  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Slugs 10th homer

Turner went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Cubs.

The shortstop took Adbert Alzolay deep in the third inning, putting the Nats on the board and giving Turner his 10th long ball of the year. He remains one of the hottest hitters in the game in May -- through 15 games, Turner is hitting .365 (23-for-63) with four doubles, four homers, two steals, nine runs and 11 RBI.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Hits ninth home run

Baez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's 7-3 win over the Nationals.

Baez struck out twice but also managed his ninth home run of the season by taking former teammate Jon Lester deep in the sixth inning. The dynamic shortstop got off to a bit of a slow start and recently missed a few games due to back tightness, but he has his OPS up to .809.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | TB

Padres' Jorge Mateo: Returns to action

Mateo (COVID-19) was activated from the injured list prior to Monday's game against the Rockies.

Mateo was forced to the injured list after being listed as a close contact, but he'll be available Monday after a brief absence. He's 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI through five games in May.

  • Jorge Mateo SS | TB

    Padres' Jorge Mateo: Nearing return

Mateo (COVID-19) could be activated ahead of Monday's game against the Rockies, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Both Mateo and Jurickson Profar (COVID-19) were spotted playing catch on the field prior to Monday's matchup, and manager Jayce Tingler stated that he's hopeful both players will return from the injured list in time for the series opener. The team has yet to make an official announcement on Mateo's status.

  • Braves' Johan Camargo: Called up yet again

Camargo was recalled by Atlanta on Monday.

Camargo is now on his fourth separate stint on the big-league roster. He was recalled last Monday before being optioned Saturday, but he's up again just two days later with Ender Inciarte heading to the paternity list. None of his previous opportunities led to regular at-bats, and it's unlikely this one will, either.

  • Ronny Mauricio SS | NYM

Mets' Ronny Mauricio: Raking to begin season

Mauricio is slashing .341/.386/.732 through nine games for High-A Brooklyn with four home runs and 12 RBI.

The 20-year-old has already matched his career high in homers, after putting four over the fence in 116 games in 2019 as an 18-year-old at Low-A. Mauricio's growth as a hitter is impressive, but his 3:13 BB:K indicates he still has some things to work on. Nonetheless, the Mets No. 4 fantasy prospect could be headed for a breakout campaign.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Three hits in win

Turner went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's 3-0 victory against Arizona.

Turner recorded singles in the third and sixth before smashing an RBI double to extend Washington's lead in the eighth. Turner continued his scorching start with a 7-for-13 weekend in Arizona and is among the league's top hitters.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Out at least four weeks

Seager won't require surgery but will miss at least four weeks after fracturing the fifth metacarpal on his right hand, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 27-year-old is sporting a splint on his right hand after being hit by a pitch Saturday, and he's now on the injured list for the foreseeable future. Gavin Lux is expected to see the bulk of the time at shortstop in Seager's absence, with Chris Taylor also in the mix.

  • Miguel Rojas 2B | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Day off Sunday

Rojas is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rojas started the last five games and will take a seat after going 6-for-21 with three doubles, two RBI and five runs during that stretch. Jazz Chisholm (hamstring) is back from the injured list and starting at shortstop Sunday while Isan Diaz remains at second base.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Power surge continues

Crawford went 2-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Saturday's 8-6 loss to the Pirates.

The veteran shortstop remains red hot in May. Crawford has slugged five of his nine homers on the year in the last 10 games, slashing .345/.459/.862 during that stretch with 11 RBI, and he's already gone yard more often through 33 games in 2021 than he did in 54 games last season.
