Twins' Kenta Maeda: Strikes out eight in quality start
Maeda pitched 6.1 innings against Seattle on Monday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out eight batters in a no-decision.
Maeda got through four scoreless frames before Sean Murphy hit a solo shot off him in the fifth. That was the only run the right-hander allowed, and he departed in line for the win with one out in the sixth only to see Minnesota's bullpen give up the lead in the ninth. Maeda finished with his third quality start over his past four outings, and he's now allowed three or fewer runs in each of his six starts since returning from the injured list June 23. During that span, the veteran hurler has posted very solid numbers, including a 2.48 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 44:11 K:BB over 32.2 innings.

Dylan Bundy SP | NYM
Dylan Bundy: Parts ways with Mets
The Mets released Bundy on Monday.
Bundy joined the Mets on a minor-league deal in late March and was never able to earn a promotion to the big club after posting a 10.08 ERA and 1.96 WHIP over 25 innings in six starts with Triple-A Syracuse before landing on the club's 7-day injured list May 29. Syracuse activated Bundy over the weekend, but he didn't make another appearance before the Mets opted to part ways with the 30-year-old. Bundy will have to settle for another minor-league deal with another organization if he wants to keep his playing career going.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Hyun Jin Ryu: Unlikely to return over weekend
Ryu (elbow) isn't expected to be activated from the 60-day injured list during Toronto's weekend series against the Angels, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Ryu is slated to throw a bullpen either Monday or Tuesday, but the team doesn't expect him back in the starting rotation until next week. The Blue Jays may have a better idea of when the southpaw will make his 2023 season debut following his upcoming side session.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Dodgers' Noah Syndergaard: Making next rehab start Thursday
Syndergaard (finger) is scheduled to make another rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Syndergaard's upcoming start will be his third in the minors, and manager Dave Roberts noted Thursday's outing will be the right-hander's final one of the rehab assignment. "That's when the rubber meets the road, and we have to make a decision," stated Roberts. If he comes out of the appearance feeling healthy, the Dodgers should activate Syndergaard from the 15-day injured list and would likely give him another chance in the starting rotation, especially with Emmet Sheehan (8.49 ERA over his last five starts) struggling at the back end.
