  • Taylor Walls 3B | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Fills stat sheet in win

Walls went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI, an additional run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-1 win over the Orioles.

Walls had his best game of the season Saturday, homering for the first time this year in the third inning and swiping his 13th bag in the eighth. The shortstop has produced on just six hits in his past 10 games, scoring six times while driving in seven runs. On the season, he is hitting just .178 with 12 RBI and 23 runs scored across 212 plate appearances.

  • Willi Castro LF | COL

Twins' Willi Castro: Idle again Saturday

Castro is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.

Castro is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game, marking his first back-to-back absences from the starting lineup since April. Though there haven't been any reports of an injury, fantasy managers should keep an eye on Castro's availability.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Officially activated

Story (shoulder) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Story draws the start at shortstop and will bat seventh for the Red Sox on Saturday, marking the 31-year-old's first MLB showing since suffering a dislocated shoulder in early April. Story appeared in four rehab games prior to being activated and notched four hits in his final minor-league outing.

  • Jose Caballero 2B | NYY

Rays' Jose Caballero: Getting Saturday off

Caballero isn't in the Rays' lineup Saturday against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Caballero will get a breather Saturday after going 3-for-15 with an RBI and two runs scored through his first five games of September. His absence will allow Taylor Walls to draw a start at shortstop while batting eighth.

  • Trey Sweeney SS | DET

Tigers' Trey Sweeney: Idle versus southpaw

Sweeney isn't in Detroit's lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics.

With southpaw Brady Basso set to take the mound for the A's, the lefty-hitting Sweeney will step out of the starting nine Saturday. In his place, Zach McKinstry will pick up a start at shortstop and bat seventh.

  • Jacob Wilson SS | ATH

    Athletics' Jacob Wilson: Idle Saturday

Wilson isn't in the Athletics' lineup Saturday against the Tigers.

Wilson went 2-for-4 with an RBI during Friday's series opener, and he'll now grab a seat on the bench while Nick Allen starts at shortstop, batting eighth.

  • Max Schuemann 2B | NYY

Athletics' Max Schuemann: Not starting Saturday

Schuemann isn't in Oakland's lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.

Schuemann will take a seat Saturday after going 0-for-5 with three strikeouts in Friday's series opener. His absence will move Tristan Gray to third base while Seth Brown covers first, allowing Daz Cameron to pick up a start in left field.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: On base four times Friday

Crawford went 1-for-2 with two walks, a hit-by-pitch and a run in a win over the Cardinals on Friday.

The busy game on the basepaths was a badly needed one for the struggling Crawford, who'd recently been bumped from the top of the order and had come into the night slashing .083/.290/.083 over the 31 plate appearances covering his first seven games back from the injured list. Crawford had run into some tough luck during that stretch, so it's conceivable Friday's performance is the start of a turnaround to some degree.

  • Dylan Moore LF | PHI

Mariners' Dylan Moore: Lifts 10th homer Friday

Moore went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a win over the Cardinals on Friday.

Moore slugged a two-run shot in the sixth inning to extend the Mariners' lead to 3-0, giving him his second straight two-RBI effort. The round tripper also snapped a 31-game homerless drought for Moore, who'd last left the yard July 26. The veteran sports a .701 OPS for the season despite the drag of a .205 average, as he's knocked 36 of his 69 hits for extra bases and sports an 11.0 percent walk rate.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Will move to second base

Rafaela is expected to move to second base Saturday, when shortstop Trevor Story (shoulder) will be activated off the 60-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

Second base has been a revolving door all season for the Red Sox, whose second basemen have combined for league lows in batting average (.196) and OPS (.535). The position had been designated for Vaughn Grissom, but his injuries, setbacks and performance in the minors prevented that plan from being executed. Rafaela, whose two-run home run was the winning blow Friday, has slumped of late, going 5-for-36 (.139) with 14 strikeouts over the last 11 contests.
