Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Set for short-term move to bullpen
Freeland is expected to settle into a bullpen role in the short term while the Rockies look to limit his innings, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Manager Bud Black hasn't publicly confirmed that Freeland would be removed from the rotation, but his usage out of the bullpen Saturday against the Mets more or less suggests as much. After Tyler Chatwood was pulled Saturday after giving up four runs in the first inning while recording only one out, Freeland came on to toss three scoreless frames, conceding no hits and one walk while striking out four. Chatwood was later diagnosed with a calf strain and placed on the 10-day disabled list Sunday, so it remains to be seen if the Rockies will stick with their plan to keep Freeland in the bullpen, as the club has few other starting alternatives with Chad Bettis (illness) and Tyler Anderson (knee) also on the shelf.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Improves to 4-2
Lugo allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five batters through 6.2 innings during Saturday's win over Colorado.
Outside of a rough outing against the Nationals (six runs allowed through five innings), Lugo has fared well for the Mets and fantasy owners. He's sporting a 4.50 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 6.3 K/9 through 40 innings for the campaign, so expectations should remain in check moving forward, but Lugo is at worst a streaming option or low-priced flier in daily contests when the Mets draw a favorable matchup. Lugo projects to face St. Louis at Citi Field in his next start.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Takes loss against Nats
Castillo (1-2) allowed three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out six batters through six innings during Saturday's loss to Washington.
Considering the opponent, this was a respectable showing from the rookie. Castillo has now pitched at least five innings in each of his five starts with the Reds and boasts a solid 3.41 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 11.2 K/9. The strikeouts are particularly impressive, and Castillo also sports an encouraging 56.2 groundball rate. The 24-year-old righty is likely to have some start-to-start inconsistency going forward, but he's definitely worth considering in the majority of fantasy settings. Castillo projects to face the Diamondbacks at Great American Ball Park in his next start.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Fans six in no-decision
Corbin (6-9) allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six across five innings in a no-decision against the Braves on Saturday.
Corbin allowed a home run and RBI double to Brandon Phillips to account for the only runs scored on him, and although he left with a one-run deficit, the offense came back to take him off the hook for a potential loss. He's held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts to lower his ERA from 5.38 to 4.66, and he's been a reliable fantasy option over the past month. He'll make his next start Friday against the Nationals.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Fans seven Brewers
Nola allowed just two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out seven batters through six innings during Saturday's loss to Milwaukee. He didn't factor into the decision.
With another strong outing, Nola's down to a 3.54 ERA and 1.20 WHIP for the season while sporting a high-end 9.2 K/9. After a bit of a rough start to the campaign, the 24-year-old righty has now allowed two runs or fewer in six of his past eight outings with at least six strikeouts in each start. Very few hurlers have shown that consistency this year, and considering his pedigree, his climbing fantasy stock is warranted. Nola projects to face the Brewers at Citizens Bank Park in his next start.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Lasts just three innings Saturday
Urena (7-4) allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three across three innings to take the loss Saturday against the Dodgers.
Urena gave up a pair of homers in the third inning that accounted for all five of the runs he allowed and forced his early exit from the contest. This was the first time in eight starts that he's allowed more than three earned runs, and he continues to be a useful fantasy option. He'll make his next start Friday against the Reds.

Alex Wood RP | ATH
Dodgers' Alex Wood: Fires six shutout innings Saturday
Wood (11-0) pitched six shutout innings on three hits and one walk while striking out four to earn the victory on Saturday against the Marlins.
Wood dominated as he seems to do every time he toes the rubber, and after leaving with a big lead, he easily coasted to his 11th victory of the season. He's only allowed more than one earned run in a start a single time over the past two months, and his 1.56 ERA has made him one of the greatest draft-day values of 2017. He'll make his next start Friday against the Braves.

Jameson Taillon SP | TOR
Pirates' Jameson Taillon: Suffers third loss of year
Taillon (5-3) allowed four runs on eight hits while striking out five across five innings to take the loss Saturday against the Cardinals.
Taillon did quite well his first time through the lineup, but he then allowed a run in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth, as the Cardinals chased him from the contest. His poor effort comes on the heels of him having allowed just two runs over his last three starts, and he should still be a player who's earned plenty of trust from fantasy owners, especially as he currently boasts a 3.06 ERA. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Brewers.
-
Lance Lynn SP | STL
Cardinals' Lance Lynn: Fires 6.1 scoreless innings in win
Lynn (8-6) allowed no runs on eight hits while striking out three over 6.1 innings to earn the win Saturday against the Pirates.
Lynn was in a scoreless contest entering the fourth inning before the Cardinals came up with four runs of support over the next two innings to help him earn his eighth victory of the campaign. After struggling through a pair of rough starts in June, he's allowed just five earned runs over his last four starts to lower his ERA from 3.86 to 3.40, and despite a bit of inconsistency, he's a strong lineup option. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Mets.

Brandon Woodruff SP | MIL
Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Begins rehab assignment
Woodruff (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment in the Arizona Rookie League on Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The young pitching phenom has been out since June while recovering from a right hamstring injury, and manager Craig Counsell had already announced he wouldn't be activated until late July. The hard-throwing righty will likely need a few rehab outings before being deemed ready to return to Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he owns a 4.12 ERA over 12 starts this year.
