  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Tosses quality start despite no-decision Sunday

Wacha allowed two runs on five hits and two walks across six innings en route to a no-decision in Sunday's start against the Braves. He struck out six.

Wacha cruised into the sixth inning, but he labored a bit and allowed two runs on four consecutive hits before getting a double-play ball to escape the jam. He was removed prior to the seventh with a two-run lead but saw his third win of the season fade away as the bullpen surrendered a pair of late runs. Still, Wacha has delivered a quality start in five of his six outings this season and carries a solid 3.19 ERA, which he has supplemented with a useful 8.3 K/9. He will look to continue what has been a nice start to the campaign Saturday against the Cubs.

  • Johnny Cueto SP | LAA

Giants' Johnny Cueto: Fans 10 hitters but loses

Cueto (4-2) allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits (two home runs) while walking one and striking out 10 over seven innings in Sunday's 4-0 loss to the Reds.

Homers were Cueto's downfall in this one, but San Fran's struggling offense also couldn't get anything going against Scott Feldman, either. In two starts against his former squad, Cueto has allowed 10 runs in 12 innings. On the bright side, his 10 strikeouts were a season high, and it was the 14th time in his career he's reached double-digit strikeouts. Expect the right-hander to be just fine, as his 8.2 K/9 and xFIP of 3.87 should ease fantasy owners' minds after his second loss.

  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Not currently on trade market

Pittsburgh general manager Neal Huntington addressed speculation from the New York Daily News that stated Cole could become a prime trade target for the Yankees. "Our expectation is that Gerrit is going to be a Pirate for a while," Huntington told DK Pittsburgh Sports.

Cole agreed to a $3.75 million deal in the offseason, avoiding arbitration. Agent Scott Boras will likely take the right-hander to free agency following the 2019 campaign, leading the Pirates to move the 26-year-old at some point in the coming years. For his part, Cole has upped his stock in 2017, throwing the ball as well as he has in his career. Aside from a five-run, fifth-inning Opening Day, he's crafted a 2.14 ERA in 42 innings and reasserted himself as Pittsburgh's ace.

  • Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Picks up fifth win Saturday

Kershaw (5-2) held the Padres to just one run on five hits over 7.1 innings Saturday. He did walk four batters but also struck out nine in a 10-2 win.

The four walks -- against a team that doesn't get on base a ton -- were the only blemish on an otherwise dominant day. Kershaw was visibly upset after being unable to place some of his pitches where he wanted Saturday, despite posting a pitching line others could only hope for, but that is the byproduct of being a perfectionist on the mound. With a 2.40 ERA and a 7.6 K/BB ratio, the 29-year-old has been as advertised this season.

  • Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Shifted to 60-day DL

Syndergaard (lat) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Sunday.

With a significant rehab timeline ahead for Syndergaard, the Mets transferred their ace to the inactive list with the longer timetable to open up a spot on the 40-man roster. Syndergaard is expected to be shut down for at least six weeks, so he'll need plenty of time before he's even ready to begin ramping up his rehab. He'll target a return to action following the All-Star break.

  • Tommy Milone SP | SEA

Mets' Tommy Milone: Claimed by Mets

Milone was claimed off waivers by the Mets on Sunday.

Milone was designated for assignment by the Brewers on May 1 after posting a 6.43 ERA over 21 innings, including three starts and three relief appearances. The Mets' rotation is in shambles at the moment, which gave the team reason to claim the 30-year-old southpaw. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports Milone is a candidate to soon replace Rafael Montero in the starting rotation.

  • Braves' Mauricio Cabrera: Activated, sent to Triple-A

Cabrera (elbow) was activated from the disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.

Cabrera has the tools to pitch in high-leverage situations one day, but he needs to work on his command, which was an issue even before the ailment. Until he can tune up his control, the hard-throwing right-hander will remain in the minors.

  • Marlins' Odrisamer Despaigne: Optioned back to minors

Despaigne was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Sunday.

Despaigne was knocked around to the tune of eight runs during his Saturday start, but the right-hander isn't completely to blame, as two fielding errors led to five of those runs being unearned. Nonetheless, the Marlins will send him down to the minors in favor of additional bullpen help in the series finale. With a team day off next Thursday, the organization is likely hopeful that either Wei-Yin Chen (arm fatigue) or Edinson Volquez (thumb) will be able to come off the disabled list for what would have been Despaigne's next turn in the rotation Friday.

  • Marlins' Odrisamer Despaigne: Allows eight runs to Mets

Despaigne (0-1) allowed eight runs -- three earned -- on five hits and three walks while striking out four batters over 4.2 innings during Saturday's loss to the Mets.

Both Justin Bour and Martin Prado made fielding errors that led to five unearned runs, so Despaigne's outing probably wasn't as bad as the stat line. However, his career 4.90 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 5.4 K/9 and 4.41 FIP are hardly fantasy-relevant numbers. If he sticks in the rotation for another start, Despaigne lines up to face the Braves, which projects as an easier matchup.

  • Julio Teheran SP | BAL

Braves' Julio Teheran: Allows four runs in loss to Cards

Teheran (2-3) surrendered four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out just three batters over five innings during Saturday's loss to St. Louis.

It's been a poor four-game stretch for Teheran. He's allowed 19 runs through 21.1 innings with just 15 strikeouts and a single win. His current 4.69 ERA and 1.51 WHIP are crippling ratios, and after posting a respectable 7.9 K/9 over the previous four years, Teheran's 6.7 mark is discouraging. He'll look to turn things around in a road start against Miami next week.
