Bassitt (7-6) earned the win over the Yankees on Saturday, allowing one unearned run on six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over six innings.

Bassitt fired five scoreless innings before Anthony Volpe reached on an error in the sixth and came around to score on a single by Aaron Judge. Bassitt has now logged three consecutive quality starts and has not allowed more than three earned runs in an outing since April 26. The 35-year-old has lowered his ERA over two full runs since the conclusion of April and now owns a 3.24 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 91:37 K:BB over 97.1 innings this season. He lines up for a home matchup with the Astros next week.

Padres manager Mike Shildt said Friday that Darvish (elbow) has resumed playing light catch, MLB.com reports.

Darvish was expected to come off the 15-day injured list and make a start for the Padres on Tuesday against the Nationals, but a bout of right elbow inflammation put a halt to that plan. The right-hander underwent imaging that came back clean, and the fact that he's now doing light throwing suggests that the issue isn't serious. However, Darvish is expected to undergo additional imaging before he's cleared to return from the IL. His availability for the upcoming week is uncertain.

Gray (9-5) took the loss against the Reds on Saturday, allowing six runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Gray allowed two runs in the third inning and then endured a rough fifth frame, loading the bases and yielding a run on an error by Nolan Arenado. He was pulled after the error at 92 pitches, and each of the three inherited runners came around to score before the end of the frame. Gray generated 14 swinging strikes on 92 pitches but failed to complete five innings for just the second time in 15 starts this season. On the year, the 34-year-old owns a stellar 2.98 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 109:23 K:BB over 87.2 innings and tentatively lines up to face the Nationals next week.

Castillo will start Sunday's game against the Twins, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Castillo was initially projected to start Tuesday at Baltimore but with Bryan Woo (hamstring) hitting the IL, Castillo will pitch Sunday on regular rest. The 31-year-old has surrendered four or more runs in three of his last four starts but owns a 3.79 ERA over 99.2 innings on the year.

Cannon did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 11-3 win over the Rockies, allowing three runs on three hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Cannon surrendered a solo home run to Brendan Rodgers in the second inning and a two-run homer to Nolan Jones in the fifth. He departed before the White Sox erupted for 11 runs, but it was nice to see the rookie rebound with a solid effort after allowing eight runs (five earned) in one inning June 23. On the season, the 23-year-old owns a 4.62 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 32:7 K:BB through 39 innings and lines up to face the Marlins next week.

Quantrill (6-6) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing five runs on seven hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Quantrill opened with four scoreless innings before allowing a two-run home run to Lenyn Sosa in the fifth. He had a rough sixth frame, surrendering a solo homer to Luis Robert and a two-run shot to Paul DeJong before being pulled at 90 pitches. This marked the first time Quantrill went without a walk in a start since May 3, but he was burned by the long ball and has now yielded 11 earned runs over his last three outings. On the season, the 29-year-old owns a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 72:34 K:BB over 95.1 innings and lines up to face the Brewers next week.

The Angels optioned Plesac to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.

Plesac has struggled in three starts with the Angels this season, giving up 11 runs in 12 innings while striking out five batters and walking seven. He'll return to Salt Lake in an effort to get back on track, but he hasn't been much better in the minors with a 5.42 ERA through 13 starts with the Bees. Andrew Wantz will come up from Triple-A to fill the vacancy in Los Angeles' pitching staff.

Harrison (ankle) will throw one more bullpen session before returning from the 15-day injured list during the Giants' six-game road trip that begins Tuesday in Atlanta, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Harrison hasn't seen any game action since June 10 due to a sprained right ankle, but he'll be ready to return to the Giants rotation after completing multiple bullpen sessions. While it's unclear when he'll be slotted to start, the 22-year-old is most likely to pitch during a three-game series in Cleveland next weekend. Prior to landing on the IL, Harrison turned in a 3.96 ERA and 68:22 K:BB across 77.1 innings.

Snell (groin) will make a rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday and is expected to rejoin the Giants rotation after their road trip that ends July 7, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Snell threw three innings in a start with Sacramento on Friday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts. The 31-year-old will require one more rehab appearance before being reinstated and is on track to make a start with San Francisco prior to the All-Star break. Snell owns a 9.51 ERA across 23.2 innings with the Giants this season.

Sandoval (elbow) underwent successful internal brace surgery Wednesday to repair the UCL in his left elbow, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Sandoval was diagnosed with a high-grade flexor tear and a torn UCL in his left elbow after departing early from his start against the Dodgers on June 21. The left-hander is expected to miss at least a full year of action due to the injury, but because he had the internal brace procedure rather than Tommy John surgery, he could be able to shave a couple of months off his recovery timeline and return at some point after the All-Star break in 2025.
