Buehler (hip) threw 3.1 innings while allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out six during a rehab outing with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Buehler needed 86 pitches to record 10 outs, as he continued to struggle with his control. Positively, he did manage to strike out six, a significant increase from his first rehab appearance Friday. It's possible that the Dodgers activate him for his next turn through the rotation, though they could also opt to give him another outing in the minors in hopes of him throwing strikes more consistently.

Lively (10-6) earned the win over Baltimore on Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out four batters over six innnings.

Lively gave up a run in the first frame, but Cleveland's offense put up five runs by the end of third to take a comfortable lead. The right-hander surrendered another run on a fourth-inning Anthony Santander homer, and that was all the Orioles offense managed against him. Lively notched his second straight quality start and has now given up two or fewer runs in four consecutive outings. He's in the midst of a breakout campaign with 10 victories along with a 3.42 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 90:30 K:BB over 105.2 innings.

Matz (back) threw two innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two with no walks in a rehab outing with Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Matz's outing met the team's expectations in terms of both number of pitches and innings. Assuming he avoids any setbacks, he should be in line for a few more rehab outings before being activated from the injured list and likely to rejoin the rotation.

Lauer was released by the Astros on Thursday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Lauer was in the Triple-A Sugar Land rotation since signing with Houston on May 20. He struggled to a 5.09 ERA and 1.65 WHIP across 46 innings and has now has unsuccessful stints with both Houston's and Pittsburgh's Triple-A affiliates in 2024.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Thursday that Lynn (knee) had imaging come back clean, and the right-hander will be shut down for a couple days after receiving an injection, Jim Hayes of Bally Sports Midwest reports.

The 37-year-old landed on the shelf Wednesday due to right knee inflammation, and that initial diagnosis has been confirmed after being evaluated further. Assuming Lynn is able to quickly return to throwing, his stint on the injured list may not end up being much longer than the 15-day minumum.

The Yankees transferred Poteet (triceps) to the 60-day injured list Thursday.

A right tricep strain has kept Poteet on the injured list since mid-June, and his move to the 60-day injured list will ensure he remains out until at least Aug. 17. The 30-year-old righty began throwing bullpen sessions last week, though it remains unclear how close he is to facing live hitters and eventually beginning a rehab assignment. His spot on the 40-man roster will be given to Nick Burdi, who was reinstated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move.

Lopez (forearm) won't start Saturday versus the Marlins but is still considered day-to-day, Grant McAuley of 92.9 The Game Atlanta reports.

Lopez had been lined up for Saturday after he exited his outing last weekend versus the Mets due to right forearm tightness. He was cleared of any structural damage, and while Atlanta maintains hope that Lopez can avoid the 15-day injured list, it's uncertain when he might be able to take the ball again.

Fried (forearm) could be activated from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday against the Marlins, Grant McAuley of 92.9 The Game reports.

Fried resumed throwing last weekend and completed a bullpen session without issue Tuesday. Assuming he bounces back without any concerns, Fried will likely skip a rehab start and rejoin the Atlanta rotation this weekend. Fried has missed the last two weeks of action with left forearm neuritis.

Cantillo will start Saturday versus the Orioles in place of the injured Tanner Bibee (shoulder), Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Bibee is having his start pushed back a few days as he battles some shoulder tightness. Cantillo yielded three earned over 3.1 innings this past Sunday against the Phillies in his major-league debut. The Guardians have a doubleheader next Friday in Minnesota, and Cantillo will be a candidate to get another start that day.
