Kikuchi didn't factor into the decision Friday versus the Yankees, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven in 5.1 scoreless innings.

It was a strong bounce-back effort from Kikuchi, who allowed three runs over 4.1 innings in his first start of the year. The left-hander is coming off a breakout 2023 campaign in which he went 11-6 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 181:48 K:BB in 32 starts. He's currently slated to face the Mariners at home in his next outing.

Stroman did not factor into the decision Friday against the Blue Jays, allowing three hits and one walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out six.

Stroman was stellar in his home debut with the Yankees, but the team failed to provide the right-hander with any run support in an eventual 3-0 loss. He has yet to give up a run through his first two starts this season, allowing just seven hits and three walks over 12 innings. He's currently lined up to face the Marlins at home in his next outing.

Teheran is scheduled to start Monday's game against Atlanta, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The veteran right-hander's agreement with the Mets became official Friday, and he's scheduled to make his first start of the season against the team he made his big-league debut with back in 2011. Teheran will be available for up to 75 pitches and could also be an emergency option for an inning out of the bullpen Friday in Cincinnati.

France was activated from the paternity leave list Friday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

France was away for a few days this week while welcoming a new baby to the family. He is scheduled to start Saturday against the Rangers.

Lodolo (calf) is scheduled to make his final minor-league rehab start Sunday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The left-hander threw 77 pitches during his previous rehab outing and should push up over 90 pitches Sunday. Lodolo had been targeting Wednesday versus the Brewers for his season debut, but he now lines up to face the White Sox next Friday.

The Brewers claimed Gutierrez off waivers from the Marlins on Friday and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Gutierrez made one four-inning relief appearance for the Marlins earlier this week before being designated for assignment. He will either be used as a starter or in long relief at Nashville.

The Marlins transferred Perez (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

The transaction came just a few hours after president of baseball operations Peter Bendix announced that Perez would undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery Monday. By transferring the 20-year-old right-hander to the 60-day IL, the Marlins were able to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for utility player Otto Lopez, whom Miami claimed off waivers from San Francisco on Thursday.

Miley (shoulder) is scheduled to make a rehab start for Triple-A Nashville on Friday, MLB.com reports.

Miley opened the season on the 15-day injured list due to a left shoulder impingement, but he looks on track to be ready to return shortly after he's first eligible for activation April 9. After his shoulder checked out fine Monday following a two-inning simulated game, the veteran lefty will test himself in an uncontrolled setting Friday, and he'll likely increase his innings and pitch counts as well. The Brewers will determine the next step for Miley following the rehab start, but if he fares well Friday, his next outing could come with Milwaukee during its four-game series in Cincinnati at the beginning of next week.

Lively (illness) allowed a hit and struck out three without walking a batter over three scoreless innings in his rehab start versus Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Lively began the season on the 15-day injured list, but he was solid in his first rehab appearance. The right-hander was in contention for a rotation spot during spring training prior to coming down with a respiratory virus. It's unclear what his role will be with the major-league team once he's activated -- that will likely depend on Carlos Carrasco's performance as the Guardians' fifth starter and the timeline for the return of Gavin Williams (elbow).

Cobb (hip) said Friday he's been shut down from throwing for a few days due to some flexor tendon inflammation, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

It doesn't appear to be a serious concern since Cobb is expected to resume throwing Monday, but any arm issue is a notable development as he makes his way back from offseason hip surgery. The 36-year-old's return timeline will be pushed back at least a week, which likely means he won't make his season debut until sometime in May.
