Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Strikes out nine in win over Brewers
Eflin (3-2) tossed six innings of two-run ball to earn the win Sunday against the Brewers, allowing three hits and one walk with nine strikeouts.
Eflin was outstanding through the early going, allowing just one baserunner through the first four innings. He ran into trouble in the fifth, when he allowed two runs on two hits, two hit batsmen and a walk, but he was able to escape the jam and complete an additional frame. This was the second straight quality start for Eflin, who also tied his season high in strikeouts. Now sporting a respectable 3.63 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP, Eflin is scheduled to take on this same Milwaukee team at home this weekend.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Strikes out eight Yankees
Lugo (2-1) got the win against the Yankees on Sunday, giving up just two hits and no runs over six strong innings, striking out eight and walking none in the Mets' 2-0 victory.
It was a brilliant outing from the right-hander, who got the start in this contest with Noah Syndergaard still out with a sprained finger. Lugo has now thrown 13 straight innings without allowing a run, bringing his ERA all the way down to 1.77 and WHIP to 0.85. If there was any doubt as to whether he'll remain the go-to option for as long as Syndergaard is sidelined, he probably erased it with this effort.

Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Gets fifth straight win
Stripling (5-1) got the win against the Braves, giving up two earned runs on four hits over 6.2 innings, striking out six and walking none in Sunday's 7-2 victory for the Dodgers.
Make that five straight wins and another solid stat line for the red-hot righty, who has now yielded just six earned runs and posted an outrageous 53:4 K:BB over his last seven starts. His current ratios of a 1.65 ERA and a 1.05 WHIP might not stay quite that pristine all season. However, Stripling has posted a 3.32 ERA over his 227.2 career innings at the big-league level, so he could very well continue to provide excellent fantasy value going forward, even if he doesn't stay quite this hot.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Takes loss
Freeland (6-6) allowed four earned runs on four hits and four walks while striking out eight across six innings to take the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
Freeland cruised through his first five innings of work -- a solo home run by Ketel Marte was the only blemish to that point -- before he allowed two hits and a walk in the sixth inning to allow three runs in the frame. He generated an impressive 15 swinging strikes and eight strikeouts, which tied a season best. He has been surprisingly effective this season, posting a 3.68 ERA and 1.24 WHIP through 13 starts and has shown the ability to pitch effectively at Coors Field.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Notches first victory
DeSclafani (1-1) allowed three runs (two earned) on 10 hits and two walks while striking out six across five innings as he picked up the win Sunday against the Cardinals.
St. Louis got to DeSclafani for two runs in the third, but Cincinnati answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning, followed by four more in the fourth to give its starter a 5-2 lead. The Reds would ultimately end up taking the series finale 6-3. DeSclafani was able to bounce back in his second start of the 2018 campaign after allowing four runs through five innings in his first big-league outing since September of 2016. He sits with a 5.40 ERA and 11:3 K:BB over 10 innings this season.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Tagged for five runs
Martinez (3-3) surrendered five runs on four hits and seven walks while striking out five across 3.2 innings as he took the loss Sunday against the Reds.
Martinez was plagued by walks, issuing a season-high seven in just 3.2 innings of work. He was also bitten by a four-run fourth inning from which he was unable to escape. In two starts since returning from a lat injury, Martinez has given up seven runs on eight hits and 12 walks across 7.2 innings. His next start won't get any easier, as he'll take the mound again Saturday against the Cubs.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Tough-luck loser Sunday
Hendricks (4-6) took the loss Sunday against the Pirates despite allowing just one earned run on three hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.
Hedricks allowed a home run to Josh Harrison to begin the game but then proceeded to shut down Pittsburgh for the rest of his outing. Unfortunately for him, the Chicago offense didn't score while he was in the game. Hendricks will take a solid 3.48 ERA into his next start, which is scheduled for Saturday in St. Louis.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Tosses quality start in loss
Urena (1-8) allowed three runs on on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts across six innings to take the loss Sunday against the Padres.
Urena allowed a sacrifice fly in the second inning and cruised until the sixth, when he allowed a two-run home run to Eric Hosmer. He did quite well to scatter baserunners all day until that point and avoided issuing a walk for the second time in the last seven outings. Urena has thrown the ball much better than his record suggests, allowing three runs or fewer six times in his past nine outings. He's next scheduled to pitch Friday against the Orioles.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Ready for Wednesday's start
Maeda (hip) feels ready to start Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Maeda's availability for that upcoming game was dependent on the results of his bullpen session Sunday. After his session, he said he felt fine and was prepared to make the start. The team hasn't officially named him the starter, but all signs point to him returning from the disabled list Wednesday.

Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Bullpen session Monday
Cueto (elbow) is scheduled to throw a 40-pitch bullpen session Monday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Cueto tossed a 35-pitch bullpen session Friday but wanted to throw two additional sessions and a live batting practice before beginning his minor-league rehab stint. He remains on track to potentially rejoin the rotation by the end of the month.
