Bassitt (5-6) prematurely left Monday's game against the White Sox with neck spasms, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports. He allowed five hits and zero walks while striking out seven over five scoreless innings, earning the win.

It was reported after the game that Bassitt was questionable to start due to the injury, but he toughed it out and pitched five dominant innings. It is encouraging that the 36-year-old was able to play through the injury, but the severity is still unknown. The right-hander will try to heal up for his next start, tentatively scheduled for this weekend versus Pittsburgh.

Steele did not factor into the decision Monday against Milwaukee, allowing three hits and one walk over seven shutout innings. He struck out eight.

Steele posted his best start since returning from a hamstring injury May 6, generating 13 whiffs in 93 total pitches. The Cubs lefty limited a ferocious Brewers offense that entered with the fourth-best team wRC+ at 115, allowing Milwaukee to scatter only four singles. Steele's ERA is now 4.45 over total 32.1 innings with 31:7 K:BB. The 28-year-old is currently slated to face the Reds at home in his next start.

Gasser did not factor into the decision Monday against the Cubs, allowing three hits and no walks over six shutout innings. He struck out seven.

Gasser dominated the Cubs, pounding them with a sound five-pitch mix to collect his second career quality start. The 24-year-old rookie has impressed in 23 innings so far, producing a 1.96 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 13:1 K:BB. Things have been excellent under the hood too, as he owns a 2.52 FIP and 47.3 percent groundball rate. Gasser is tentatively set to make his next scheduled start against the White Sox at home.

Nastrini (0-4) took the loss Monday against Toronto, allowing three earned runs on three hits and four walks over five innings. He struck out five.

The 24-year-old struggled with his control yet again, walking four or more batters for the third consecutive start. The right-hander has been erratic all season, compiling a dismal 13:17 K:BB across four starts. Nastrini was serviceable in this one, but he won't find consistent success in the majors until he cleans up his control. He now owns a 9.92 ERA and 2.20 WHIP in 16.1 innings.

Ryan (4-3) earned the win Monday against the Royals, allowing one run on four hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out nine.

Ryan dominated the Royals, generating an impressive 15 whiffs en route to his nine punchouts. With Monday's effort, the 27-year-old righty collected his eighth quality start of the season. Overall, Ryan sports a 2.96 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 73:9 K:BB in 67 innings. He is tentatively scheduled to pitch against the Astros on the road in his next start.

Marsh (4-2) took the loss Monday against Minnesota, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings. He struck out seven.

Marsh was done in by two swings of the bat -- a Jose Miranda two-run homer in the third and a Trevor Larnach three-run blast in the fifth. The Kansas City right-hander has been productive since returning from an elbow injury May 10, firing a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB in 23.1 innings. Overall, his ERA now sits at 3.24 with a 43:14 K:BB over 50 innings. Marsh is slated to face the Padres at home in his next start.

The Astros placed Javier on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to May 24, due to right forearm discomfort.

Javier was scheduled for a bullpen session Sunday, but he was pulled after experiencing discomfort in his right forearm. He'll be sent for imaging Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. With Javier on the IL, Hunter Brown will start Tuesday against the Mariners, while Justin Verlander and Spencer Arrighetti take the mound Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, per Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle. The Astros recalled right-hander Alex Speas from Triple-A Sugar Land in a corresponding move.

Irvin (5-2) picked up the win in Monday's 11-3 victory over Boston, scattering four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six and did not allow a run.

The 30-year-old southpaw was sharp, not allowing an extra-base hit and matching his season best with six strikeouts. The three walks were uncharacteristic for Irvin, who allowed just one free pass over his previous 24.1 innings pitched. After allowing nine earned runs over his first two starts of the season, Irvin has yielded just seven earned runs over his past eight starts, good for a 1.55 ERA in that span. He will look to keep it rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for this weekend in Tampa.

Criswell (2-2) took the loss Monday against Baltimore, yielding seven runs (six earned) on six hits and one walk in four innings. He struck out two.

Criswell didn't allow a home run, but he gave up four doubles and a triple in his worst outing of the season thus far. The 27-year-old had not allowed more than three earned runs in any appearance before Monday, and his ERA ballooned from 2.86 to 3.96 as a result. The right-hander's two strikeouts Monday represented his lowest tally since April 18, and he will look to improve on that number in his next scheduled start, tentatively slated for this weekend against Detroit.

Cabrera (shoulder) played catch from 60 feet Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cabrera had to be shut down again after throwing a bullpen session on May 17, but he's been cleared to try to ramp things back up. The right-hander has been on the injured list on two occasions this season with a right shoulder issue and there is currently no timetable for his return.
