Peterson (1-0) picked up the win after giving up two runs on five hits and three walks in six innings Monday against Miami. He struck out nine.

After allowing a solo home run to Otto Lopez in the first inning, Peterson settled in thereafter while receiving plenty of run support. Eric Wagaman did tag Peterson for another solo shot in the sixth frame, but it was an otherwise strong season debut overall for the southpaw. Peterson's next start is tentatively scheduled to come this weekend at home against Toronto.

Crochet agreed to a six-year, $170 million contract extension with the Red Sox on Monday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Passan notes that this deal won't go into effect until the 2026 season and includes an opt-out clause following the 2030 campaign. Crochet is currently under contract on a one-year, $3.8 million agreement until the end of 2025 and made only one start with Boston before the two sides were able to come together on a long-term contract.

Soroka left Monday's start against the Blue Jays with an apparent right hand injury, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. He allowed four runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings prior to departing.

Soroka appeared to be in discomfort after missing badly on his 83rd pitch of the night, and he walked off with the team trainer shortly after. He'll likely be taken to the clubhouse for further evaluation and can be considered day-to-day until the team has more news to share.

Paddack (0-1) took the loss Monday against the White Sox. He allowed nine runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two across 3.1 innings.

Paddack's got off to a rough start Monday when he gave up a three-run home run to Andrew Vaughn in the first inning. Paddack proceeded to allow long shots to Andrew Benintendi and Michael Taylor and failed to get out of the fourth frame while tossing 89 pitches (54 strikes). Paddack earned a spot in the Twins' rotation after posting a 4.58 ERA and 21:4 K:BB across 17.2 spring innings, but Monday certainly wasn't an ideal beginning to the 2025 campaign for the 29-year-old right-hander. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is tentatively slated for this weekend at home against the Astros.

Perez (1-0) earned the win Monday against the Twins, allowing three walks across six hitless and scoreless innings while striking out nine.

Perez had a strong spring training with a 2.25 ERA across 16 innings, and that momentum carried into Monday's AL Central showdown. He retired 11 straight to begin the game, and after escaping a bit of trouble in the fourth inning, he finished his day striking out five of the last six batters he faced. Perez generated 11 whiffs and logged 14 first-pitch strikes to get the Minnesota hitters behind in the count. Perez is in line to start this upcoming weekend on the road against the Tigers.

The Pirates transferred Jones (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

This move won't affect Jones' timetable for a return, as he recently began a six-week no-throw program and is unlikely to be ready to make his season debut until at least June while he recovers from a UCL sprain in his right elbow. The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Alexander Canario, who was acquired from the Mets on Monday in exchange for cash considerations.

Atlanta recalled Elder from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Atlanta placed Reynaldo Lopez (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move, and Elder will be in line to take his spot in the rotation beginning with Wednesday's game against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, according to David O'Brien of The Athletic. Elder didn't make the Opening Day roster after a poor showing in spring training, which came after the 2023 All-Star turned in a 6.52 ERA and 1.63 WHIP across 49.2 innings last season.

Atlanta placed Lopez on the 15-day injured list Monday with right shoulder inflammation.

Lopez's velocity was down throughout spring training, and while it ticked back up in his season debut against the Padres on Friday, he managed just one strikeout over five innings. The right-hander will go on the IL with an arm-related concern for the third time since last season's All-Star break. Bryce Elder was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to take Lopez's spot on the roster and will start in his place Wednesday versus the Dodgers. Lopez will be eligible for activation in mid-April, but his absence is likely to extend beyond that.

Bubic (1-0) earned the win Monday against the Brewers. He allowed three hits and two walks while striking out eight across six scoreless innings.

Bubic beat out Daniel Lynch for the fifth starter role during spring training, and the former's performance Monday made it look like the right decision. Bubic came out firing by striking out the side in the first inning, and after escaping a bases-loaded situation in the second, he allowed only three more base runners over the next four frames and generated 15 whiffs in 95 pitches. Bubic served out of the Royals' bullpen for the past two seasons after a difficult 2022 campaign when he registered a 5.54 ERA and 1.70 WHIP across 28 starts, but the southpaw was locked in Monday and will look to carry that momentum into his next start tentatively slated for this upcoming weekend against the Orioles at home.

Patrick will make his first major-league start Tuesday against the Royals, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers' rotation depth is being tested early on in the season. One day after Elvin Rodriguez made his first big-league start since 2022, Milwaukee will turn to Patrick, who allowed two runs in an inning of relief Saturday versus the Yankees in his major-league debut. Patrick won the Triple-A pitching Triple Crown in 2024, leading both the International League and Pacific Coast League in wins (14), ERA (2.90) and strikeouts (145) over 136.1 innings with Nashville.
