Johnny Cueto SP | LAA
Giants' Johnny Cueto: Pitches well against former club
Cueto held his former team to two runs on five hits over eight innings Friday. He walked three and struck out six but did not factor into the decision in a 17-inning win over the Reds.
Cueto has looked like his old self of late, throwing four consecutive quality starts while posting a 2.86 ERA and 1.00 WHIP this month. An increase in walks (2.6 BB/9) and home runs (1.4 HR/9) have led to an inflated 4.15 ERA on the year, but the veteran has done a better job of limiting those categories recently and his ERA should follow suit. Cueto's next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Dodgers at home, where he owns a 3.00 ERA compared to 4.94 on the road.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Next start delayed
Ryu won't start Tuesday's game against the Giants, Eric Stephen of True Blue LA reports.
The Dodgers will be activating Rich Hill (finger) from the disabled list in the near future. The current plan is for the team to use a six-man rotation going forward. As such, Hill has been tabbed to start Tuesday and Clayton Kershaw on Wednesday, which leaves Ryu taking the mound Thursday against the Marlins.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Slated to start Wednesday
Kershaw will start Wednesday against the Giants, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
By all indications, the Dodgers will continue to deploy a six-man rotation for the time being, but Kershaw will be kept on normal rest for this turn. Kershaw has suggested in the past that he doesn't particularly like pitching on extra rest. The three-time Cy Young winner picked up a victory over the Rockies at Coors Field on Friday, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out four batters. It was his second start of the season at Coors.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Rides offense to win Friday
Corbin (3-4) gave up four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in Friday's 11-4 win over the Pirates.
Arizona scored all 11 of its runs in the third and fourth innings, allowing Corbin to coast to an easy victory despite a less-than-sharp outing. The 27-year-old lefty will try to rebound, or at least hope for plenty of run support once again, in his next start Wednesday at home against the Mets.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Pirates' Tyler Glasnow: Crushed by D-backs on Friday
Glasnow (1-3) was roughed up for seven runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.1 innings in Friday's 11-4 loss to the Diamondbacks. He struck out three.
The 23-year-old continues to take his lumps in the majors, and Glasnow has given up at least three runs in every start this season to saddle him with a 7.98 ERA and 2.08 WHIP through 29.1 innings. He does have a 9.5 K/9, but that's about the only silver lining to his performance so far. Things won't get any easier for Glasnow in his next start Thursday at home against the Nationals, who have a .352 wOBA against right-handers this season.

Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Collects win No. 6 on Friday
Kershaw (6-2) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over seven innings in Friday's 6-2 win over the Rockies.
The Dodgers staked him to a five-run lead in the second inning, and Kershaw cruised to an easy victory from there, needing only 85 pitches (58 strikes) to get through seven frames. With Brandon McCarthy (shoulder) and Rich Hill (finger) both set to rejoin the rotation early next week, Kershaw will get an extra day of rest before his next start Thursday at home against the Marlins.

Marco Gonzales RP | TEX
Cardinals' Marco Gonzales: Joining Triple-A Memphis' rotation
Gonzales (elbow) is ready to join Triple-A Memphis' starting rotation, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Gonzales has been throwing regularly in extended spring training for multiple weeks without setbacks, and allowed one earned run on two hits over six innings while recording seven strikeouts on May 7 for High-A Palm Beach against Lakeland. The 25-year-old southpaw last pitched in the majors for the Cardinals in 2015, making one start and compiling a 13.50 ERA over 2.2 innings. He's projected to be in line for multiple rehab appearances before his next step is determined.

Jose Urena SP | LAA
Marlins' Jose Urena: Fires quality start in Friday loss
Urena (1-1) allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four across six innings to take the loss Friday against the Braves.
Despite giving up more than his fair share of baserunners, the only damage Urena suffered was when he allowed a two-run homer to Tyler Flowers in the second inning, resulting in a quality start. He's pitched well in each of his two starts, increasing the probability that he could hold onto a rotation spot, at least for a while. He'll make his next start Wednesday against the Astros.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Set for work in extended spring training
Lugo (elbow) will throw in extended spring training Saturday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
The Mets are looking at early June as a best-case scenario for Lugo's return -- same with Steven Matz (elbow). Lugo was diagnosed with a slight UCL tear in early March but opted against surgery. It's uncertain what his role will be upon activation.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Set to throw in extended spring training
Matz (elbow) will throw in extended spring training Saturday, Marc Carig of Newsday reports.
Apparently Matz has a chance to return to the Mets in early June if all goes well. The lefty resumed throwing in mid-April after being shut down for several weeks with a flexor tendon strain. The talent is there, but Matz's extended injury history should be at the forefront of all prospective owners' minds.
