  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Laces RBI triple

Wendle went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple in a win over the Orioles on Wednesday.

Wendle now has two triples in three straight seasons, and Wednesday's three-bagger snapped a 1-1 tie in the second inning. The lefty-swinging 31-year-old has played in only nine July games due to matchup considerations, but he's reached safely in eight of them while lacing four of his 10 hits during that sample for extra bases.

  • Blue Jays' Orelvis Martinez: Two more blasts for Dunedin

Martinez went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, two home runs, three runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base for Low-A Dunedin on Wednesday.

Toronto's No. 4 fantasy prospect is overmatching pitchers in his first taste of full-season ball, despite the fact that he doesn't turn 20 years old until November. Martinez has gone yard 11 times through 17 games in July, slashing a dizzying .400/.494/1.015 over that stretch, and while the Jays won't want to rush him up the ladder he seems more than ready for a new challenge.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Run streak snapped

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 7-2 loss to Minnesota.

Anderson had two streaks snapped within the last two games. A 16-game hitting streak ceased Tuesday, then a 13-game run-scoring streak was halted Wednesday. The latest theft leaves him at 16 steals, putting Anderson in line for his second 20-steal season and first since 2018.

  • Yu Chang SS | TB

Indians' Yu Chang: Recalled by Cleveland

Chang was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.

Chang spent just under three weeks in the minors, and he slashed .310/.396/.524 with two home runs, six RBI and six runs across 11 games. He's starting at first base in Wednesday's game against the Astros and batting eighth.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Swipes fifth bag

Fletcher went 1-for-5 with a stolen base Tuesday in a loss to Oakland.

Fletcher led off the third inning with a single and subsequently stole second base, but the Angels were unable to bring him home. The infielder recently had his 26-game hit streak snapped, but since that time, he has gone 3-for-8 with a double over two games.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Begins rehab at Double-A

Diaz (hand) went 0-for-2 with two walks in a rehab game at Double-A Corpus Christi on Tuesday.

The Astros moved Diaz's rehab from the Gulf Coast League to Double-A Corpus Christi, for which he served as the designated hitter Tuesday. The Astros will want the utility infielder to play in the field, probably on back-to-back days, before reinstating him to the active roster.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Takes seat Tuesday

Wendle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Wendle will be a victim of the Rays' logjam in the infield for the second time in four games. Wander Franco will cover third base in place of Wendle, who sits after going 1-for-8 with four strikeouts while starting the past two contests.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Reaches base three times in loss

Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a double and a walk in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Athletics.

Fletcher wasted no time getting back in the hit column after Sunday's goose egg, smacking a leadoff double against Cole Irvin. The 27-year-old reached base two more times but never scored as the Angels struggled mightily with runners in scoring position despite tallying eight hits. Fletcher remains one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball. He's logged multi-hit performances in eight of his last 10 games, raising his slash line to .316/.343/.399 with 24 extra-base hits, 38 RBI, 54 runs scored, four steals and a 15:40 BB:K over 373 plate appearances.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

    Astros' Carlos Correa: Slump lingers

Correa went 0-for-3 with a walk in Monday's 4-3 win over Cleveland.

Correa's been fighting a slump since early July, which was made worse by a stint on the COVID-19 injured list. Since a sixth-inning single July 4, the shortstop has gone 0-for-26 with 13 strikeouts. In the middle of that stretch, he was placed on the injured list. He confirmed to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com that he tested negative for the virus but was hospitalized and required intravenous fluids July 9. Correa said his timing has been off since coming back from the illness.

  • Bo Bichette 3B | NYM

Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Registers 61st RBI

Bichette went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's loss to the Red Sox.

Bichette recorded an RBI in the bottom of the fourth inning on an infield single, but it would be the last time his team would score in the contest. He's now 18-for-50 (.360) with a home run, eight RBI and seven runs scored through 13 games in July.
