  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Not in Thursday's lineup

Adrianza is out of the lineup versus Detroit on Thursday.

Adrianza will take a seat for the second straight game after starting 12 of the previous 13. In his spot, Gregorio Petit will man the hot corner and bat ninth in the order.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Drives in run Wednesday

Correa went 1-for-4 with an RBI and struck out three times in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Blue Jays.

Correa served as the designated hitter and delivered Houston's lone run on an infield dribbler up the third-base line. This was his first game after missing six games with a sore back. He told Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle his swings felt normal, and that he felt comfortable at the plate. We suspect the Astros will want to give Correa more at-bats over the final few games and see him play the field for nine innings.

  • Indians' Francisco Lindor: Blast 37th home run

Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the White Sox.

Lindor led off the game with his 37th home run and later smacked another hit before being lifted early in the 10-2 rout. The 24-year-old set a new personal best with his 90th RBI, but he's otherwise struggled some of late with just a .242 average over 99 at-bats in September.

  • Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Swipes two bases

Mondesi went 2-for-5 with a triple, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Wednesday's win over the Reds.

Mondesi singled in the first inning and stole his way to third base before coming around to score on a Salvador Perez double. He added a triple in the fifth inning, scoring another run on a groundout from Alex Gordon. The 23-year-old has done nothing but produce at the plate in September, slashing .305/.330/.568 with six homers, 10 stolen bases, 17 runs and 13 RBI through 22 games.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Takes seat Wednesday

Gordon is not in the lineup Wednesday against the A's.

Gordon has started eight of the last nine games for Seattle, slashing .250/.276/.607 with two homers, two triples and five RBI during that stretch. He'll hit the bench for Wednesday's series finale with Robinson Cano covering the keystone in his place.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Sits out for Game 2 of twin bill

Bogaerts is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Bogaerts will sit after going 2-for-4 with a double, a homer, four RBI and two runs scored during the team's 19-3 victory in Game 1. The shortstop is now sitting at 22 homers and 100 RBI on the season, both career-best marks. Tzu-Wei Lin is starting at shortstop in his stead.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Hits bench Wednesday

Adrianza is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Adrianza has fallen into a near-everyday role with Miguel Sano out with a leg injury. He sits Wednesday after starting 12 of the last 13 games. Willians Astudillo will move out from behind the plate to start at third base, with Chris Gimenez catching.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Blue Jays' Jon Berti: Called up for MLB debut

Berti was called up by the Blue Jays on Wednesday and will make his major-league debut, batting ninth and playing second base against the Astros.

The 28-year-old career minor leaguer was traded away to Cleveland in April only to be sent back in June. He has a career .212/.290/.303 slash line in parts of four seasons at the Triple-A level. He has the ability to provide depth at second base, third base and left field.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: In Wednesday's lineup

Correa (back) will bat third and serve as Houston's DH against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Correa missed the past six games due to a sore back, but he's back in the lineup for Wednesday's series finale a day after the Astros clinched the division. Look for Correa to work his way back to his typical spot at shortstop over the next few days.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Not starting Tuesday

Anderson is on the bench Tuesday against Cleveland, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Anderson has gone just 4-for-24 over his last six games. Leury Garcia will get the start at shortstop for the second time this season.
