Burns (0-3) took the loss Monday against the Dodgers, conceding three runs on six hits and one walk over 5.2 innings with 10 strikeouts.

The rookie right-hander notched his third consecutive double-digit K performance but remains in search of his first win after six starts. Burns generated an astounding 21 whiffs out of his 91 total pitches. After allowing a run in the opening frame, the 22-year-old was steady until the fifth when Shohei Ohtani plated two additional runs on a double. Through 27.1 total innings, Burns sports an ugly 6.26 ERA and 1.54 WHIP; however, he has been unlucky as evidenced by a .400 BABIP against him, as he's pitched to a sterling 3.01 FIP and 45:12 K:BB. Burns currently lines up to make his next start during the MLB Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway against Atlanta this weekend.

Sanchez (9-3) took the loss Monday against the White Sox, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk in 6.2 innings. He struck out five.

Sanchez's recent tear on the mound came to a halt, as Monday marked the first time in his last seven starts that he yielded greater than one run. The All-Star left-hander surrendered at least four runs for the first time since his April 6 start versus the Dodgers, but he did throw at least six frames in his 10th straight outing. Sanchez will bring a strong 2.55 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 139:33 K:BB over 130.2 innings into this weekend's scheduled start against the Tigers, who have a poor .621 OPS versus left-handed pitching since the start of July.

Yamamoto (9-7) allowed one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings to earn the win Monday at Cincinnati. He struck out nine.

The Japanese righty generated an impressive 21 whiffs out of 101 total pitches en route to tallying his sixth outing with nine or more Ks this season. Yamamoto collected his 12th quality start, as the only run he conceded came on a Gavin Lux groundout in the opening frame. In 116.1 total innings, the 26-year-old has pitched to a 2.48 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 133:39 K:BB while allowing 10 home runs. Yamamoto tentatively lines up to make his next appearance in the Dodgers' home series against the Cardinals next week.

Schlittler (1-1) took the loss Monday against the Rays, conceding three runs on seven hits and four walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out five.

The New York rookie stumbled out the gate, as Junior Caminero cracked a two-run blast in the opening frame. Schlittler then found a groove with three scoreless frames before conceding another run on a Josh Lowe single in the fifth. Through 14.2 total innings, the 24-year-old sports a 4.91 ERA, 1.84 WHIP and 15:9 K:BB with three home runs allowed. Schlittler's future in the Yankees rotation is uncertain because Luis Gil (lat) is expected to return after making his final rehab start with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

Rasmussen (8-5) earned the win Monday against the Yankees, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts over five innings.

The Tampa Bay righty picked up his first win since June 25, which is also the last time he threw five frames. The Rays have been throttling Rasmussen's innings lately, as his season total now stands at 100.1 after tossing just 73.1 frames over his previous two seasons due to injuries. It didn't look like Rasmussen would qualify for the win after walking home two runs in the opening frame; however, he settled in after and conceded just one additional run over four scoreless innings to wrap his 81-pitch outing. Rasmussen will carry a 2.96 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 87:25 K:BB into his next start against the Dodgers at home this weekend.

Eflin did not factor into the decision in Monday's 11-4 win over the Blue Jays, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts over 4.1 innings.

Eflin threw 56 of 79 pitches for strikes but managed just six whiffs while giving up nine hard-hit balls, including two homers in the third inning. Some rust is understandable in his second start back from the injured list, but it marked the fifth time in 14 outings the 31-year-old has allowed multiple home runs. He'll carry a 5.93 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 50:13 K:BB across 71.1 innings into a tough road matchup with the Cubs this weekend.

Bassitt (11-5) took the loss against the Orioles on Monday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts over 2.1 innings.

Bassitt was tagged for six runs over the second and third innings, including back-to-back homers in the second. The rough outing puts a damper on what was previously a strong July, as the veteran entered Monday having yielded just seven earned runs in 26.1 frames this month. He'll take a 4.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 121:30 K:BB across 123 innings into a home matchup with the Royals this weekend.

Melton (1-1) earned the win against the Diamondbacks on Monday, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out five over seven scoreless innings.

Melton was given an early lead and shut down one of baseball's best offenses in his second career major-league start. He generated 11 whiffs on 87 pitches and didn't allow an extra-base hit despite yielding 12 hard-hit balls. The 24-year-old had a breakout season in the minors, establishing himself as the Tigers' best pitching prospect, and he owns a 4.50 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB through 12 innings in the majors. He lines up for another tough matchup with the Phillies this weekend.

Oviedo (lat/elbow) struck out five and allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over five innings in his most recent rehab start Thursday with Double-A Altoona.

Oviedo made the fifth start of his rehab assignment Thursday and came through with his lengthiest and best outing yet, tossing 63 pitches (42 strikes) while generating 10 of his 15 outs via strikeout or groundout. The right-hander is likely to move up to Triple-A Indianapolis for his next appearance, and if he's able to surpass the 70-pitch mark in that outing, he could then be cleared to return from the 60-day injured list. The Pirates don't appear to have an opening for Oviedo in the rotation at the moment, but a spot could open up if Pittsburgh elects to move at least one of Mitch Keller, Bailey Falter or Andrew Heaney ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

Rodriguez (3-7) took the loss against the Tigers on Monday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings.

Rodriguez allowed runs in four different innings, including home runs in the fourth and sixth. The long ball has become an issue for the southpaw, who's surrendered seven homers across four July outings while posting a 7.40 ERA during that span. He'll carry a 5.63 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 98:34 K:BB over 92.2 innings into a road matchup with the Athletics this weekend.
