Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Goes yard for first time in 2019
Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Rangers.
The shortstop already has five doubles in 11 games to start the season, but Tuesday's blast off Mike Minor was Ahmed's first long ball. The 29-year-old is off to a fine .326/.340/.512 start at the plate, but his career .650 OPS indicates he'll cool off fairly quickly.

Dansby Swanson SS | CHC
Braves' Dansby Swanson: Keeps raking in Colorado
Swanson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Rockies.
The shortstop has been on a run-producing tear lately, going 5-for-15 over the last four games with a triple, two homers and nine RBI. Swanson's four home runs and .324 batting average suggest the 25-year-old is poised for a 2019 breakout, but he's been hot before and been unable to sustain it whether due to injury or regression. Enjoy this production while it lasts, but he still has plenty to prove to be considered a reliable fantasy asset.

Orlando Arcia SS | MIN
Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Heads to bench
Arcia is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Angels.
Arcia sits for just the second time this season. After grabbing just one hit in his first six games, he has seven over his last four. Hernan Perez starts at shortstop in his place.

Trea Turner SS | PHI
Nationals' Trea Turner: Could return in 4-to-6 weeks
Turner's tentative timeline to recover from his broken finger is 4-to-6 weeks, Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.
Turner broke his right index finger while attempting to bunt April 2. It remains difficult to predict exactly when he'll be back, but the latest report is in line with the initial estimates, which held that Turner's timetable would be longer than three weeks. Wilmer Difo has started every game at shortstop in his absence.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Sits Tuesday
Seager is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
It's merely a planned day off for the shortstop, who figures to continue to see the occasional maintenance day, at least in the short term as he was working his way back from elbow and hip injuries during spring training. Seager has found his stroke at the plate recently after a slow start, posting multi-hit efforts in three of his last four games to bring his slash line up to .250/.375/.375 through 40 at-bats.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Clubs three-run shot
Story went 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk in Monday's 8-6 loss to Atlanta.
Story is slowly picking up some steam after starting the year 2-for-19. He's knocked three homers in the last four games with seven RBI during that stretch.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Rockies' Trevor Story: Good to go Monday
Story (calf) is starting at shortstop and hitting fourth Monday against the Braves, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.
Story exited Sunday's game against the Dodgers after being struck by a pitch on his right calf, however the issue won't force him to miss any additional time. The shortstop, who is 8-for-36 (.222) with a trio of homers and six RBI through 10 games this season, will face righty Julio Teheran in Monday's series opener.
-
Paul DeJong SS | DET
Cardinals' Paul DeJong: Timely two-bagger in win
DeJong went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in a win over the Padres on Sunday.
DeJong's fourth-inning two-bagger plated Matt Carpenter and Paul Goldschmidt, erasing an early 1-0 deficit for the Cardinals. The young shortstop has managed to hit safely in eight of the first nine games of the season, but with only one multi-hit effort thus far, he's still hitting a pedestrian .231 across his first 42 plate appearances.

Pablo Reyes RF | SD
Pirates' Pablo Reyes: Gets start in left field
Reyes will start in left field and will bat seventh Monday against the Cubs.
The right-handed-hitting Reyes will check into the lineup for the lefty-hitting Jason Martin, who heads to the bench with southpaw Jon Lester twirling for the Cubs. Reyes looks like he could be the preferred platoon mate for Martin with multiple outfielders on the Pirates' injured list at the moment, but that role is unlikely to afford the 25-year-old steady at-bats. He's logged just nine plate appearances through the Pirates' first eight games, collecting one hit.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Swinging hot bat
Seager went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and two walks in Sunday's 12-6 victory over Colorado.
After going hitless in four straight games, Seager has five hits over the last three contests. He's raised his slash line to .222/.364/.361 with five extra-base hits in 44 plate appearances.
