Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Returns to throwing
Syndergaard (lat) will begin throwing Monday, Carlos Collazo of Baseball America reports.
Thor was expected to begin throwing within two weeks from July 10, so it seems like he's making quick progress in his rehab program. No word has come out as to how long his throwing program will last, although it almost certainly would be shorter if he were to come back as a reliever instead of as a starter. More information on his timetable should come forth once he lengthens his throws in the coming days.

Anthony DeSclafani RP | ARI
Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Will throw simulated game Tuesday
DeSclafani (elbow) will throw a two-inning simulated game Tuesday at the Reds' spring training complex in Arizona, Zach Buchanan of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Assuming the simulated work goes off without a hitch, DeSclafani, who has been sidelined since March with a strained right UCL, will cover three innings in his first rehab outing with the Reds' rookie-level Arizona team July 23. After that, DeSclafani would likely require a multi-start assignment at one of the Reds' full-season affiliates to build up his arm before potentially returning from the 60-day disabled list in early or mid-August. When healthy last season, DeSclafani was one of the Reds' top starters, submitting a 3.28 ERA and 105:30 K:BB over 123.1 innings.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Strikes out nine through five
Hill (6-4) allowed just one run on five hits while striking out nine batters through five innings during Sunday's win over Miami.
Hill has now collected 44 strikeouts through just 31 innings over his past five starts, and the lefty has surrendered only six runs during that dominant stretch. He's clearly settling in on the mound and has posted tremendous fantasy numbers when healthy over the past two seasons. Everything appears to be trending in the right direction for an impressive stretch drive from Hill, and he projects to face the Braves at Dodger Stadium in his next start.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Dominates in Cubs debut
Quintana (5-8) pitched seven scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts during Sunday's win over Baltimore. He allowed just three hits.
The Cubs ponied up for Quintana, and the lefty didn't disappoint in his debut start. Additionally, the win completed Chicago's weekend sweep of the Orioles to pull within 4.5 games of the first-place Brewers. Quintana has now allowed only 12 earned runs through 47 innings over his past eight starts, and he's struck out 57 batters during that span. Quintana is clearly locked in, and pitching for a contender only boosts his fantasy value. He projects to face St. Louis at Wrigley Field in his next start.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Fans five Cards in no-decision
Williams allowed two runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out five batters through 5.2 innings during Sunday's win over St. Louis. He didn't factor into the decision.
The 25-year-old righty has settled into a nice groove and allowed three runs or fewer in 11 of his past 12 starts. Williams owns a respectable 4.69 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 6.6 K/9 for the year, and his fantasy value is on the rise in deep leagues with his improved recent form. A tough road start at Coors Field against the Rockies is on deck for Williams, though.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Opens second half with no-decision
Martinez allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five batters through seven innings during Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh. He didn't factor into the decision.
Martinez had surrendered five runs in each of his previous two starts before the All-Star break, so it's encouraging to see him open the second half with a solid outing. He sports a 3.36 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 for the campaign and remains a matchup-proof starter going forward. Martinez projects to face the Cubs at Wrigley Field in his next start.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Roughed up versus Rockies
Matz (2-3) wasn't able to record more than three outs during Sunday's loss to the Rockies, allowing seven runs off nine hits and one walk while striking out two.
This disastrous outing marked the shortest of Matz's young career while also tying the most amount of runs he has given up in any contest throughout his 35 starts at the big-league level. From the beginning of the game, it was apparent that Matz just didn't have his typical stuff, giving up five hits in the opening frame. This was the second underwhelming start in a row for Matz after pitching two seven-inning shutouts during his previous two times on the bump. His next scheduled start comes Friday against the A's, where he will look to bounce back from Sunday's loss.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Called up to Triple-A
Buehler was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Alex Freedman of 570 AM LA Sports reports.
The top pitching prospect in the Dodgers' system heads to the next level after putting together 11 quality starts with Double-A Tulsa over the last few months. Buehler had posted an ERA of 3.49 with a 1.12 WHIP and a 64:15 K:BB over the course of 49 innings of work. He remains a possibility to join the big-league club in September if he's able to show that he can handle the skill level at Triple-A during the next couple months, and he will make his first start with Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Tyler Mahle SP | ATL
Reds' Tyler Mahle: Bounces back after rough outing
Mahle allowed just one hit Saturday for Triple-A Louisville, throwing six shutout innings while striking out seven and walking three. The one hit he allowed came in his last inning of work.
This comes on the heels of his worst outing of the year, a one-inning stint against Charlotte last week where he gave up five runs on seven hits. In four starts for Louisville he has a 3.54 ERA and 23:7 K:BB over 20.1 innings.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Expected to join rotation Tuesday
Senzatela is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque to start Tuesday against the Padres, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
After tossing three innings in relief Saturday when starter Tyler Chatwood (calf) was removed after recording just one out, Kyle Freeland no longer lines up for a start early next week, creating an opening that Senzatela will likely be tabbed to fill. Chatwood ended up being placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, so there could be room in the rotation for both Freeland and Senzatela beyond Tuesday. Senzatela, who had made his last three appearances in relief for the Rockies before being demoted to Albuquerque prior to the All-Star break, has carried a 4.79 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over his 15 starts with the big club on the season.
