  • Astros' Spencer Arrighetti: Records quality start Monday

Arrighetti tossed six innings against the Angels on Monday, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out seven batters in a no-decision.

It was a bit of a mixed bag for Arrighetti, as he issued four free passes and unfurled a wild pitch but also racked up 12 whiffs and seven punchouts. The right-hander held things down well outside of the second inning, which is when the Angels scored all three of their runs against him. Though those trio of earned runs marked the second-most Arrighetti has surrendered in an outing this season, he nonetheless finished with his fifth quality start of the campaign. Overall, Arrighetti has enjoyed an excellent season to this point, posting a 7-1 record along with a 2.21 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 53:31 K:BB across 57 frames spanning 10 starts.

  • Patrick Corbin SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Patrick Corbin: Lasts just three frames Monday

Corbin (2-3) took the loss against Philadelphia on Monday, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three batters over three innings.

Corbin got through a scoreless first inning but served up a two-run homer to Adolis Garcia in the second. Things got even worse for the veteran lefty in the third, as he yielded three runs on two hits, three walks and a hit-by-pitch. That was all Blue Jays manager John Schneider could handle, as he turned to the bullpen to begin the fourth. Overall, Corbin threw just 44 of 79 pitches for strikes and issued a season-high four free passes. After getting through May with a solid 3.65 ERA through 10 starts, he's taken a big step back to begin June, yielding nine runs over eight frames across his first two outings of the month. With Dylan Cease (hamstring) and Max Scherzer (forearm) set to come off the IL this week and Shane Bieber (elbow) not far behind them, Corbin's time in the rotation is quickly drawing to a close.

  • Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Fans 10 in victory

Sanchez (8-2) earned the win over Toronto on Monday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over seven innings.

Sanchez kept the Blue Jays at bay throughout most of his outing, though Ernie Clement took him deep for a solo shot in the fifth inning. That snapped Sanchez's streak of seven straight starts with no homers allowed, but despite that hiccup Sanchez was once again dominant, racking up 17 swinging strikes and finishing with his fourth double-digit punchout performance of the campaign. Remarkably, the two runs Sanchez surrendered Monday were more than he had given up across his previous six starts combined, which is a testament to the magical season he's putting together. The 29-year-old ranks second among MLB qualified pitchers with both a 1.54 ERA and 113 strikeouts over 93.1 innings spanning 14 starts.

  • Gavin Williams SP | CLE

Guardians' Gavin Williams: Serves up two homers in no-decision

Williams allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Yankees on Monday.

The positive aspect of Williams' outing is that he surrendered just four hits, but two of those left the park, and he also walked three batters. This was the second straight start -- both against the Yankees -- in which the right-hander allowed two long balls after doing so in just two of his first 12 appearances to begin the season. Williams has also seen his punchout numbers dip of late -- he's now recorded six or fewer strikeouts in three straight outings following a five-start stretch in which he averaged eight punchouts per appearance. However, Williams still leads the American League with 99 strikeouts overall, and he's added a strong 3.32 ERA and 1.10 WHIP along with nine wins (tied for first in the majors) through 14 starts spanning 86.2 frames.

  • Will Warren SP | NYY

Yankees' Will Warren: Steps back with short outing Monday

Warren allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks while striking out five batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against Cleveland on Monday.

Warren came into Monday having tossed back-to-back six-inning quality starts, but he wasn't able to get out of the fifth frame against the Guardians. Most of the damage against the right-hander came in the third, when Cleveland put up three runs on three hits, a walk, a wild pitch and an error. Though Warren didn't give up any more runs thereafter, he ran his pitch count up throughout the contest and was at 91 pitches when he departed. While this was far from his best outing, Warren did manage to give up fewer than three earned runs for the 11th time across his 13 starts. That has him at a healthy 3.28 ERA along with a 1.19 WHIP and 75:21 K:BB over 68.2 innings on the season.

  • Mariners' Emerson Hancock: Another strong performance

Hancock (5-2) earned the win Monday against the Orioles, allowing one run on three hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out three.

Hancock continued to provide the Mariners with length, working at least five innings in each of his first 13 starts. Additionally, Monday marked his fifth consecutive outing where he gave up two runs or fewer. Aiming for his first career All-Star nod, Hancock is set to take a stellar 2.74 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 73:17 K:BB across 75.2 innings into a tough road test against an upstart Nationals lineup this weekend.

  • Trey Gibson SP | BAL

Orioles' Trey Gibson: Falls apart in fifth inning

Gibson (1-1) took the loss Monday against the Rays, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in 4.2 innings. He failed to record a strikeout.

Filling in for the injured Chris Bassitt (back), Gibson wasn't very effective in a spot start Monday. The rookie right-hander did make it through four scoreless innings initially, but the Mariners tagged him for three runs in the fifth frame. Gibson has looked overmatched at times in the major leagues, posting a 4.24 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and an alarming 5:8 K:BB over 17 innings, so he'll be tough to trust as a streaming option in his next scheduled start versus the Padres.

  • Connelly Early SP | BOS

Red Sox's Connelly Early: Fans six in fourth loss

Early (5-4) took the loss Monday against the Rays, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Early struggled with his control Monday, matching a season worst in walks allowed while tossing only 54 of his 96 pitches for strikes. On a more positive note, however, the 24-year-old right-hander did extend his streak of starts with at least five strikeouts to six. Early will carry a strong 3.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 69:27 K:BB over 71 innings into his next scheduled outing at home versus the Rangers.

  • Brewers' Gerson Garabito: Activated from IL

Garabito (foot) was activated from the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Garabito was initially given a four-month timetable for a return after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot in late February, but he managed to finish up his rehab ahead of schedule. He made his first appearance at Triple-A Nashville on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two over 2.1 innings.

  • Braves' Herick Hernandez: Returns to health

Hernandez (undisclosed) was activated from the 7-day injured list Thursday.

Hernandez landed on the injured list in early May due to an unspecified injury and missed just over a month while on the mend. He put together a solid outing in his return for Double-A Columbus, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out five over four scoreless innings.
