Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Absent from lineup
Crawford is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Rays, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
The Rays are starting a right-hander (Aaron Civale), but the lefty-hitting Crawford will get a breather for the day game after a night game while he remains in the midst of a 1-for-25 slide at the dish. Johan Camargo will occupy shortstop Wednesday while Crawford sits.

Geraldo Perdomo SS | ARI
Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Riding pine versus lefty
Perdomo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies.
Though he's a switch hitter, Perdomo often sits against left-handed pitchers, so it comes as little surprise that he'll head to the bench Wednesday while southpaw Austin Gomber takes the hill for Colorado. Nick Ahmed will step in for Perdomo at shortstop and bat seventh.

Masyn Winn SS | STL
Cardinals' Masyn Winn: Back from injury
Winn (lower body) has gone 3-for-11 over three games since returning to Triple-A Memphis' lineup.
Winn was managing a mild glute strain over the last week, but he's been just fine since getting back into action after a few days off. The top prospect is slashing .284/.356/.467 with 17 home runs, 17 stolen bases, 60 RBI, 95 runs scored, 15 doubles and seven triples through 103 Triple-A games this year. It's expected he'll be called up to the majors some time before the end of the season.

Tommy Edman 2B | LAD
Cardinals' Tommy Edman: Tacks on homer
Edman went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Athletics.
Edman has gone 10-for-24 (.417) with four homers and two doubles during his six-game hitting streak. It's an impressive show of power from a player not known for his slugging. He's up to 11 homers, 37 RBI, 54 runs scored, 15 stolen bases and a .251/.314/.433 slash line through 97 contests. Edman is likely to continue starting at shortstop rather than shifting back to the outfield with Dylan Carlson (oblique) landing on the injured list, though that could change if or when the Cardinals decide to call up Masyn Winn from Triple-A Memphis.

Alika Williams SS | PIT
Pirates' Alika Williams: On bench Tuesday
Williams is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Mets.
Williams had some big hits at the beginning of August, but the 24-year-old is slashing just .191/.269/.234 through his first 52 major-league plate appearances. Liover Peguero will start at shortstop for the Pirates on Tuesday as Jared Triolo covers second base.
-
C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Back in lineup Tuesday
Abrams (back) is starting at shortstop and batting leadoff Tuesday versus the Red Sox.
Abrams was lifted from Sunday's series finale against the Athletics due to back spasms, but he is ready to rock leading into the Nationals' three-game set versus Boston. The 22-year-old has slashed .297/.356/.460 with four homers and 20 steals in 37 games since the beginning of July.
-
Luke Williams SS | ATL
Braves' Luke Williams: Recalled from Gwinnett
Atlanta recalled Williams from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
Williams was claimed off waivers from the Dodgers in early June and has since slashed .251/.343/.396 with six homers and 17 steals in 48 games for Gwinnett. The versatile 27-year-old figures to operate in a super-utility and pinch-running role with the NL East leaders.

Francisco Lindor SS | NYM
Mets' Francisco Lindor: Hits 20-20 mark in win
Lindor went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 7-2 win over the Pirates.
With his steal Monday, Lindor reached the 20-20 threshold for the third time in his career. The 29-year-old shortstop has heated up of late, going 20-for-55 (.364) with a 1.053 OPS over his last 15 games. Overall, Lindor is slashing .245/.333/.465 with 22 homers, 70 RBI and 74 runs scored across 502 plate appearances this season while going 20-for-22 on stolen base attempts.
-
Vaughn Grissom 2B | LAA
Braves' Vaughn Grissom: Headed back to majors
Grissom was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
Grissom will return to Atlanta for the first time since May, joining the big club as a replacement on the 26-man active roster for Ozzie Albies (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. With Albies out for at least the next week and a half, Grissom could see some action at second base -- perhaps against left-handed pitching -- but he may be second in line to the lefty-hitting Nicky Lopez versus right-handers. Grissom hasn't done much in his brief time in the majors this season but has been excellent at Gwinnett, sporting a .327/.412/.494 batting line with six home runs and 11 stolen bases over 403 plate appearances.

Ezequiel Tovar SS | COL
Rockies' Ezequiel Tovar: Knocks three hits, including homer
Tovar went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a double in a 6-4 victory versus the Diamondbacks on Monday.
Tovar swatted a solo shot in the sixth inning to bring Colorado to within two runs. He was then part of the Rockies' big four-run eighth, knocking a single and eventually coming around to score. Tovar finished with his fourth three-hit performance of the campaign and his third multi-hit effort over his past six contests.
