Williams (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Williams had faced hitters a couple times recently without issue and has now been cleared to pitch in games. The young right-hander has been battling right elbow discomfort since spring training and experienced a setback in late April, but he's trending in a good direction now. It's been nearly three months since Williams last started a game, so his rehab assignment could take a while.

Bubic (elbow) has been transferred to Triple-A Omaha to continue his rehab assignment.

Bubic -- who is coming back from Tommy John surgery -- has allowed six earned runs on 10 hits and three walks across 8.1 innings in five rehab outings between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and Double-A Northwest Arkansas, but he has struck out 13 batters over that stretch. He got his pitch count up to 46 in his most recent outing for the Double-A club Saturday, and he'll likely continue to get stretched out for starting duty as he heads to Triple-A. The Royals don't seem to have room for Bubic in the big-league rotation, however, so the left-hander could stick around at Omaha once his 30-day rehab window ends and he's activated from the 60-day injured list.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Monday that Matz (back) will throw a "light" bullpen session Wednesday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Matz began playing catch last week following a pair of pain-killing injections in his lower back and he's almost ready to starting throwing off a mound at low intensity. The left-hander still looks to be several weeks away from a potential return from the 15-day injured list.

Stone and the Dodgers won't play Monday against the Mets after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The two teams will now play a doubleheader Tuesday. Stone and Tylor Megill had been slated to take the ball Monday but now will have their starts pushed back a day.

Gomber has been scratched from Monday's start against the Guardians due to general arm soreness, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Mmanager Bud Black implied that Gomber isn't dealing with an injury, and the decision to scratch the left-hander has more to do with the team wanting to hold him back for the team's upcoming series against the Dodgers this weekend. Anthony Molina will draw the start Monday for Colorado in what could be a bullpen day.

Francis (forearm) will make what's expected to be his final rehab appearance with Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Francis has pitched well in his first three rehab outings, yielding three runs (two earned) with a 6:1 K:BB over 6.2 frames. He should be slated for a long-relief job once he's activated.

Lodolo (groin) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday ahead of his scheduled start against the Cardinals.

An extended bullpen session last Wednesday put Lodolo in the clear to return after the minimum, and without a rehab assignment. The left-hander has pitched brilliantly in between IL stints this season, posting a 3.34 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 43:9 K:BB over 35 innings. While he may not be available for 90-plus pitches right away in his return, there has been nothing to suggest Lodolo will face any major restrictions against St. Louis.

Irvin will start Monday's game against the Red Sox in Baltimore, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

As expected, Irvin will draw back into the rotation as a replacement for John Means (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday. Though he made his last two appearances in relief, Irvin shouldn't be in line for any major workload restrictions Monday after he covered 3.1 innings out of the bullpen last Wednesday against the Cardinals. Over his prior seven starts with Baltimore this season, Irvin went 4-1 with a 2.90 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB in 40.1 innings.

Musgrove did not factor into the decision in Sunday's win over the Yankees, allowing one run on six hits and no walks while striking out five over 5.1 innings.

Musgrove blanked the Yankees through five before Juan Soto finally opened up the scoring with a one-out RBI double in the sixth that prompted Musgrove's exit after 87 pitches. Despite remaining winless since April 21, Sunday's start was an encouraging showing and one of Musgrove's best starts in what's been a tough season for him so far. The 31-year-old will carry a 5.66 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB (49.1 innings) into a road start against the Royals this weekend.
