  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Knocks in run

Correa went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 loss to San Diego.

Correa's first-inning single plated one of the three Houston runs scored in that frame. He's been the Astros' steadiest hitter in 2020 and has moved up to third in the batting order the last four games, replacing the injured Alex Bregman (hamstring). The shortstop, who has dealt with injuries the last three seasons, has appeared in all 28 games thus far and leads the team with a .300 average.

  • Indians' Francisco Lindor: Wields hot bat in win

Lindor went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored Saturday in the Indians' 6-1 win over the Tigers.

After a slow start at the dish to begin the season, Lindor is rounding into peak form offensively. Over his last 10 games, Lindor is slashing .302/.362/.442 with a home run, three doubles, seven runs and four RBI. He'll start at shortstop and will bat third in Sunday's series finale.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Joins lineup late

Wendle will start at third base and bat sixth Saturday against the Blue Jays.

The 30-year-old was originally stationed on the bench for Saturday's contest, but he'll join the starting nine with Yandy Diaz (head) a late scratch. Wendle has a .295/.368/.459 slash line through 68 plate appearances and could see more consistent at-bats if Diaz is forced to miss time.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Not in lineup Saturday

Gordon isn't in the lineup Saturday against the Rangers.

Even with right-hander Jordan Lyles on the mound for Texas on Saturday, Gordon will take a seat. Sam Haggerty will take over in left field, batting second.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Collects three hits

Fletcher went 3-for-5 with a double and a run in a 5-3 loss to the Athletics on Friday.

Fletcher scored the Angels' first run of the game in the fifth inning, beginning the frame with a double and coming around to score on a single by Anthony Rendon. The multi-hit effort was the eighth of the season for Fletcher, who is slashing .313/.373/.464 with three homers and nine RBI. He is tied for the team lead with 17 runs scored.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Homers in second straight

Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in an 8-5 win over the Orioles on Friday.

Bogaerts got the scoring started for the Red Sox with a solo shot to center field in the second inning. Slashing .281/.343/.528, the young shortstop has been one of the more consistent hitters for his club and should see more RBI chances once hitters in front of him like J.D. Martinez and Rafael Devers start to heat up at the plate.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Rays' Willy Adames: Not starting Friday

Adames is not in the lineup for Friday's game against Toronto.

The Rays continue to rotate heavily around the diamond, though Adames has as close to an everyday role as anyone in Tampa, starting 23 of the first 27 games at shortstop. Joey Wendle starts at the position Friday.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Homers in three-hit effort

Bogaerts went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in Thursday's victory over Baltimore.

The shortstop registered his fifth multi-hit effort of the campaign in the win and swatted his fifth homer -- a solo shot to left field in the third inning. Bogaerts boosted his batting average nearly 20 points with the effort and is now slashing .282/.347/.506 through 95 plate appearances.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Fills up box score in win

Anderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a single, two runs scored and a stolen base in Thursday's 9-0 win over the Tigers.

Anderson extended Chicago's lead to 5-0 with his home run off Tyler Alexander in the fourth inning. The 2019 MLB batting champion is 13-for-32 with four homers and seven RBI since being reinstated from the injured list on Aug. 11. He will bring an impressive .379/.414/.758 slash line into the weekend series with the Cubs.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Drives in three

Wendle went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 10-5 win over the Yankees.

Wendle tied the game at two with a two-run double in the fifth and gave the Rays a 5-4 lead with a run-scoring single an inning later. The infielder is slashing .281/.349/.456 on the year.
