Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Tosses simulated game Tuesday
DeGrom (elbow) threw a two-inning simulated game Tuesday and is on track to start Sunday against the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
DeGrom's workout was promising, as manager Mickey Callaway said that the righty's condition was better than expected. Barring any setbacks, deGrom is scheduled to return from the disabled list Sunday against Philadelphia. After seven starts (43.1 innings), deGrom owns a 1.87 ERA and 0.99 WHIP.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Activated ahead of start
Hill (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list Tuesday and will start against the Diamondbacks, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
As expected, Hill is set to return to the mound after spending the past three weeks on the DL with a finger issue. Now that he's healthy, the 38-year-old will look to shake off his slow start (6.00 ERA across 15 innings) as he matches up against Zack Godley and the Diamondbacks. Brock Stewart was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City to clear a roster spot for Hill.

P.J. Conlon SP | NYM
Mets' P.J. Conlon: Sent back to minors
Conlon was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
As expected, Conlon will head back to the minors after allowing three runs across 3.2 innings in a spot start Monday. He'll continue to serve as organizational pitching depth with Las Vegas, where he owns an unsightly 6.75 ERA across five starts (24 innings) this season. Corey Oswalt was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding roster move.

MacKenzie Gore SP | TEX
Padres' MacKenzie Gore: Hit hard in return from DL
Gore (finger) allowed four runs in two innings pitched in his return from the disabled list for Low-A Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The pitching prospect wound up missing just under a month due to a blister on his left middle finger. Gore fanned two in a scoreless first inning, but got hit hard in the second inning. The 19-year-old has now allowed six earned runs in five innings pitched for the TinCaps, but at least he has a 7:2 K:BB in that span.

Ian Anderson RP | ATL
Braves' Ian Anderson: Spins gem at High-A on Sunday
Anderson didn't factor into the decision for High-A Florida in Sunday's loss to Tampa, tossing seven scoreless innings and scattering two hits and a walk while striking out seven.
The right-hander's 3.81 ERA through six starts suggests he's had a bit of trouble adjusting to the Florida State League, but Anderson's 31:12 K:BB in 26 innings has been outstanding and he's put together a 12-inning scoreless streak over his last two outings. The Braves' No. 11 fantasy prospect can get lost in the shuffle in a deep system, but he still profiles as a future workhorse in the majors given his athleticism and strong three-pitch arsenal.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Beats Padres for fourth win
Strasburg (4-3) allowed three runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts through seven innings to earn the win Monday against the Padres.
Strasburg tossed his second straight quality start and his third in his past four outings, a stretch in which he owns a sharp 33:6 K:BB in 27.1 innings. Even though his five strikeouts tied a season low, Strasburg was still nasty, as he induced 13 swinging strikes, including eight on just 32 curveballs. But with a big lead for much of the game, Strasburg pitched more to contact in order to eat some innings, save the bullpen and bring home the win. Strasburg owns a 3.52 ERA and will make his next start Sunday against Arizona.

P.J. Conlon SP | NYM
Mets' P.J. Conlon: Allows three runs in no-decision
Conlon allowed three runs on four hits and two walks across 3.2 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Reds. He struck out one.
Conlon enjoyed a strong enough start through two scoreless innings, but he began to unravel a bit in the third, allowing a solo home run to Billy Hamilton. He ran into more trouble in the fourth, allowing two more runs on three hits before he was pulled with two outs. Conlon struggled in the minor leagues at the start of the season, and this uninspiring outing will likely make his stay with the big club a brief one.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Strikes out nine in scoreless outing
Eflin (1-0) tossed 6.2 scoreless innings while earning the win Monday against the Giants, allowing four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.
Eflin was electric in this one, inducing 14 swinging strikes as he recorded his highest strikeout total since July 2016. He scattered baserunners to great effect and only allowed two men past first base during his time on the mound. Eflin has struggled at this level in the past, but he's looked excellent through two starts in 2018, allowing just one earned run over 12.2 innings with 13 strikeouts and three walks. He'll look to keep it rolling Saturday against the Mets.
-
Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Goes eight strong innings in win
Hendricks (3-2) allowed two runs on six hits across six innings while earning the win Monday against the Marlins. He struck out three.
Hendricks induced weak contact to great effect, recording 11 groundball outs and nine flyouts as he gave up just two extra-base hits. He allowed single runs in the fifth and seventh innings, but he was staked to a large early lead and coasted to his third win of the season. Hendricks, who now has a 3.02 ERA to go along with a 1.03 WHIP, has allowed three earned runs or fewer in all but one of his outings this season. He'll face the White Sox at home next time out.

Yu Darvish SP | SD
Cubs' Yu Darvish: Placed on DL
Darvish was moved to the 10-day disabled list Monday with parainfluenza virus.
This move is retroactive to Friday, so Darvish will be eligible to return starting May 14. He's struggled to begin the 2018 season, posting a 6.00 ERA and 1.57 WHIP despite striking out 37 across 30 innings. Darvish will have to wait a bit longer before attempting to collect his first win of the year.
