Soriano (4-5) picked up the win Friday after throwing six shutout innings, allowing four hits and four walks. He recorded two strikeouts during the 4-1 victory over the Guardians.

Soriano rebounded nicely from his shortest start in six outings with a shutdown performance against the Guardians. He didn't have his best stuff, tying his season high for walks with four and striking out just two batters, but he was effective nonetheless. That 26-year-old made it six outings in a row allowing three runs or fewer.

Giolito didn't factor into the decision Friday against Atlanta after allowing one run on five hits and two walks in 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

It was a respectable performance from Giolito, who kept the ball in the yard and didn't surrender any extra-base hits. The veteran right-hander has given up six runs on a pair of occasions this season, which has considerably damaged his ratios, and he's reached the fifth inning in just three of his first six appearances while posting quality starts in the other three. Giolito has a 4.78 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB over 32 innings, and he shapes up as a volatile fantasy option versus the Angels in his next scheduled outing.

Ortiz (2-6) was hit with the loss Friday despite allowing just one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in a 4-1 loss against the Angels.

Ortiz probably deserved better after working through six innings and allowing just one run. The Guardians trailed 1-0 when he departed the game, and as a result, he gets tagged with the loss. It continues an unfortunate pattern for the 26-year-old, who has allowed three runs or fewer in four straight starts (2.86 ERA), but is 0-3 over that same timeframe.

Henriquez (foot) kicked off a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, independent writer Howard Cole reports.

Henriquez looked a bit rusty Thursday in his first rehab outing, allowing one run on one hit and two walks while striking out one batter over two-thirds of an inning. The right-handed reliever remains on the 60-day IL after suffering a left foot injury early this spring. Henriquez got his first taste of major-league action last year, posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 5:2 K:BB over 3.1 innings during the regular season before allowing four runs over five frames across three playoff appearances.

Bassitt (5-3) earned the win against the Athletics on Friday, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six across five innings.

Bassitt started out strong by retiring the side in the first inning, but he proceeded to give up at least one run in each of the next four frames, including solo home runs to Tyler Soderstrom and Shea Langeliers in the second and fourth, respectively. It was the second straight game in which Bassitt yielded five earned runs, but he got enough run support from the Blue Jays' batters to come away with his third win in May. He has a 3.80 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 66.1 innings this season, and his 69 strikeouts rank 11th in the American League. Bassitt will look for win No. 6 of the season in his next start, tentatively slated for next week on the road against the Twins.

Freeland (0-8) took the loss against the Mets on Friday, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks while striking out four across six innings.

Freeland put the Rockies behind early when he yielded a leadoff home run to Francisco Lindor. Freeland gave up additional runs in the third and fourth, including a Starling Marte solo homer. The 32-year-old southpaw was able to limit the damage to three runs and came away with his fourth quality start of the season, but he couldn't avoid the loss as the Rockies were limited to just two runs. Freeland hasn't recorded a win since September of 2024, and through 12 starts this season he holds a 5.72 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 48:13 K:BB across 61.1 innings. He'll look to get into the win column for the first time in 2025 in his next start, tentatively slated for next week on the road against Miami.

Priester (2-2) earned the win against the Phillies on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and no walks without recording a strikeout over six innings.

DL Hall tossed three scoreless frames as the opener before Priester delivered six strong innings to close out the game. It was an interesting outing for the 24-year-old, who needed just 71 pitches to cover six innings and didn't issue a walk for the first time all season. However, he also generated just six whiffs and failed to record a strikeout for the first time this year. He owns a 4.09 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 32:23 K:BB across 50.2 innings and lines up for a road matchup with the Reds next week.

Walker (2-4) took the loss against the Brewers on Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over four innings.

Walker allowed two runs in the first inning and was charged with two more after failing to record an out in the fifth. While he did generate 11 whiffs, he threw only 53 of 89 pitches for strikes and was unable to complete five innings for the fourth time in eight starts this season. The 32-year-old owns a 3.53 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 39:17 K:BB across 43.1 innings between starting and relief roles. If he gets another shot in the rotation, it should come on the road against the Blue Jays next week.

Peterson (4-2) earned the win against the Rockies on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out five across 5.2 innings.

Peterson faced the minimum number of batters in two of the first five innings of Friday's game. He was brought back out for the sixth, but he was lifted after yielding an RBI double to Ryan McMahon. Peterson was one out shy from what would have been his fifth straight quality start (and seventh of the season), but regardless he received enough run support to come away with the win. The 29-year-old southpaw hasn't given up more than three earned runs in any of his 11 starts this season, and his 2.69 ERA (across 63.2 innings) is sixth best among qualified starters in the National League this season. He is slated to make his next start on the road against the Dodgers next week.

Eflin (4-2) earned the win against the White Sox on Friday, allowing four hits and one walk while striking out six over seven scoreless innings.

Eflin threw 67 of 99 pitches for strikes and generated 12 whiffs in his best outing of the season. It was an encouraging bounce-back performance after the 31-year-old allowed seven home runs over his previous two starts. He owns a 4.46 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 24:6 K:BB across 40.1 innings this season and will look to build on this momentum in a road matchup with the Mariners next week.
