an impressive 2.68 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with a 119:15 K:BB across 104 innings.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Second bullpen on tap
Manager Dave Martinez said Strasburg (neck) will "probably" toss another bullpen session Friday, Jorge Castillo of The Washington Post reports.
Strasburg was able to throw a 42-pitch bullpen Tuesday, and claimed that he felt good Wednesday morning. Martinez added that the club will make plans for Strasburg's rehab outing following this upcoming bullpen session.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Strikes out just one in no-decision
Kershaw allowed two runs on six hits while striking out one over six innings in Wednesday's loss to the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.
Kershaw was not his usual dominant self in this one, getting just four swinging strikes and striking out a season-low one batter. Nonetheless, it was still good enough for a seventh consecutive quality start, and it was the third time in his last four outings he didn't issue a walk. The veteran lefty is once again posting sterling ratios with a 2.58 ERA and 1.07 WHIP, and now sits at 99:19 K:BB over 101.1 innings in 2018. He'll take on the Giants on Monday in his next scheduled start.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Nationals' Tommy Milone: Bludgeoned by Braves
Milone (1-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Nationals fell 8-3 to the Braves, coughing up seven runs on 10 hits -- including three home runs -- over six innings while striking out four.
At least the southpaw gave the Nats some innings to help an overtaxed bullpen. Milone's 19:0 K:BB in 18 innings since joining Washington is extremely impressive, but his susceptibility to the long ball has now saddled him with a 5.50 ERA. He'll look for a better result Monday in St. Louis.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Yields five in loss
Quintana (10-8) took the loss Wednesday, allowing five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over 6.1 innings against the Royals.
Quintana was working toward a quality start with just two runs allowed through six innings, but he allowed singles to the first two batters he faced in the seventh before the big three-run blow off the bat of Adalberto Mondesi. The lefty pitched OK until that point, but he only worked four swinging strikes on 98 pitches (63 strikes) and has given up at least five runs in two of his last three starts. He now sports a 4.28 ERA and 1.38 WHIP and will look to bounce back Wednesday against the Brewers.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Dodgers' Alex Wood: Successful sim game
Wood (hamstring) fired three innings in a simulated game Wednesday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Wood came through with no issues, and he's set to throw a bullpen session in the coming days before the Dodgers determine whether he's ready to rejoin the big-league rotation. The southpaw is eligible to return from the disabled list Aug. 14.
-
Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Struggles through four innings
Velasquez (8-9) took the loss Wednesday against the Diamondbacks, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks across four innings. He struck out two.
Velasquez made it through the first two frames unscathed before running into trouble, allowing four runs on five hits over the next two innings before being pulled after 79 pitches (47 strikes). It was the first time since June 19 (seven appearances, six starts) that the right-hander allowed more than three runs in an outing. He'll carry a 3.98 ERA and 10.0 K/9 into his next start, which will be a tough matchup against the Red Sox.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Fans nine for second straight win
Corbin (9-4) picked up the win Wednesday against the Phillies, allowing four hits while striking out nine batters across 7.1 scoreless innings.
Corbin was in control throughout this one, facing the minimum through five innings -- thanks to a pair of double plays -- while allowing just one baserunner to reach second base before handing the ball over in the top of the eighth inning after 103 pitches. The 29-year-old is now 3-0 with a 2.39 ERA and 34:2 K:BB in four starts (26.1 innings) since the All-Star break. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which will come on the road against Texas on Tuesday.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Fans 10 in loss
Marquez (9-9) took the loss Wednesday against the Pirates, allowing three runs on 10 hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out 10.
Marquez settled down after allowing all three runs on eight hits in the first three innings of the contest, firing three scoreless frames -- including an immaculate fourth inning that saw him strike out the side in nine pitches -- to secure his third consecutive quality start. The 23-year-old righty has now notched six quality starts in his last seven outings, compiling a 4-1 record to go with a 3.15 ERA and 10.8 K/9 over that stretch. Next up will be a difficult road matchup against the Astros.
