Bryan Woo SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryan Woo: Notches first MLB victory
Woo (1-1) earned the win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out five batters over 5.1 scoreless innings.
Seattle set Woo up for success with four runs in the top of the first inning, and the rookie right-hander cruised to his first big-league victory with 5.1 scoreless frames. His three walks were a career high and certainly more than the Mariners wanted to see given the big lead they gave him, but none of the free passes came back to hurt him. Woo struggled in his first big-league start, giving up six runs over two frames against Texas on June 3, but he's been much better since, allowing just four runs over his subsequent 15.2 frames and posting a standout 21:4 K:BB over that stretch.

Mitch Keller SP | PIT
Pirates' Mitch Keller: Excellent in no-decision
Keller allowed one run on five hits and no walks while striking out five batters over seven innings in Thursday's no-decision against Miami.
Miami starter Braxton Garrett made more noise with 13 strikeouts, but Keller matched him on the scoreboard with just one earned run over seven frames. The Pittsburgh hurler allowed only extra-base hit (a double) and notched his 10th quality start of the campaign, tied for ninth-most in the league. While Keller has had some bumps of late -- he came into Thursday with a 6.14 ERA and 1.50 WHIP across his past five starts -- he's still putting up a career-best campaign overall. Through 16 starts, he's already notched a career-best eight wins while posting a 3.45 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 113:26 K:BB over 99 innings.

Braxton Garrett RP | CHC
Marlins' Braxton Garrett: Tallies career-high 13 punchouts
Garrett allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks while striking out 13 batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Garrett hit the ground running in the contest, striking out five of the first six batters he faced. The southpaw ended with a career-high 13 strikeouts, notching his first double-digit punchout performance of the season. Garrett has been one of the best pitchers in the league for over a month, posting a 2.00 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 56:8 K:BB in his past 45 innings across eight starts. While his ERA on the campaign is just decent at 3.64, it's largely inflated by a 4.1-inning, 11-run shelling against Atlanta on May 3. Take away that performance, and Garrett's season ERA sits at a much more tantalizing 2.49.

Shane McClanahan SP | TB
Rays' Shane McClanahan: Status unclear
Manager Kevin Cash said he hopes McClanahan will be "okay" after receiving treatment on his back Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
McClanahan was pulled in the fourth inning of Thursday's game against the Royals with mid-back tightness. After the contest, Cash noted that the issue lingered from McClanahan's prior outing but didn't provide any additional detail as to whether he may require a stint on the injured list.

Joe Ryan SP | MIN
Twins' Joe Ryan: Throws complete-game shutout
Ryan (8-4) earned the win Thursday, allowing three hits over nine scoreless innings against the Red Sox while striking out nine.
Ryan dominated the Red Sox, retiring the first 10 batters he faced before surrendering a one-out single to Justin Turner in the top of the fourth. He made short work of the next two hitters before striking out the side in the fifth, all swinging, and allowed only two more baserunners for the rest of the contest. It was a huge bounceback performance for Ryan after he allowed a season-high six runs in his previous start, while it also marked the first complete-game shutout for a Twins pitcher in more than five years.

Logan Taylor Allen RP | CLE
Guardians' Logan Allen: Hurls four scoreless innings
Allen did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing two hits and three walks over four scoreless innings against the Athletics. He struck out five.
The lefty was able to keep the Athletics off the scoreboard over four innings, but he needed 89 pitches to do so before being relieved by Nick Sandlin to open the fifth. This comes after the Allen lasted just three frames in his previous start, and he's now walked seven batters over his last seven innings of work. On a positive note, Allen was able to lower his ERA down to 3.68 on the season with the scoreless outing, and he'll look to bounce back at home next week when the Guardians take on the Royals.

Shane McClanahan SP | TB
Rays' Shane McClanahan: Dealing with back issue
McClanahan exited Thursday's game against the Royals with mid-back tightness, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
McClanahan was pulled in the fourth inning after a brief visit from manager Kevin Cash and a team trainer. The severity of the issue isn't known, but the initial diagnosis seems encouraging given it's not an arm injury.

JP Sears SP | SD
Athletics' JP Sears: Handed tough loss
Sears (1-5) took the loss Thursday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over seven innings against the Guardians. He struck out eight.
Sears retired the first 11 batters he faced before giving up a single to Jose Ramirez with two outs in the fourth inning. He would get out of the frame unscathed but wasn't so lucky in the fifth, leaving a sweeper up in the zone on his first pitch to Josh Bell, who then launched it 430 feet into the left-field stands. Both of the runs against the lefty came in the fifth inning, and he actually did a great job of mixing up his pitches over his seven frames before being dealt the tough loss. Sears' eight strikeouts were the second most he's recorded in a start this season, and he's now gone seven innings in two straight, posting a 15:1 K:BB ratio over that span.

Shane McClanahan SP | TB
Rays' Shane McClanahan: Exits Thursday's start
McClanahan exited Thursday's start against the Royals in the fourth inning with an undisclosed injury, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
One of the team's trainers went to the mound along with manager Kevin Cash. There was a brief conversation with McClanahan before he was pulled, but no further details are currently available. He allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks over 3.2 frames prior to his exit.

Tylor Megill SP | NYM
Mets' Tylor Megill: Optioned to Syracuse
The Mets optioned Megill to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.
After surrendering five runs (four earned) on four hits and four walks over just 2.1 frames Wednesday against Houston, Megill will head to Triple-A in order to get back on track. Megill was scheduled to pitch Tuesday against the Brewers, and there's been no word yet on who will replace him in the rotation.
