  • Rockies' German Marquez: Set for pair of rehab starts

Marquez (biceps) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday and is expected to make two starts with the affiliate before returning from the 15-day injured list, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.

Assuming Tuesday's outing goes well, Marquez is lined up to pitch again for Albuquerque on Sunday before returning from the 15-day injured list next week. Before landing on the IL on July 23 due to right biceps tendinitis, Marquez submitted an inflated 5.67 ERA and 1.64 WHIP with 73 punchouts over 98.1 innings in 20 starts with the Rockies.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Tosses five blank frames

Senzatela allowed four hits and one walk over five scoreless innings while not factoring into the decision in Sunday's 6-5 win against Arizona. He struck out two.

The Colorado right-hander looked solid in his return from a finger injury that had sidelined him since Aug.1. Senzatela threw 61 total pitches, 42 of which were strikes, to notch his first scoreless home outing of the season out of 13 starts. The 30-year-old continued to not miss bats, generating just six whiffs, but did manage to lower his ERA from 7.34 to 7.00 across 108 total innings. Senzatela currently lines up to make his next start at Pittsburgh next weekend.

  • Boston Bateman SP | BAL

Orioles' Boston Bateman: Promoted to High-A

Bateman was promoted to High-A Aberdeen on Sunday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Bateman has posted a 2.45 ERA and 1.77 WHIP with six strikeouts over 7.1 innings in two starts with Single-A Delmarva since joining the Orioles' organization July 31. In total this season, he has compiled a 3.93 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 81 punchouts over 75.2 innings in 17 starts with Delmarva and Single-A Lake Elsinore.

  • Miles Mikolas SP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Walks five in no-decision

Mikolas did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on four hits and five walks across five innings. He struck out one.

While Mikolas issued a season-high five walks Sunday, the right-hander managed to keep the Yankees off the board until the fourth inning, when they scored three runs on their only four hits against the right-hander. It's been an up-and-down year overall for the 36-year-old Mikolas -- his ERA now sits at 4.99 with a 1.30 WHIP and 80:30 K:BB across 24 starts spanning 122.2 innings. He's currently in line to face the Rays on the road in his next outing.

  • Will Warren P | NYY

Yankees' Will Warren: Goes 4.2 innings vs. Cards

Warren did not factor into the decision Sunday against St. Louis, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk across 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

While Warren couldn't make it out of the fifth inning Sunday, the right-hander still hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in any of his last five starts -- he's posted a 1.93 ERA in that span over 28 frames. Overall, the 26-year-old Warren is 7-5 with a 4.25 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 143:55 K:BB across 26 starts (127 innings) this season. He's currently lined up to face the Red Sox at home his next time out.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Reds' Wade Miley: Pulled off rehab assignment

Miley (forearm) was pulled off his rehab assignment Sunday after he experienced soreness during his start with Double-A Chattanooga on Friday, Pat Brennan of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The veteran lefty threw 38 pitches over 1.2 innings during his first rehab outing, but renewed soreness will result in him being re-evaluated. Miley has been sidelined nearly two months due to the forearm strain, and this setback puts his availability for the rest of the season into question.

  • Javier Assad RP | CHC

Cubs' Javier Assad: Better in second outing

Assad didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Pirates, allowing a run on five hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out three.

While Assad was limited to 65 pitches Sunday, it was a step in the right direction for the 28-year-old right-hander, who gave up four runs over four innings in his season debut against the Blue Jays. Still, Assad, who pitched to a 3.73 ERA in 29 starts last season, could find himself relegated to a bullpen role down the stretch with Jameson Taillon (calf) scheduled to return to the rotation Monday.

  • Chris Paddack RP | MIA

Tigers' Chris Paddack: Tagged for eight runs

Paddack (4-11) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing eight runs on nine hits and three walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out four.

Six of the runs charged to Paddack came in the third inning, highlighted by Brooks Lee's two-out grand slam. The 29-year-old Paddack has given up 12 runs over 9.2 innings in two starts against the Twins, his former team, since joining Detroit at the trade deadline -- he allowed just six runs over 15.2 innings in his other three outings. Overall, Paddack sports a 5.10 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP and 96:31 K:BB across 25 starts (132.1 innings) between the Tigers and Twins this season. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, tentatively lined up for next week at home against the Royals.

  • Rockies' Bradley Blalock: Demoted to Triple-A

The Rockies optioned Blalock to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Blalock surrendered 19 earned runs -- including five long balls -- in his past three starts and will now make his way back to Triple-A. The right-hander has failed to impress across 47 major-league innings this season with an 8.62 ERA and 1.79 WHIP.

  • Astros' Cristian Javier: Departs with illness

Javier was removed from his start in Sunday's game against the Orioles after three innings due to an illness, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Javier recorded two strikeouts and allowed one run on three hits and no walks in the 50-pitch start before the Astros elected to pull him from the game early. The right-hander was making his second start of the season for the Astros after completing his recovery from Tommy John surgery. Javier should be ready to pitch when his next turn through the rotation comes up next weekend in Baltimore.
