Red Sox's David Hamilton: Checking back into starting nine
Hamilton (side) will start at shortstop and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.
Hamilton is back in the lineup after he was withheld from the starting nine Tuesday due to the left side injury he suffered in Monday's 7-3 win in the series opener. Despite opening Tuesday's 4-3 victory on the bench, Hamilton still made an impact with his legs, entering the game as a pinch runner in the eighth inning and contributing a stolen base and a run. With Hamilton checking out fine following his brief cameo Wednesday, he'll get the green light to start the series finale and will occupy a prominent spot in the batting order.

Blue Jays' Orelvis Martinez: Absent from lineup again
Martinez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Red Sox.
Martinez didn't play Tuesday in his first game after receiving a promotion and he will begin Wednesday's tilt on the bench, as well. It's not a good sign for the youngster's playing time outlook during his first stint in the big leagues. The Blue Jays have Spencer Horwitz at second base, Addison Barger at third base and Isiah Kiner-Falefa at shortstop Wednesday.

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Enters as pinch runner
Hamilton (side) entered Tuesday's game as a pinch runner, stole a base and scored a run in a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Blue Jays.
Hamilton was held out of the starting lineup after exiting Monday's game with discomfort in his side. Taylor Walls 3B | TB
Rays' Taylor Walls: Not in Tuesday's lineup
Walls (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Minnesota.
It's not clear whether Walls remains under the weather or if the Rays had planned to start Jose Caballero at shortstop in this one regardless. Walls has been the club's primary shortstop since coming off the injured list earlier this month.

Red Sox's David Hamilton: On bench Tuesday
Hamilton (side) is absent from the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Hamilton was lifted from Monday's game against the Blue Jays with left side discomfort and will be held out of Tuesday's starting nine. The severity of the injury is unclear, but a team day off Thursday should aid Hamilton's recovery, if necessary. Ceddanne Rafaela will play shortstop and bat ninth in Hamilton's place Tuesday.

Jose Caballero 2B | NYY
Rays' Jose Caballero: Back in lineup Tuesday
Caballero (calf) will start at shortstop and bat sixth in Tuesday's game in Minnesota.

Blue Jays' Orelvis Martinez: Called up to big leagues
The Blue Jays recalled Martinez from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Martinez is taking the roster spot vacated by Bo Bichette (calf), who has landed on the 10-day injured list. It's the first major-league promotion for Martinez, who has slashed .260/.343/.523 with 16 home runs over 63 games this season with Buffalo. The 22-year-old can play second base, third base and shortstop, although he hasn't seen any time at the latter position this season. Martinez should see some action at second and/or third base while Bichette is out, with Isiah Kiner-Falefa likely to settle in at shortstop.
