Nationals' CJ Abrams: Big day in loss
Abrams went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a second run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Dodgers.
He helped chase Emmet Sheehan from the game by taking the right-hander deep in the fifth inning. Jordan Lawlar SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Starts again
Lawlar started at shortstop and went 0-for-3 in Friday's 1-0 win over the Cubs.
Lawlar made a second consecutive start after getting called up Thursday. It was a version of the lineup that Arizona manager Torey Lovullo described as "where I'm at right now," to Theo Mackie of the Arizona Republic. "I definitely had some options, but I just feel like for right now, I wanted to lean on him a little bit and continue to do so," the manager said. It sounds like Lawlar will be a near-everyday starter.

Giants' Marco Luciano: Playing in instructional league
Manager Gabe Kapler said Friday that Luciano (hamstring) has begun playing in instructional league games, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The 21-year-old infield prospect went 3-for-11 during a brief cup of coffee with San Francisco in late July.
