Torrid Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts is catching a break Wednesday against Baltimore, per Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.

Bogaerts continues to rake in the late months of the season, batting .375/.417/.500 with a home run and 11 RBI over 56 at-bats in September. He's been one of the bright spots for the team this season, but he'll be replaced in favor of Deven Marrero, who'll bat ninth in the lineup.

Blue Jays replacement shortstop Cliff Pennington did his best Troy Tulowitzki impression at the plate Tuesday, going 2 for 3 with a walk and RBI in a loss to Atlanta.

With Tulowitzki out of the lineup for the next few weeks, the onus will be on Pennington to help pick up the slack. Tuesday was his first multi-hit game since joining the Blue Jays, which isn't altogether surprising considering he arrived at the park with four hits while on the Blue Jays.

Over the past four games, he's 4 for 13 with two walks, showing that he's taking steps in the right direction.

Bogaerts continues his red-hot September, one that has already seen him post seven multi-hit games, reach base safely in all 13 contests, and knock in 11 runs. The Boston standout has turned in a spectacular sophomore campaign and would appear to have more than enough ability to build on his success in 2016.

Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor was not in Tuesday's lineup due to an illness, reports MLB.com. Lindor began feeling sick Monday.

Astros prized rookie Carlos Correa managed just one hit Monday in Oakland, but he certainly make the most of it. He launched a three-run homer in the seventh inning for his 17th home run this season.

He also had an RBI groundout in the first inning and finished the game with four RBI.

Correa is 6 for 13 over his last three games, but when he crossed the plate after going yard, it marked his first run scored in September.

Xander Bogaerts had just one hit Saturday, but it was a big one, as the shortstop drove in four runs in the Red Sox's big win over the Phillies. 

Bogaerts hit a bases-loaded double in the third inning to drive in three runs and he would wind up scoring on an error for a Little League home run. He would then add another RBI on a ground-out in the eighth inning. 

Bogaerts now has 69 RBI on the season, second on the team. 

The Angels activated the following players from the disabled list: Collin Cowgill, Taylor Featherston, David Freese, Matt Joyce and Cory Rasmus. Freese will start in Tuesday's contest. 

Moreover, the team called up Jett Bandy, Michael Morin, Nick Tropeano and Wesley Wright. The team also designated Alfredo Marte and Drew Rucinski for assignment.

After missing five games with a hamstring injury, Astros rookie shortstop Carlos Correa returned with a bang. The young phenom went 2 for 4 with a two-run home run, as the Astros defeated the Mariners 8-3 on Monday.

Correa's home run gives him 16 on the year. According to Elias, Correa's 16 dingers are the second-most ever by a shortstop before his 21st birthday--Alex Rodriguez had 26. 

Astros shortstop Carlos Correa is back in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Mariners. Correa missed four straight games due to a hamstring injury, but after going through pre-game drills, the Astros gave him the green light to return.

Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was held out of Sunday's lineup, the team announced.

It will be the fourth straight game Correa has not started due to a sore left hamstring. He will run the bases and conduct some agility work in the outfield on Monday.
