Dylan Cease SP | TOR
Cubs' Dylan Cease: Exits outing with lower body injury
Cease exited Thursday's outing with a lower-body injury.
The 21-year-old appeared to suffer the injury while covering third base and was ultimately removed from the contest. The severity of Cease's injury has yet to be disclosed, but as one of the Cubs' prized prospects, his status will be one to monitor. He owns a 2.23 ERA with a whopping 50 strikeouts in just 32.1 innings at Low-A South Bend this season.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Pirates' Tyler Glasnow: Limits Nats to collect second win
Glasnow (2-3) allowed four runs -- two earned -- on three hits and three walks while striking out six batters over five innings during Thursday's win over Washington.
It's been a discouraging start to the season for the touted righty. Glasnow has showcased his swing-and-miss stuff with a 9.7 K/9, but his 7.34 ERA and 1.95 WHIP are crippling ratios. In particular, Glasnow's 6.3 BB/9 hasn't enabled him to pitch deep into games or have fantasy success. Fine-tuning his command will be essential to Glasnow taking advantage of his natural gifts, and most notably his mid-90s heat. A road start against the Braves is up next for the 23-year-old.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Rehab start set for Friday
Maeda (hamstring) is set to pitch four innings at High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Friday, SB Nation's Eric Stephen reports.
The right-hander's pitch count will be limited to 60, and if his outing goes off without incident, he'll be lined up to start Wednesday or Thursday against the Cardinals. Maeda's rehab has gone well to this point, and there was speculation earlier in his DL stint that he'd be activated after the minimum 10 days. While that won't be the case, Maeda is still nearing a return within the next week.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Throws first quality start of season
Davies (5-2) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings Thursday in a win over San Diego. He struck out three.
It was a solid performance for the 24-year-old righty, who got through the sixth inning for the first time this season. He has now won five of his last six decisions, and looks to be trending in a positive direction after a disappointing April in which he posted a 6.57 ERA and 1.86 WHIP. He'll take the mound again Wednesday at home against Toronto.

Zach Eflin SP | BAL
Phillies' Zach Eflin: Roughed up Wednesday
Eflin allowed seven runs on 11 hits over four innings Wednesday in a 9-3 loss to the Rangers. He struck out one and walked two.
Eflin entered Wednesday's game having allowed no more than three runs in any of his previous starts. The 23-year-old righty told Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia that he was struggling to locate his pitches and the Rangers took advantage. Eflin will try to bounce back in his next start against the Rockies in Philadelphia.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Picks up win Wednesday
Hendricks (3-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in Wednesday's 7-5 win over the Reds.
After a bumpy beginning to the campaign, Hendricks has now delivered quality starts in four of his last five trips to the mound. Control remains an issue for him, however, as he's walked multiple batters in seven straight starts and his 3.6 BB/9 is a far cry from the 2.1 and 2.2 marks he posted the last two seasons. The 27-year-old will look for win No. 4 on Monday at home against the Giants.
-
Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Turns in neat outing against Nats
Cole (2-4) held the Nationals to a single run over seven innings Wednesday, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out three in a 6-1 win.
Despite coming into this game with a 3.06 ERA and 1.06 WHIP (both of which he only improved upon), Cole had been held to just one win in eight starts because of the shortcomings of his offense, which scored five runs combined in his four losses. The Pirates don't look like a very good team this year, so wins may not be easy to come by for Cole, but his habit of pitching deep into games will pay off for him.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Start pushed to Thursday
Marquez will start Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Marquez won't have his turn skipped in the rotation after Wednesday's rainout, as he's now scheduled to make his next start just a day later. He'll start the the first game while Kyle Freeland will toe the rubber for Game 2 of the doubleheader.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Wednesday's start postponed
Marquez's scheduled start against the Twins on Wednesday was postponed, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Given the game is already set to be played as a doubleheader Thursday, Marquez will likely just see his start pushed back a day, though that hasn't been confirmed yet. The 22-year-old currently owns a 4.88 ERA through four starts (24 innings) with the big club this season.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Allows just one earned run in loss to Astros
Urena (1-2) allowed three runs -- one earned -- on six hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 5.2 innings during Wednesday's loss to Houston.
The 25-year-old righty has allowed just three earned runs over 17.2 innings through his three starts this season. It's an impressive stretch, and Urena has coveted mid-90s velocity. A speculative add isn't out of the question, and at worst, Urena is worth keeping tabs on. He lines up to make his next start against the Athletics at pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum.
