Suarez allowed three hits and no walks over 5.2 scoreless innings during Wednesday's 4-2 win versus Minnesota. He struck out four and didn't factor in the decision.

The 34-year-old was a surprise selection to start Tuesday, which was his first MLB appearance since 2017, but he pitched well with 14 swinging strikes on 75 pitches and allowed just four baserunners. According to Jake Rill of MLB.com, manager Brandon Hyde said Suarez will get additional turns through the rotation, which isn't a major surprise given his performance and the numerous injuries Baltimore is managing to its rotation.

Walker (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Friday and could be activated from the 15-day injured list after that, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

The Phillies had said they wanted Walker to make four rehab starts before he returns from the IL, but he's made just two so far and the organization may have been pleased enough with his progress to bring him back early. It's not yet clear what day Walker might rejoin the rotation, but it might make sense to slot him in Monday and give Ranger Suarez an extra day of rest after he threw 112 pitches in a shutout Tuesday. Spencer Turnbull has pitched well while filling in for Walker, although he struggled a bit his last time out. He would likely be bumped from the rotation when Walker is ready, or the Phillies could keep a six-man starting staff intact temporarily. Walker is coming back from a right shoulder impingement.

King (2-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Brewers but struck out 10 and allowed a run on two hits and two walks over 7.2 innings.

King held Milwaukee without a hit until the seventh inning, but the lone run of the game was charged to him after he exited in the eighth, as the bullpen allowed an inherited runner to score. The 28-year-old generated 17 swinging strikes on 109 pitches, and he now has two starts this season of at least seven frames. King has a difficult draw for his next turn through the rotation, as he currently lines up to face the Rockies at Coors Field early next week.

Puk (illness) will start Thursday's game against the Cubs, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Puk was originally slated to make his fourth start of the season in Monday's series opener, but he had to be pushed back a couple times because he was under the weather. He was feeling better Wednesday, however, and played catch at LoanDepot Park to clear up any lingering concern about his availability to make his next turn through the rotation. The left-hander has struggled in his first three outings this season, putting up a 5.91 ERA and 8:14 K:BB over 10.2 innings of work. He could be at risk of moving to the bullpen once the Marlins get Braxton Garrett (shoulder) back from the injured list.

Rogers didn't factor in the decision Wednesday versus the Giants after he gave up a run on four hits and no walks over 5.2 innings. He struck out six.

The left-hander gave up a run during the second inning on a single and a double, but he otherwise held San Francisco in check. Rogers was pulled after allowing a two-out infield single in the sixth inning, so he fell short of his first quality start of the season. A matchup with Atlanta likely awaits early next week.

Winn (1-3) earned the win Wednesday at Miami after he allowed a run on four hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out four.

The right-hander kept the Marlins off the board until the bottom of the sixth inning, when Bryan De La Cruz launched a solo homer to tie the game 1-1. Winn then closed out the frame, and the Giants took the lead in the top of the seventh to put him in line for his first win of the campaign. The 26-year-old surrendered seven runs across his first two starts of the season but has bounced back in his last two outings with 2.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB over 11 innings.

The Dodgers recalled Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Nationals.

Knack made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster for the club's two-game series in South Korea with the Padres back in March, but he wasn't needed in relief in either contest before being optioned to Triple-A ahead of the team's domestic opener. Since the demotion, Knack has worked at least five innings in each of his three starts for Oklahoma City, logging a 4.02 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 15.2 frames. He'll get the chance to make his big-league debut Wednesday, and if he fares well, Knack could be in position to stick around with the Dodgers as part of a six-man rotation.

The Mets designated Jay for assignment Wednesday, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports.

Jay reached the majors for the first time earlier this month and gave up one earned run over four innings between his two relief appearances before being optioned to Triple-A Syracuse over the weekend. The 29-year-old lefty will now lose out on his spot on the 40-man roster after being DFA'd, though he'll stick around in the organization if he goes unclaimed off waivers.

Taillon (back) will be activated from the 15-day injured list and is listed as the Cubs' probable starting pitcher for Thursday's series opener versus the Marlins at Wrigley Field.

Taillon might operate with some light restrictions in his season debut, as he was capped at 3.2 innings and 68 pitches in his second and final rehab start with Triple-A Iowa this past Friday. Ben Brown has delivered a pair of strong starts in his two outings as the No. 5 member of the Cubs rotation, but unless manager Craig Counsell elects to expand the rotation to six men or decides to bump veteran Kyle Hendricks out of a starting role, the rookie could lose out on a spot once Taillon is activated.

Parker is slated to start Sunday's game against the Astros at Nationals Park, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Parker was able to limit a tough Dodgers lineup to two runs on four hits and no walks over five innings Monday in his big-league debut, so it comes as little surprise that he'll be rewarded for his efforts with another turn through the rotation. If he continues to perform well, Parker will have a path to sticking in the rotation on a long-term basis with Josiah Gray (elbow) facing an uncertain timeline to return from the 15-day injured list.
