  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Marlins' Joey Wendle: Double, two hits in win

Wendle went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in Monday's win over the Royals.

Wendle is starting to come around after a dreadful start to the year-- he's gone 7-for-15 (.467) with four doubles in five games to start June. Despite his early-season struggles, Miami has stuck with Wendle as its primary starting shortstop. He's now slashing .235/.316/.382 with five RBI and nine runs scored through 78 plate appearances.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Triples in win

Berti went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored in Monday's victory over the Royals.

Berti tied the game 4-4 in the fourth inning with a two-run triple, his first three-bagger of the year. He'd been struggling coming into Monday's contest, going 4-for-24 (.167) over his last nine games while playing a utility role in Miami. The 33-year-old Berti is still slashing a solid .277/.327/.319 with two homers, 24 runs scored, 12 RBI and seven stolen bases through 186 plate appearances this season.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Phillies' Trea Turner: Belts two homers

Turner went 4-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in Monday's win over the Tigers.

Turner ripped a pair of solo shots of Tigers starter Joey Wentz. It's been a rough start for Turner in Philadelphia but his first multi-homer game Monday could be a sign of an impending breakout. He snapped an ugly 3-for-28 (.107) skid over his previous seven games. The 29-year-old is now slashing .243/.286/.398 with 23 extra-base hits and 32 runs scored through 59 games.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Hoping to be back Tuesday

Bogaerts (wrist) hopes to return to the Padres' lineup Tuesday against the Mariners, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bogaerts is missing a second straight start Monday with left wrist soreness. It's an injury which first cropped up during spring training and was fixed at that time with a cortisone shot. However, it flared up again when Bogaerts was hit on the wrist by a Spencer Strider pitch back on April 18 and it's too soon for him to be given another injection. For what it's worth, Bogaerts was batting .347/.422/.556 with four homers in 19 games through that April 18 contest. Since then, he's hit .204/.294/.303 with three homers in 38 contests.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Still sidelined by wrist injury

Bogaerts (wrist) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game versus the Cubs, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Bogaerts is sitting out with nagging soreness in his left wrist, an issue which dates back to spring training. The Padres are considering the shortstop day-to-day. Ha-Seong Kim will be at shortstop Monday, with Rougned Odor covering second base.

  • Pirates' Tucupita Marcano: Sitting versus lefty

Marcano is out of the lineup Monday against the Athletics, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

The Pirates will go with the switch-hitting Rodolfo Castro at shortstop versus left-hander JP Sears. The left-handed hitting Marcano is just 3-for-19 this season against southpaws.

  • Luke Williams SS | ATL

Braves' Luke Williams: Joins new organization

Atlanta claimed Williams off waivers from the Dodgers on Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

In order to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for the 26-year-old utility man, Atlanta shifted Max Fried (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL. Williams appeared in four games for the Dodgers in April but has otherwise spent the entire 2023 campaign at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he slashed .262/.339/.446 with six home runs and 11 stolen bases across 198 plate appearances.

  • Jonathan Mejia SS | STL

Cardinals' Jonathan Mejia: Active at Single-A

Mejia was activated from the temporarily inactive list with Single-A Palm Beach on Monday.

The 18-year-old switch hitter was given the rare assignment to Single-A on May 23 without ever playing in the Florida Complex League. Mejia had an .897 OPS in the Dominican Summer League last year and is the best teenage hitting prospect in the Cardinals' farm system.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Not in Sunday's lineup

Rojas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Rojas is 4-for-12 with a double, two stolen bases and three RBI in the past three games but will take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Chris Taylor will start at shortstop and bat eighth against New York righty Domingo German.

  • Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Sidelined Sunday

Bogaerts (wrist) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

As expected, Bogaerts will receive at least one day off to heal up from his sore left wrist, which has been nagging him for more than a week. After he was lifted late in Saturday's win over the Cubs, Bogaerts said he expects to avoid a stint on the injured list, but fantasy managers should view the 30-year-old as day-to-day heading into the Friars' upcoming six-game week. Ha-Seong Kim will fill in for Bogaerts at shortstop in Sunday's contest.
