Henderson will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday in Cleveland, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

With Tobias Myers back at Triple-A and Jose Quintana (shoulder) getting pushed back, there was a spot open for Henderson this week. There are a lot of moving parts in Milwaukee, with Brandon Woodruff (ankle/shoulder) and Aaron Civale (hamstring) potentially nearing returns, so this could just be a spot start for Henderson. However, he struck out nine while allowing three hits and a walk over six frames in his big-league debut April 20 at home against the Athletics, so if Henderson logs another strong start, perhaps he could stick around.

The White Sox will deploy Cannon as a bulk reliever behind opening pitcher Brandon Eisert in Tuesday's game against the Reds, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.

Cannon has started in seven of his eight appearances on the season, but he'll enter Tuesday's contest out of the bullpen once Eisert exits the contest after likely working the first inning or two. Though he doesn't make many bats miss, Cannon has performed well over his last five outings, going 2-2 with a 3.30 ERA and 1.37 WHIP across 30 innings.

Smith was pulled early from his last outing with Double-A Birmingham and will have his next start skipped due to fluctuating velocity and signs of fatigue, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The White Sox are saying Smith is fine physically and this is more about simply managing his workload during his first full professional season. Smith has had control problems this season in issuing 20 walks over 25.2 innings, but he's still managed to post a 2.10 ERA while recording 42 strikeouts.

Henderson is a candidate to be called up from Triple-A Nashville to start Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers optioned Tobias Myers to Nashville over the weekend and are pushing Jose Quintana (shoulder) back a few days in the pitching schedule, creating a need for a spot starter Wednesday. Henderson would be on five days' rest that day and was superb in a spot start last month in his major-league debut, tossing six innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts versus the Athletics on April 20. Since rejoining Nashville, Henderson has made three starts and has turned in a 1.69 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in 16 innings.

The Brewers are listing Quintana (shoulder) as their probable pitcher for Saturday's game against the Twins, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Initially, the team had planned to push Quintana back from Wednesday to Friday due to some soreness the lefty developed in his pitching shoulder after his last outing. However, it appears he'll receive an additional day of rest. Quintana will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, and assuming that goes well, he'll take the hill Saturday.

Padres manager Mike Shildt said Monday that Darvish (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday, Kyle Glaser of Foul Territory TV reports.

Darvish has been working his way back from right elbow inflammation, an injury that first cropped up in mid-March. The veteran hurler threw 48 pitches in a simulated game last week and should expand that pitch count Wednesday. Darvish will need at least a couple rehab starts before rejoining the Padres' rotation.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Sunday that McClanahan still feels some discomfort in his left triceps when playing catch from 60 feet, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

While the soreness in McClanahan's left arm hasn't totally dissipated, he's been "given the thumbs up by the doctors" to continue his throwing program, per Cash. However, McClanahan will not be able to ramp up and get cleared to throw from a mound until the nerve irritation in his triceps is gone. As such, McClanahan is without a timeline for making his 2025 debut with the Rays.

The Astros will recall Gordon from Triple-A Sugar Land on Wednesday to make his major-league debut against the Royals, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Gordon is off to a stellar start this season with Sugar Land, collecting a 2.55 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 43:8 K:BB over 42.1 innings covering eight starts. The left-hander could make additional starts with the big club after Wednesday's outing, as the Astros plan to temporarily maintain a six-man rotation amidst a stretch of the schedule without off days.

Mathews (shoulder) will make a rehab start this week with the Cardinals' Florida Complex League affiliate, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Mathews resumed a throwing program in late April as he bounces back from mild left shoulder soreness, and he's now ready to pitch in games. The left-hander will eventually move back up to Triple-A Memphis, where he posted a 6.10 ERA and 7:15 K:BB over his first 10.1 innings before getting injured.

Hancock (1-2) allowed seven runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out five over five innings to take the loss Monday versus the Yankees.

Hancock's run of three straight quality starts came to an end as the Yankees got to him. Trent Grisham had a pair of solo shots, and Austin Wells capped a six-run fifth inning with a three-run blast. The three homers allowed matched the total Hancock had given up over his first five starts of the year combined. He's now at a 6.91 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 22:11 K:BB across 28.2 innings over six starts. Hancock will likely get one more turn in the rotation -- a road start at San Diego this weekend -- before ceding his spot to George Kirby (shoulder), though Hancock could stick around as a starter if Logan Gilbert's (elbow) recovery timeline trends toward the end of May or early June.
