  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Shifts to 60-day IL

Fletcher (hip) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

The 27-year-old is expected to miss multiple months after undergoing surgery to repair the adductor muscles in both legs last week, so it's not a major surprise he was moved to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Fletcher will be eligible to be activated in mid-July, but his recovery timeline likely won't come into focus until he's able to resume baseball activities.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Not starting Game 2

Anderson is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Anderson went 0-for-4 with a run and a strikeout during the matinee and will take a seat for Game 2 of the twin bill. Leury Garcia will shift to shortstop while Josh Harrison starts at the keystone.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Good to go

Pena (knee) will bat seventh and play shortstop Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Pena hasn't played since Thursday while recovering from a sore knee, but he'll return here without requiring a trip to the injured list. He's still carrying a nine-game hitting streak he recorded prior to the injury, a stretch in which he slashed .448/.469/.724 with a pair of homers and a steal.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Orioles' Chris Owings: Sits for third straight

Owings is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After a stretch of five consecutive starts last week in which he went 3-for-15 with a double, two walks and three runs, Owings finds himself on the bench for the third game in a row. Even with Ryan Mountcastle (wrist) on the injured list and Jorge Mateo (shoulder/chest), Ramon Urias (abdomen) and Austin Hays (hand) having all recently missed time with injuries, Owings still appears to be behind Tyler Nevin and Ryan McKenna in the pecking order among the team's utility options.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | ATL

Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Remains out Tuesday

Mateo (shoulder/chest) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

On a positive note, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports that Mateo said his sore left shoulder is feeling better Tuesday, but the Orioles wanted to give the infielder at least one more day to heal. Mateo is still scheduled to take batting practice with the rest of his teammates, which bodes well for his chances of re-entering the lineup Wednesday. Ramon Urias will pick up a start at shortstop in place of Mateo on Tuesday.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Not in Tuesday's lineup

Correa (finger) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Athletics and remains on the 10-day injured list.

Previous reports indicated that Correa would return from the injured list to play Tuesday, but if that happens, it would be in a bench role, which seems unlikely. The Twins do still believe he could return this series, per MLB.com, which would make Wednesday his new expected return date, as the team has an off day Thursday before traveling to Kansas City on Friday. Royce Lewis will get at least one more start at shortstop as a result.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Twins' Carlos Correa: Expected back Tuesday

The Twins plan to activate Correa (finger) from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game in Oakland, Damin Esper of MLB.com reports.

Minnesota already opened up one spot on the 26-man active roster by designating reliever Jharel Cotton for assignment after Monday's 3-1 win in the series opener, but the Twins will have to make an additional move to clear room for Correa and starting pitcher Dylan Bundy (illness), who is scheduled to come off the COVID-19 IL to take the hill Tuesday. The Twins could open up another spot by optioning top prospect Royce Lewis to Triple-A St. Paul, even though the rookie posted a solid .763 OPS over 10 games while stepping in as the primary shortstop during Correa's absence. Even if Minnesota elects to keep Lewis around in a utility role, Correa should immediately step back into an everyday role at shortstop now that his bruised right middle finger is no longer causing him complications in the field or when he swings a bat.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Mashes third homer

Bogaerts went 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run home run in Monday's 6-3 win over the Astros.

The 29-year-old continues to rack up base hits, but Bogaerts is also starting to find his power stroke again. Through 13 games in May, he's slashing .300/.379/.440 with two of his three homers on the year.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Blasts second homer

Story went 1-for-3 with a walk, a solo home run and a stolen base in Monday's 6-3 win over the Astros.

His seventh-inning blast off Phil Maton was his first home homer as a member of the Red Sox and it left Fenway Park entirely, flying over the Green Monster and onto Lansdowne Street. Both of Story's home runs on the season have come in the last five games as he begins to show signs of life at the plate, and he's also stolen a bag in three straight games.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Three hits with homer

Bichette went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs in the win Monday over the Mariners.

Bichette took Chris Flexen deep in his first at-bat Monday, giving the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. He later singled twice, adding another RBI and coming around to score again. The homer was his fourth of the year and first since May 1. The three-hit effort was the shortstop's second in his last five contests, though he had gone 0-for-10 in his last three heading into Monday's victory. Bichette has yet to find his stride this season and his slash line is at .247/.285/.373 over 150 at-bats, all of which represent career worsts. The 24-year-old will look to have more similar outputs in the near future and return to form as the campaign goes on.
