German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Shuts down Mariners
Marquez (7-8) got the win against Seattle on Friday, giving up one earned run on five hits over six innings, striking out five and walking none in Colorado's 7-1 victory.
This was a second straight solid outing from the 23-year-old righty, who lowered his ERA to 4.92 and his WHIP to 1.40. Those ratios aren't eye-popping, and he'd been in a rough stretch of five straight outings with at least four earned runs prior to his last two starts, so it's probably best to wait and see if he can keep this up before getting too bullish about his fantasy prospects. He'll have the Diamondbacks next in a home matchup Wednesday.

Joey Lucchesi RP | LAA
Padres' Joey Lucchesi: Takes loss in strong start
Lucchesi (4-4) took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Friday, giving up two earned runs on three hits over 5.1 innings, striking out five and walking one in San Diego's 3-1 defeat.
He pitched well against a tough Arizona lineup in this contest, but he ended up taking the loss anyway as his teammates could muster little offense against Diamondbacks starter Zack Godley. Lucchesi's been in a nice groove overall of late, as the left-hander has now yielded just two earned runs over his last 14.1 innings. The Padres haven't been letting him pitch too deep into games, which will continue to inhibit his potential to put up top-end numbers, but Lucchesi's 3.27 ERA and 1.18 WHIP have allowed to him to maintain fantasy value as a ratio stabilizer. He'll take the mound next against the Dodgers next Wednesday.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Roughed up Friday
Williams (6-7) surrendered five runs on five hits and two walks across 2.1 innings Friday as he took the loss against Philadelphia.
Williams didn't last long, as the Phillies scored twice in the second inning and three times in the third before he was lifted. He's struggled over his last two starts, allowing nine runs on nine hits and four walks over seven innings. The 26-year-old sits with a dismal 4.60 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 94 IP, but he'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for Wednesday against Washington.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Delivers quality start in win over Braves
Peralta (4-1) picked up the win in Friday's 5-4 victory over the Braves, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over six innings while striking out six.
It's the right-hander's third quality start in four big-league outings since being called back up in mid-June, and Peralta sports a 28:7 K:BB in 24 innings over that stretch. He'll take a 2.14 ERA into his next start Wednesday in Miami.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Settles for no-decision against Rays
DeGrom didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-1 win over the Rays, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over eight innings while striking out eight.
The right-hander threw 73 of 105 pitches for strikes and generated a massive 22 swinging strikes in a dominant performance, but once again the Mets' offense conspired to deny deGrom a win, waiting until the ninth inning to finally put away the Rays. He'll carry a stellar 1.79 ERA into his next outing Wednesday at home against the Phillies.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Could start Monday in San Diego
Buehler (ribs) could rejoin the Dodgers' rotation Monday in San Diego, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
He threw a bullpen session Friday, which sets him up to start somewhere Monday; it's just not clear if that will be for a minor-league affiliate or for the big club. That is also the first day he is eligible to come off the disabled list. If Rich Hill (neck) is able to pitch early next week, Buehler may have to wait to return to the majors, but given Hill's injury track record, that's very much up in the air.

Austin Gomber SP | TEX
Cardinals' Austin Gomber: Optioned to Triple-A
Gomber was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.
The Cardinals needed to clear a spot on the 25-man roster for Paul DeJong (hand), who came off the disabled list, and Gomber was the casualty. Look for the big righty to continue to work as a starter at Triple-A, even though he is more likely to be used as a reliever again if he rejoins the big club.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Earns seventh win
Mahle (7-6) allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 6.2 innings in a win over the Cubs on Friday afternoon.
The strikeouts came crashing back down after his 12-K outing against Milwaukee last weekend, but Mahle was effective nonetheless. He threw 70 of his 102 pitches for strikes and gave up just one extra-base hit. The 23-year-old has been much better at limiting the long ball recently, allowing just three homers over his last eight starts after serving up 13 in his first 10 outings this season. He will look to close out the first half on a high note next week in Cleveland.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Suffers another setback
Davies (shoulder, back) suffered another setback in his rehab Friday, as his back tightened up during a throwing session, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Manager Craig Counsell acknowledged that the Brewers would need to take a more conservative approach with Davies' rehab, and at this point it seems possible that we may not see him back in a big-league game before August or even September. Brent Suter hit the disabled list with forearm tightness, so it seems that Milwaukee will really need to lean on its young starting pitchers in the short term before potentially adding reinforcements at the trade deadline.

Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Suffers another setback
Eickhoff suffered another setback while recovering from a lat strain, feeling tingling in his fingers during a live batting practice session Friday, Meghan Montemurro of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.
Eickhoff experienced a similar issue back in May, leading to him being shut down from throwing for nearly a month. The second setback puts his season in jeopardy, as he could be dealing with some sort of unidentified chronic issue. Thoracic Outlet Syndrome was ruled out last time he was shut down, but he's set to be examined again to determine the source of the issue. More information on his timeline should be available after the examination.
