    Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Beginning rehab stint Monday

    Diaz (hamstring) will start a rehab assignment Monday, Hunter Atkins of the Houston Chronicle reports.

    Diaz reportedly has been participating in baseball activities since June 4, but he's finally been given the green light to head out on a rehab stint. Given his lengthy absence, he figures to require at least a few games in the minors in order to get back up to speed.

    Angels' David Fletcher: Reaches base four times in win

    Fletcher went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk and two runs Sunday in the Angels' 11-10 loss to the Astros in 10 innings.

    Fletcher will carry a five-game hitting streak into the All-Star break and boosted his season line to an impressive .295/.359/.409 after reaching base four times in the series finale in Houston. With Tommy La Stella (lower leg) likely on the shelf until September, Fletcher, who led off the past two days, may be on track to serve as the Angels' full-time table setter for the foreseeable future.

    Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Tigers.

    Bogaerts extended Boston's lead to three in the fifth inning with a double to left field, and the Red Sox would ultimately cruse to a 6-3 victory. The 26-year-old shortstop has pieced together an impressive first half, slashing .294/.384/.535 with 17 homers and 65 RBI over 86 contests.

    Rays' Joey Wendle: Riding pine versus lefty

    Wendle is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

    Wendle will sit out for the second straight day with the Rays opposing a lefty (James Paxton) in the series finale. Platoon mate Mike Brosseau will replace Wendle at second base and bat sixth.

    Lindor went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in a 7-2 win over the Reds on Saturday.

    Lindor was without a home run in his previous 15 games, but he went deep twice Saturday off Cincinnati starter Anthony DeSclafani. The 25-year-old has a .295/.356/.511 slash line with 14 home runs and 13 stolen bases in 68 games this season.

    Rays' Joey Wendle: Absent from lineup

    Wendle is not in the lineup Saturday against the Yankees.

    Wendle has started in 18 of the team's last 20 contests but will hit the bench Saturday. Mike Brosseau will draw the start at second base and bat fifth in his place.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Absent from lineup Saturday

    Bogaerts is not in the lineup against Detroit on Saturday.

    Bogaerts will draw his first day off since May 26, coming off a four-RBI performance Friday. That was a continuation of what has been a strong season for Bogaerts, as he's currently hitting .295/.385/.535 across 384 plate appearances. Brock Holt will start at shortstop and bat seventh in his place.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Huge three-hit effort

    Mondesi went 3-for-6 with a triple, a double, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in a 7-4 win over the Nationals on Friday.

    Mondesi got the Royals bats going with an RBI triple in the third inning to tie the game at 1-1, and he extended the lead after following up a fifth-inning double with a stolen base and scoring on an ensuing single. After the Nationals rallied to tie the game in the ninth inning, the young shortstop hit a clutch go-ahead RBI single in the 11th inning to help secure the win. Since returning from a groin injury that cost the 23-year-old two weeks in June, Mondesi has five hits and six RBI in 20 at-bats. He's now slashing .269/.299/.450 on the year and has stolen a major-league-leading 28 bases.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Drives in four

    Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a homer, a walk and four RBI in Friday's win over Detroit.

    Bogaerts opened the scoring with an RBI groundout in the first inning. He later stretched Boston's lead to four with a three-run shot in the top of the eighth. He now has 17 homers on the season, just six shy of his career high.

    Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Strokes fourth homer

    Crawford went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI in the Mariners' 5-4 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday.

    The young shortstop checked in with his fourth long ball of the season with this first-inning solo shot off Michael Wacha. Crawford has been impressive at the dish since he was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in May, as he's now slashing .290/.361/.486 over 151 plate appearances.
