Anderson went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run Monday in the White Sox's 11-1 win over the Twins.

After back-to-back three-hit performances, Anderson's batting average now sits at .300 for the third season in a row. The shortstop staked the White Sox to an early advantage with a leadoff home run off Beau Burrows, one of three long balls Chicago slugged in the first two innings.

Velazquez had his contract selected by the Yankees on Monday.

Velazquez joined New York on a minor-league deal during the offseason and will receive a big-league chance after spending the first four months of the season in the minors. The 27-year-old has an .845 OPS with 26 stolen bases in 69 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will provide depth at shortstop with Gleyber Torres (thumb) landing on the injured list.

Rocchio was promoted to Double-A Akron on July 30 and has hit .167/.306/.267 across his first eight games there.

He was much more productive in High-A, where Rocchio banged out a .265/.337/.428 batting line with nine homers and 14 steals. The 20-year-old shortstop's talent has earned Francisco Lindor comps, but his stats haven't quite caught up to the hype yet. The good news is that despite his tough start in Double-A, Rocchio has posted a strong 5:7 BB:K. With his speed and a solid hit tool, Rocchio carries noteworthy fantasy intrigue, but Cleveland would do well not to rush him to the big leagues.

Mateo went 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 9-6 loss to Tampa Bay.

The speedster was plunked by Michael Wacha in the second inning, then stole second and scored on a Richie Martin single. Mateo has recorded two steals in has last two games, giving him seven in 60 games between Baltimore and San Diego. As long as he can perform reasonably well at that plate, Mateo should see a large share of playing time at second base over the last two months of the season.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with a double, a solo home run, an additional run and a strikeout in a 9-3 victory over the Cubs on Sunday.

Anderson homered to lead off the game as part of a five-run first, singled and scored in the second and doubled in the eighth to reach base three times for the second time this month. The strong performance at the dish snapped a 2-for-18 mini-slump over Anderson's last four games, and the shortstop is now slashing .296/.327/.440 on the season.

Anderson is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Sunday against the Cubs, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Anderson was originally slated for an off day in the series finale, but the shortstop was able to convince manager Tony La Russa to add him to the starting nine. Leury Garcia was scheduled to start at shortstop but will now come off the bench.

Anderson is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cubs, Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Anderson has a .500 OPS across his past 10 games and will receive a day off for the series finale versus the Cubs. Leury Garcia will take over at shortstop for the White Sox.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday's 4-0 win over the Twins.

Diaz doubled off Caleb Thielbar in the eighth inning, driving in Carlos Correa and Kyle Tucker. In addition, he added a single in the second frame. The 30-year-old is batting .295 with three homers and 10 RBI over his last 10 games since coming off the injured list. On the season, he is slashing .283/.333/.472 with six long balls, 28 RBI and 21 runs scored in 171 plate appearances.

Bichette is not in the lineup Sunday against the Red Sox due to a pair of left shin contusions, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports.

Bichette appeared to be receiving his first maintenance day of the season, but he's actually dealing with a minor injury. The 23-year-old is considered day-to-day, and he'll have two days to recover before being at risk of missing more time thanks to Monday's scheduled off day. Marcus Semien will slide over to shortstop while Breyvic Valera starts at second base Sunday.

Wendle went 3-for-5 with four runs Saturday in the Rays' 12-3 win over the Orioles.

Since notching a season-high four hits July 24 in Cleveland, Wendle fell into a 3-for-21 slump at the plate over his subsequent six starts before his bat caught fire Saturday. Though Wendle is holding down a credible .774 OPS on the season, the Rays' infield logjam will likely continue to cost him at least a couple of starts per week. He'll remain in the lineup for Sunday's series finale, manning third base and batting sixth.
