The Dodgers optioned Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Knack has posted a 3.47 ERA and 1.07 WHIP while striking out 26 batters in 23.1 innings since joining the Dodgers on June 21, but he will head back to the minors following the returns of Tyler Glasnow (back) and Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) from the injured list this week. Should Knack continue to pitch effectively in the minors, he could still be called upon to re-enter the Dodgers rotation if injuries continue to test the big club's starting pitching depth.

Glasnow (back) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Wednesday ahead of his start against the Giants.

Back tightness forced Glasnow onto the IL on July 9, but he'll now return to the Dodgers' rotation following a minimum-length stay. The 30-year-old righty reached 58 pitches while throwing three simulated innings Friday, though it's possible he works under some sort of restriction during his first start back. Landon Knack was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Bibee was removed from his start Wednesday against the Tigers due to an apparent right knee injury, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Bibee needed just 67 pitches to get through five innings of one-run ball, but he seemed to be having issues with his knee while warming up ahead of the sixth frame. His status for his next start -- tentatively slated for Monday in Detroit -- is uncertain.

The Giants transferred Winn (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Winn was shut down from throwing Monday after experiencing discomfort in his right elbow. His move to the 60-day IL will officially keep him out until at least Aug. 21, though the team may opt to shut him down for the season if he doesn't show signs of improvement.

Steele did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's loss to the Brewers, allowing two earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out four in 5.1 innings.

Steele came out of the All-Star break flat, yielding five earned runs on nine hits in his previous start. Wednesday's outing was certainly an improvement, but his 4:3 K:BB was underwhelming, especially compared to his pre-intermission production. In nine starts leading up to the All-Star break, Steele dazzled with a 1.48 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 58:12 K:BB in 61 innings. The southpaw will look to find his form in his next start, currently scheduled for early next week in Cincinnati.

The Giants reinstated Ray (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday ahead of his start versus the Dodgers.

Wednesday will mark Ray's first major-league start since he underwent Tommy John surgery in May 2023. He began a rehab assignment June 4 and has since posted a 3.38 ERA and 0.85 WHIP alongside a 45:6 K:BB across 29.1 innings in 10 games (nine starts). The 32-year-old southpaw reached 78 pitches during his latest outing with Triple-A Sacramento, though he could still be held to a pitch/innings restriction as he faces MLB hitters for the first time in nearly 16 months. Randy Rodriguez was optioned to Sacramento, and Keaton Winn (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day IL in corresponding moves.

Poteet (tricep) said Wednesday that he will throw his second full bullpen session Thursday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Poteet had not been cleared to throw full bullpen sessions as of Monday, though he seems to have turned a corner in his rehab and is now slated to throw roughly 20-to-25 pitches in what will be his second mound session. The 29-year-old posted a 2.14 ERA and 1.05 WHIP through 21 innings over four starts prior to suffering a tricep strain in June, though it's possible the Yankees move him into their bullpen once he returns from the IL.

Sears (7-8) took the loss Wednesday against the Astros, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits over six innings. He struck out three.

Four of the runs charged to Sears came in the seventh inning, when the first four batters reached before the A's turned to the bullpen. It's a rough final line for Sears, who had won three straight starts while pitching to a 2.42 ERA in his previous four outings. The 28-year-old southpaw now sports a 4.81 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and 83:32 K:BB across 112.1 innings this season. Sears will look to bounce back in his next start, currently slated for early next week in San Francisco.

Brown (9-6) earned the win Wednesday over the Athletics, allowing one run on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out eight.

The lone run charged to Brown came in the first inning when the A's led off the game with back-to-back doubles. The right-hander would rebound to blank Oakland over his final five frames, earning a third straight win while logging his 11th quality start in his last 12 outings. After posting a 7.71 ERA through his first nine starts, Brown's pitched to a 2.09 ERA in his subsequent 12 appearances. Overall, his ERA sits at 4.00 with a 1.37 WHIP and 118:42 K:BB across 110.1 innings this season. Brown will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled for early next week at home versus the Pirates.

Quantrill (7-7) earned the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out three.

Quantrill was stingy Wednesday and got more than enough run support in an eventual 20-7 Rockies victory. It marks the 29-year-old Quantrill's first win since June 11, though he's now turned in back-to-back quality starts. His ERA sits at 4.09 through 21 starts (114.1 innings) this season with a 1.34 WHIP and 86:43 K:BB. Quantrill's tentatively lined up to face the Angels at home in his next outing.
