Ober (8-5) took the loss in the opening game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the White Sox, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Ober held the White Sox to one run through his first five innings before Luis Robert launched a two-run homer in the sixth, putting Minnesota in a 3-0 hole in an eventual 3-1 loss. Still, Ober was able to deliver his fifth straight quality start -- he's posted a 2.17 ERA over 33.1 innings in that span. The 28-year-old Ober now sports a 4.14 ERA through 18 starts (100 innings) this year with an impressive 1.08 WHIP and 106:24 K:BB.

Fedde (7-3) earned the win in the opening game of Wednesday's doubleheader against Minnesota, allowing four hits and two walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out five.

After escaping a bases-loaded, no-out jam in the first inning, Fedde proceeded to blank the Twins over his subsequent four innings, picking up his team-leading seventh win. Fedde's been one of the few bright spots this year on a last-place White Sox team -- he's now held opponents to two runs or fewer in five of his last six starts. Overall, Fedde's ERA is down to 2.99 with a 1.13 WHIP and 99:30 K:BB across 19 starts (111.1 innings) as he continues to build value ahead of the trade deadline.

The Angels optioned Daniel to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Daniel completed eight scoreless innings in his first major-league start June 27, but in the two outings since, he allowed 12 runs (11 earned) over nine innings. He could return to Anaheim at some point after the All-Star break, but for now, Daniel will cede his rotation spot to Jack Kochanowicz, who will be called up from Double-A Rocket City to start Thursday versus the Mariners.

Kochanowicz will be recalled from Double-A Rocket City to start Thursday's game versus the Mariners, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Kochanowicz has thrown two complete games over his last three outings, though his overall numbers -- a 4.55 ERA and 79:23 K:BB over 91 innings covering 16 starts -- leave something to be desired. He's taking the rotation spot vacated by Davis Daniel, who was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Wednesday that Wheeler (back) isn't certain to make his next start Sunday against the Athletics, though an MRI on the right-hander's back revealed no structural damage, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports. "We're going to be very cautious with him... We'll know [Thursday]," Thomson said, when asked about Wheeler's status for Sunday.

Wheeler was pulled after five innings in his start during Tuesday's 10-1 win over the Dodgers due to left lower-back tightness. Though Thomson admitted that Wheeler is still feeling sore, the 34-year-old looks to have avoided a significant injury. Even so, with the All-Star break looming, the Phillies could have Wheeler skip his next turn so that he can benefit from some extended time to heal up from the back issue. The team should provide more clarity on its plans for Wheeler after reassessing his condition Thursday.

Williamson (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session July 23, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Williamson is poised to throw off of a mound for the first time since he received injections last month to combat a lesion in his left shoulder. The left-hander is hoping to be ready to pitch for the Reds in September, but he'll have many hurdles to clear to make that a reality.

The Dodgers optioned Miller to the minors Wednesday.

The team didn't specifically relay that Miller will be headed to Triple-A Oklahoma City, as the right-hander could instead be headed to the Dodgers' facility in Arizona to work on some mechanical adjustments. His demotion comes after he was lit up for nine earned runs in four innings in Tuesday's loss to the Phillies, bringing his ERA up to 9.87 over his four starts since he returned to the rotation June 19 following a two-plus-month stay on the injured list due to shoulder inflammation. The Dodgers will need a replacement in the rotation for Miller in Sunday's game in Detroit, but the right-hander might be a candidate to rejoin the big club shortly after the All-Star break. The possibility exists, however, that the Dodgers will have Miller spend some extended time in the minors to iron out the kinks, as the team should get some reinforcements to its rotation after the break that may lessen the need to bring back the struggling right-hander. Tyler Glasnow (back) and Walker Buehler (hip) could both be ready to return from the IL immediately after the break, while Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) is in the midst of a rehab assignment and could be ready to come off the 60-day IL by the end of July or the first week of August.

Silseth was removed from Triple-A Salt Lake's rotation after giving up six runs (five earned) on 10 hits and two walks while striking out one batter over 5.2 innings in his most recent start June 27, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Silseth won the Angels' No. 5 starter job coming out of spring training, but he made just two turns through the rotation before landing on the 60-day injured list in April with elbow inflammation. Even though he's now considered fully healthy and the Halos' starting pitching depth has only been further tested by injuries as the season has unfolded, the Angels weren't willing to open a rotation spot for Silseth after he struggled across his five-start rehab assignment in the minors. Silseth didn't show much improvement June 27 in his first start since being activated, so he'll now head to the Triple-A bullpen in what's expected to be a temporary move while he looks to improve his control and regain velocity following his recent absence due to the elbow injury. The Angels are still seemingly viewing Silseth as a starter over the long haul, but he doesn't look as though he'll be a realistic option for the big-league rotation anytime soon.

White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said Wednesday that Clevinger (elbow) could return from the 15-day injured list for his next outing, even though he's not fully stretched out for a typical starter's workload, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Clevinger needed 61 pitches to cover 2.2 innings in his third rehab start with Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, yielding two runs with a 5:1 K:BB in the process. Even though he doesn't appear ready for a full workload just yet, Clevinger could start for the White Sox as soon as Sunday, as long as he recovers well from Tuesday's outing. Clevinger has been out since late May with right elbow inflammation and more recently a stiff neck. He holds a 6.75 ERA in four starts with the big club this season.

Springs (elbow) completed four innings while allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and no walks while striking out two in a rehab outing with Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

Springs worked four innings for the second consecutive rehab outing, though he struggled to get strikeouts at the same rate as his past appearances. Nevertheless, Springs remains on a positive trajectory and is projected to return to the Rays in late July.
