Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Allows single run through five
Eickhoff allowed just a single run on five hits and three walks while striking out just two batters through six innings in a no-decision against Arizona on Saturday.
Eickhoff had allowed at least three runs in each of his last nine starts for a 6.46 ERA and 1.78 WHIP, so Saturday's outing against a strong offense was his best in some time. Still, with an underwhelming 4.81 ERA and 1.51 WHIP for the campaign, Eickhoff is hardly a go-to fantasy asset. He projects to face the Diamondbacks again in his next start, but this time, the venue is hitter-friendly Chase Field.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Bombed by Orioles
Wainwright (7-5) allowed nine runs on seven hits (including three home runs) and a walk while striking out just one batter through 1.2 innings during Saturday's loss to Baltimore.
Allowing three homers stands out more than anything, as Wainwright had surrendered just five bombs through his first 13 outings of the year. The veteran has allowed four runs or more in seven of his 14 starts and sports a discouraging 5.75 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 7.6 K/9 for the campaign. However, Wainwright has also mixed in a number of gems, so he's still on the fantasy radar as a high-risk, modest-reward option. He'll look to bounce back at home against Pittsburgh in his next start.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Notches eighth win Saturday
Freeland (8-4) got the win Saturday against the Giants, allowing just one earned run in six innings. He struck out three batters and allowed eight hits over 94 pitches.
The southpaw had a nice bounce-back outing Saturday after a shaky start against the Pirates earlier in the week. He was able to work around some uncomfortable situations and hold the Giants to one run despite allowing 10 hitters to get on base. Freeland's ERA now sits at 3.42, which is the best among qualified Rockies starters. What's more, Freeland has shown a strong comfort level in the hitter-friendly environment of Coors Field, where he now has a 3.21 ERA. Freeland is lined up to oppose Hyun-Jin Ryu at Dodger Stadium next Friday.

Walker Buehler SP | SD
Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Fans six in return from MiLB DL
Buehler (undisclosed) threw five innings in his return from the disabled list to Double-A Tulsa on Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six.
Buehler managed to only miss one start as a result of his DL stint, and although he didn't factor into the decision Thursday, the pitching prospect has been great in his first taste of Double-A. In six starts, he holds a 3.04 ERA and has struck out 29 batters over 26.2 innings. He'll continue to develop as a starter in his first full professional season.

Jordan Lyles RP | KC
Rockies' Jordan Lyles: Season-long struggles continue
Lyles has a 7.06 ERA and 1.40 WHIP across 29.1 innings this season.
The 26-year-old is second in innings pitched out of the Rockies' bullpen this season, but has yet to perform with any consistency. Lyles rarely sniffs anything beyond low-pressure situations and features a paltry 6.4 K/9. The right-hander has given up eight home runs, but has walked only six batters this season.

Antonio Senzatela RP | MIL
Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Picks up ninth win of season
Senzatela (9-2) picked up the win Friday night against the Giants, allowing five runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out six and walked one.
The Rockies' offense bailed Senzatela out, despite him giving up three home runs. The right-hander, who is now tied for the league lead in wins (nine), receives the best run support in all of baseball at 7.14 runs per game, which helps negate his 4.10 ERA.
-
Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Allows three first-inning runs to Cubs
Williams allowed three first inning runs during Friday's loss to the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision and struck out three batters over five frames.
Tyler Glasnow's recent demotion to the minors has paved the way for Williams to stick in the rotation. Williams owns a 5.16 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 5.9 K/9 for the year, and his 4.66 FIP isn't an encouraging mark, either. It's probably safe to ignore Williams outside of cavernous mixed and NL-only settings at this stage of the game. He projects to face the Brewers at Miller Park in his next start.
-
Juan Nicasio SP | TEX
Pirates' Juan Nicasio: Blows third save Friday
Nicasio (1-3) allowed four runs without recording an out to blow his third save of the season during Friday's loss to the Cubs.
After Tony Watson was removed from the closer role, Nicasio was expected to split ninth-inning duties with Felipe Rivero, so Friday's outing was discouraging. Still, Nicasio owns a rock-solid 2.45 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 9.2 K/9 for the season, so his body of work leading into Friday had been strong. It's probably best not to make any hasty roster decisions yet.

Sandy Alcantara SP | MIA
Cardinals' Sandy Alcantara: Fires six shutout innings at Double-A
Alcantara (3-4) fired six scoreless innings in Double-A Springfield's win over Arkansas on Thursday, allowing two hits and four walks while striking out four.
After a rocky beginning to the season, the 21-year-old right-hander has settled down over his last three outings, with Thursday's being his best since his first start of 2017. Alcantara has given up just two earned runs on 11 hits over the 17 innings encompassing that trio of starts, lowering his ERA from 7.09 to 5.48 and his WHIP from 1.64 to 1.48 in the process. The young prospect naturally remains a work in progress, but his recent body of work certainly provides reason for optimism.
-
Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: ERA climbs to 4.76 after loss
Nola (3-5) allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out six batters through six innings during Friday's loss to Arizona.
It took Nola 106 pitches (66 strikes) to get through six frames Friday, as control struggles continue to cap the young righty's upside. He's been hit and miss this season, and considering his pedigree, Nola's fantasy results aren't matching the perceived value his name carries. After all, his 4.76 ERA and 1.35 WHIP are far from must-start marks in most leagues. He projects to face the Cardinals at Citizens Bank Park in his next start.
