Fried (2-0) threw a complete-game shutout Tuesday in Atlanta's 5-0 win over Miami, striking out six while allowing three hits and no walks.

Fried's performance Tuesday marked the fourth time he's thrown a complete-game shutout in his career and was the third time he's done so in less than 100 pitches, needing just 92 pitches to get 27 outs. Despite his incredible showing, the 30-year-old southpaw still owns a 4.97 ERA through his first five starts, but he'll have plenty of momentum on his side heading into his next outing -- tentatively scheduled for Monday in Seattle.

Dunning (2-2) took the loss Tuesday against Seattle, allowing four runs on four hits and three walks across 4.1 innings. He struck out seven.

Dunning was hit hard Tuesday, surrendering four extra-base hits, including a pair of two-run home runs by Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh. He's allowed a home run in all five of his starts this season and is tied for the second-most homers allowed in MLB (seven). Despite his troubles with the long ball, Dunning has been a quality source of strikeouts, punching out seven batters in three of his five starts this season. He's tentatively scheduled to face the Reds on Sunday.

Gilbert improved to 2-0 on the season in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over the Rangers, striking out six over 6.2 scoreless innings while allowing two hits and issuing four walks.

Gilbert surpassed six innings pitched for the fourth time in five starts this season, notching his first scoreless outing of the campaign. He battled issues with command and walked a pair of batters in the first, but he otherwise kept himself out of danger. He was removed from the contest with runners on first and third, but he was saved by Ryne Stanek, who forced Leody Taveras into an inning-ending groundout. Gilbert has posted four quality starts this season and boasts the most innings pitched (33.2) of anybody with fewer than six starts. He's scheduled for a Sunday start against Arizona.

Henry (1-1) earned the win Tuesday against St. Louis, allowing one run on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Henry was optioned to Triple-A Reno on April 17 after logging a 6.87 ERA in four starts with the Diamondbacks. However, with Kyle Nelson (shoulder) and Merrill Kelly (shoulder) being placed on the IL, Henry rejoined the big-league club for Tuesday's start. He tied his season high in strikeouts and didn't allow multiple runs for the first time all year en route to a quality start. His impressive outing likely bought him another go-around in Arizona's rotation, with a tentative matchup against the Dodgers set for Monday.

Matz (1-2) took the loss Tuesday against Arizona, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

All of the runs against Matz came in the third and fifth innings. In the third, he walked a pair of batters and allowed an RBI base hit to Lourdes Gurriel before Christian Walker launched a three-run homer. in the fifth, Matz allowed hits to three straight batters, two which scored after he was pulled. After giving up three earned runs in his first 15 innings, Matz has surrendered 12 earned runs in his last two starts (9.1 innings) with eight K's and six walks. He's lined up to face the Tigers in Detroit on Monday.

France (0-3) took the loss Tuesday, allowing five runs on five hits and four walks over five innings against the Cubs. He struck out six.

France endured a nightmare first inning, yielding a two-run home run to Cody Bellinger and a three-run homer to Mike Tauchman. However, he settled in following the frame, allowing just one hit in his final four innings while keeping Chicago off the scoreboard. France has now given up multiple home runs in back-to-back starts. Despite his struggles, France will likely have another go-around in the rotation due to the Astros lacking healthy arms, and he's projected to make his next start against Cleveland this weekend.

Lopez allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings Tuesday in a 6-5 win over the White Sox. He struck out six in a no-decision. He said after the game he was a physically fine despite a noticeable drop in his fastball velocity during the game, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Lopez's final pitch in the fourth inning was 91.9 mph, his slowest four-seam fastball while a member of the Twins, according to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com. Lopez didn't allow any runs in the first three innings but struggled in the fourth inning by allowing a three-run home run. It was a disappointing performance considering he was facing a struggling offense. However, it sounds like his worrisome velocity drop may not indicate a bigger problem.

Wicks (1-2) earned the win Tuesday against the Astros, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks over six innings. He struck out four.

Wicks got through five innings for the first time all season Tuesday, picking up his first win in the process. However, he set a season low in strikeouts, bringing his K/9 from 12.7 to 11.0, and he surrendered his second long ball of the campaign in the fifth inning to Jake Meyers. Wicks is lined up to close out a two-start week Sunday at Boston.

Falter (2-1) earned the win Tuesday against the Brewers, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.

Falter was dominant Tuesday, matching a career high with eight strikeouts while holding the Brewers scoreless through seven innings. He'd allow a home run to Gary Sanchez to lead off the eighth, but the Pirates would hang on for the 2-1 victory. After allowing six runs in his first start this year, Falter's now held opponents to two runs or fewer in each of his subsequent four outings. The left-hander lowered his ERA to 3.33 with a 0.89 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB across 27 innings this season. Falter's tentatively slated to face the Giants on the road Sunday in his next start.

Abbott did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing one run on two hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out three.

After giving up a run in the opening frame, Abbott held the Phillies off the board through his next three innings, allowing just one baserunner. However, he lost the strike zone in the fifth, walking the first three batters to load the bases and ultimately forcing Abbott out of the game before he could qualify for the win. Still, it's been a nice start to the year for 24-year-old lefthander -- Abbott sports a 2.60 ERA with a 1.12 WHIP and 20:11 K:BB through his first five starts (27.2 innings). He's currently lined up to face the Rangers on the road Sunday in his next start.
