Brewers' Orlando Arcia: To lose playing time

Arcia, who is not in Friday's lineup against the Pirates, is going to start losing out on some playing time at shortstop, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers will start Tyler Saladino at shortstop Friday, and manager Craig Counsell said that will be a trend going forward. "I think at least for a while here we're going to share some time at shortstop," Counsell said. "Sally's going to play quite a bit of shortstop." Arcia is a flashy defender, but he is hitting .190 with just four walks in 84 at-bats this month.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Ready to begin rehab assignment

Story (thumb) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Story took batting practice Friday, and it appears all went well, as he has been cleared to resume playing in games. The report notes Story is expected to only play two games with Albuquerque, so barring any setbacks, he could be ready to come off the injured list as soon as Tuesday.

Rockies' Trevor Story: Takes live batting practice

Story (thumb) took part in a live batting practice session Friday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

The shortstop will not come off the injured list Saturday when first eligible, but he is making progress in his recovery. Story is expected to head out on a rehab assignment before rejoining the big club, but he will still have a chance to return to action prior to the All-Star break.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: First day off since May

Arcia is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates.

Arcia homered three times and racked up seven RBI over his last six games, but with him starting every game since May 19 and manager Craig Counsell looking to get call-up Tyler Saladino some early action, Arcia will open on the bench Friday while Saladino gets the start at shortstop.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Marlins' Jon Berti: Cleared for rehab stint

Berti (oblique) is ready to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A New Orleans, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Berti has been out for five weeks with a left oblique strain, so he will likely need a week's worth of games with New Orleans at least before he's back up to speed. The owner of an underwhelming .237/.324/.373 line this season, Berti will likely slide back into a utility role upon activation.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Day off Friday

Swanson is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets.

Swanson started the last 34 games for the Braves and has a .844 OPS with eight homers in that stretch. Johan Camargo will start at shortstop while Swanson is out of the lineup for the fourth time this season.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Drives in three in loss

Swanson went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a run scored and three RBI in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.

The 25-year-old continues to swing a hot bat, driving in eight runs in the last six games. Swanson's .259/.325/.470 line on the year remains somewhat lackluster, but it's an improvement in all three slash categories on last year's performance, and his 15 homers, six steals, 51 RBI and 53 runs through 82 games have given him solid fantasy value.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Homers in win

Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and another run scored in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Giants.

Ahmed put the Diamondbacks on top with a solo shot off starter Tyler Beede in the fifth inning. He also walked and scored again in the seventh. The 29-year-old has put together a decent campaign so far but has been lacking in consistency. Overall, he's batting .259/.310/.416 with seven homers, 40 runs scored, 24 RBI and 20 doubles.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Collects four hits versus Natonals

Rojas went 4-for-5 with three doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base during Thursday's 8-5 loss to the Nationals.

Stephen Strasburg silenced most of Rojas' teammates, but he was a one-man wrecking crew in this one as he notched his second career four-hit game. He was at the heart each of his team's three scoring plays in this one, including a two-run double before scoring in the third inning. While Rojas has eight hits in this last 15 at-bats, this was the first time he's really hit the ball with authority, and he's not a particularly valuable fantasy asset at the moment, aside from the occasional stolen base.

  • Trea Turner SS | PHI

Nationals' Trea Turner: Swipes two bases versus Marlins

Turner finished 2-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored during Thursday's 8-5 win over the Marlins.

Turner stole a base and scored on two occasions, and although he was caught stealing third after doubling in the seventh inning, he still had a significant impact on the game for the Nats. He has now recorded a multi-hit game in four of the last five while scoring eight runs, driving in four and stealing four bases.
