Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Tosses five scoreless Tuesday
Davies (2-2) scattered six hits and a walk over five scoreless innings while striking out six in Tuesday's 9-1 win over the Reds.
He needed 95 pitches (65 strikes) to barely qualify for the win, but this still ranks as Davies' strongest outing of the season so far. Despite an ugly 6.57 ERA and 1.86 WHIP, the 24-year-old does seem to be steadying the ship and has a 21:7 K:BB over his last 20.1 innings, offering an encouraging sign that he'll be able to keep chipping away at those ratios. Davies will next take the mound Monday in St. Louis.

Patrick Corbin SP | TOR
Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin: Strikes out nine in win over Padres
Corbin (2-3) allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks across seven strong innings in Tuesday's win over the Padres. He struck out nine.
Corbin came through with his best outing of the season in many regards, completing seven frames for the first time while registering a season high in strikeouts en route to his fourth straight quality start. He also topped the 100-pitch mark for the first time this season and appears to be nearing top form after a substandard 2016 campaign. Corbin will carry a tidy 3.10 ERA into a challenging matchup with the Rockies at home on Sunday.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Finds form with six shutout frames against Pirates
Hendricks (2-1) tossed six scoreless innings against the Pirates on Tuesday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out three in a 1-0 win.
Last year's spectacular 2.13 ERA and 0.98 WHIP were obviously unrepeatable, but Hendricks started this season with an across-the-board statistical decline over his first three starts. This was a major improvement, but still, Hendricks' fastball averaged only 85.9 mph, per Jesse Rogers of ESPN Chicago -- a season high, but still a huge decline from last year's 87.8. Hendricks has never been mistaken for a fireballer, but this is quite low even for him. Still, at least he's on a positive trend line, and his past results have given us reason to believe that he'll continue rounding into form.

Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Takes hard-luck loss to Cubs
Cole (1-3) gave up just an unearned run on two hits over seven brilliant innings Tuesday, only to get stuck with a loss to the Cubs. He struck out eight without a walk.
Unfortunately for him and the Pirates, Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks combined with three relievers to pitch a shutout on the other end. Cole did his work with brutal efficiency, throwing just 78 pitches. The only blemish on his day came in the second inning, when Cole gave up a double to Addison Russell and then Alen Hanson's throwing error let him come around to score. Otherwise, he was nearly perfect against the extremely dangerous Cubs lineup, which just goes to show you the upside Cole brings to the table in fantasy. The 26-year-old got off to a bit of a slow start, but he went a long way toward normalizing his stats in this one.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: To remain in majors going forward
Urias, who is slated to start Thursday's game against the Giants, will stay up with the Dodgers for good, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Manager Dave Roberts' announcement confirms the fact that the dazzling 20-year-old will remain in the Dodgers' rotation following his start on Thursday. During the 2016 season with the big-league club, Urias posted a solid 3.39 ERA with a 25 percent strikeout rate and 9.2 percent walk rate. The talented lefty is worthy an add in all formats.

Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Start shifted to Wednesday
Velasquez is now scheduled to start Wednesday against the Marlins following Tuesday's postponement, Meghan Montemurro of The News Journal reports.
Velasquez will now make his scheduled start a day late, while Nick Pivetta's spot start for Aaron Nola will likely be pushed to the weekend. The 24-year-old has flashed his high strikeout potential early this season -- striking out 19 batters in 15 innings -- but not much else has gone right, as evidenced by his 7.02 ERA and 1.67 WHIP.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Thriving with Double-A Springfield
Flaherty, who is 4-0 with a 0.33 ERA over his first four starts in 2017, is drawing rave reviews in what is his first experience in Double-A ball, Max Gelman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "The thing that really stands out for Jack is he has shown at each level, he's been able to command his fastball, a real quality that he has that separates him from younger pitchers," Cardinals farm director Gary LaRocque said. "He works his fastball to both sides of the plate and he gets himself into a lot of quality innings."
The former No. 34 overall pick has followed up the career-high 134 innings he threw at High-A Palm Beach in 2016 with a near-perfect start to his first Double-A campaign, going at least six innings in each of his first four trips to the mound and allowing a single earned run overall in 27.1 innings. Besides being blessed with good health thus far, Flaherty's ability to consistently get ahead in counts and his above-average control have been pivotal to his success. The 21-year-old righty boasts a 24:3 K:BB, 0.66 WHIP and .161 BAA in addition to his aforementioned stellar won-loss record and ERA.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Now slated to start Wednesday
Teheran is now scheduled to start Wednesday against the Mets following Tuesday's postponement, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.
The Braves will keep their entire rotation in order, with everyone simply moving back a day following the rainout. After three straight quality starts to open the 2017 campaign, Teheran was rocked for seven runs over four innings against Washington his last time out. He has an 18:11 K:BB in 23 innings so far this season.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Officially added to Rockies
Marquez was officially added to the Rockies' 25-man roster Tuesday, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports reports.
As expected, Marquez was recalled from Triple-A on Tuesday to start against the Nationals, taking the rotation spot of Jon Gray (foot). The 22-year-old started three games for the Rockies in 2016, going 1-2 with a 5.28 ERA through 15.1 innings.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Spins tidy outing in losing effort
Ryu (0-4) allowed a single run on five hits and a walk while striking out three batters during Monday's loss to San Francisco.
The 30-year-old lefty started just one game in 2016, so it wasn't surprising that he struggled through his first three outings. Monday's showing was definitely a step in the right direction, though. Ryu posted a 3.17 ERA (2.97 FIP) and 1.20 WHIP with 293 strikeouts through 344 innings over his first two seasons in the league, so he has potential to be a serviceable fantasy asset. He'll look to pick up his first win of the season against the Phillies on his next trip to the hill.
